“Doctors’ pose.” ![]()
The Chase bank (I think it’s Chase bank) Mr. Boombastic ad with the pinkish-orangeish color scheme couple walking a pig on a leash makes me grin every time.
The first time I heard that, I would have sworn that it was Tom Hanks doing reggae rap. Listen again and see if you don’t hear it.
My husband giggles at the Peyton Manning cupcakes commercial.
All of the “Peyton on Sunday Morning” commercials make me laugh.
I like the whole series.
But after spending more than an hour on the phone with DirecTV yesterday morning, trying to get Sunday Ticket to work (every year I have the same problem! DTV has the worst customer service I’ve ever dealt with) I actually asked the tech if he thought Peyton Manning had to sit on the phone to get his Sunday Ticket to work right, too. I don’t think he got the reference.
I like the state farm (I think) ads that show different situations with the same dialogue. I’m easily amused.
I like them, too. The one where he shares a park bench with an elderly man who gives advice it good. His sad, pensive look after the punchline is pretty funny.
During NFL coverage yesterday, they played a bunch of funny ones like the lemonade stand and Aaron Rodgers/Clay Matthews/housefly/golf club bit mentioned upthread. However, do we really need to see Matthew McConaughey drive a Lincoln during every break?
Thanks for linking this. I’ve seen the shorter version, but not this longer one.
I like the way Patrick Dempsey struggles to come up with an appropriate “doctor pose.” ![]()
I’m not sure these have been mentioned somewhere in the three pages of this thread, but my three favorites of the past few years are:
- The Directv commercial with Glen from the Mailroom
- Meathead Rob Lowe for Directv
- That ATT commercial with the guy talking with the kids, the one about the island made of candy, that black kid always cracked me up.
The commercials I hate the most, by far, are by friggin’ Orkin. I have a r**ch phobia and they will just spring them on you in their commercials without warning. I can’t reach the remote fast enough. I’ll never use Orkin for anything.
“Is that Ice-T?”
The only thing I thought was funny even the first time was the (I think) second guy to ask that. He just looks really weird and funny.

That’s it!
I love weiner dogs! My Nathan is named for the brand.
One that I currently love is the Amazon commercial with the young family with the baby and a golden retriever dog. The dog wants to be friends with the baby, but the baby is scared of the dog and cries whenever the dog comes near. The expression on the dog’s face is heart-wrenching. The baby’s favorite toy is a stuffed lion. The dad makes an amazon order of a lion ruff dog costume, and everyone is happy at the end, most especially the dog. Very sweet commercial.
If I can find a link of just the commercial, I’ll post it. The links I’m finding include other things.
This one for Mountain Dew cracks me up:
Kickstart Freak Chain
Twerking mosquito!
How about the woman who talks without moving her teeth?
I hadn’t seen those before. I like them!
Oh yes! Every time I see that one, at the moment where the dog’s happy welcome face turns to dismay, a noise comes out of me. Because I am trying to laugh and say “AWWWW!” at the same time. What a sweet doggie.
The latter two are good but that first one is just plain dumb.
