Man, I was way off on that car commercial - it’s Parker Posey (whomever she is) hawking a Hyundai Palisade Hybrid.
Even funnier to me is the booth making the decision to censor the emu for not wearing pants.
There is a drug ad with a grandmother watching her grand-daughter ballet dance- and they include that wonderful old classic- “Dancing in the Moonlight”.
However, of course the ad come sin versions, and I could swear in one they had the little girls (grade schoolers) dancing 'en point”, which kids should never do.
So I like the music, but I dunno. But I could be wrong.
More insurance ad . I think I recognize some of the drivers in this one. Progressive “bad drivers” Deer in the headlights is so funny.
I absolutely hate how drug ads are ruining old classic ‘feel good’ songs like this by playing the song in the background while someone reads a laundry list of possible dire side effects over it.
Oops, thought this was the “annoying commercials” thread ![]()
That’s great! Thanks.
I just saw the 1990 Corona beer commercial for the first time this year. That one never gets old (for me).
A while back, I saw some commercials for Norton Antivirus featuring the Heavy Metal band Dokken.
In these, Dokken represented a virus wanting to take control of your hard-drive, represented by a raw chicken. The ad had two versions. One in which you allowed Dokken to take control and one where you didn’t. In the allow version, the ad finished with a shot of Dokken chowing down on a meal of fried chicken, In the deny version, the chicken stands up wielding a switch-blade and backing Dokken off.
The only version I could find on YouTube is a little different, with the allow version having the chicken spontaneously combust.

Note: In looking for this on YouTube, I found that Norton actually produced a series of similar commercials all featuring known personalities. The only ones I saw back in the day were the Dokken ones.
It’s not the holiday season until I’ve seen that one and the Hershey’s Kisses bell ringers.
Wow, I knew it was an oldie, but I didn’t remember it being that old. As someone who grew up in a non-snowy region, I’ve always appreciated it.
It is nice.
This Amazon ad began appearing on my A&E channel a few days ago.
Found it on YouTube
Cheeky and just a bit suggestive.

I just realized the ending was cut off.
Dad looks at his daughter and then massages the back of his neck with the massage gun. Apparently confirming he likes the gift.
Regarding non-annoying Christmas commercials, I like this one from M&Ms, featuring Santa fainting at the sight of the M&Ms. And the commercial first aired in 1996, so it’s 29 years old.
Wait, it’s HOW old?
I guess the classics never really age.
My favorite part of that commercial is the brother or brother-in-law. They pan to him when the dad opens the gift, and he blinks his eyes very slowly - like he’s saying “oh boy, that’s not good”. I’ll rewind it to watch it again!
