I hereby certify this pitting as eminently reasonable and justified. I’m a lurker over at the GB and find that board to be mostly a genial and amusing place (reflecting in large its owner). **BigT **, a generally shrill and abrasive poster whom I too took for a termagant, should quit stalking Giraffe and put a sock in it about his board.
I’m offering to buy him the paint for X-mas. Oil or acrylic? Primary colors or pastels? 1/2 a gallon or a drum? So many choices. Yummm.

Agreed on all counts. When they do post about something over here, I use it as a “threadspotting” sort of service. Funny commentary and I’ll often catch things I would have missed otherwise. If I ever saw something I wanted to respond to directly, I’d sign up and say it over there. BigT needs to get over it.

My impression of BigT is that he’s utterly, utterly humorless. He’s the type who comes into a conversation where people are batting around puns and jokes and calmly explains to everyone that, say, “pussy” primarily means “cat”, so therefore all these childish jokes that you all think are so funny really aren’t, and can we please get back to the topic of how to lick your cat clean.

Look, each of those posts had separate reasons for existing. The first is because you went beyond the pale making fun of a mentally ill person, using crap that came from your fucking board. It’s not that you have the threads, but that you got your information from them, even down to some of the wording. The second is because Guin is a fucking hypocrite, and I happened to have recently learned that she backs down when people get mean. I even pointed out that i had nothing against 'Raffers in general if you’d have scrolled down to my next post. The third is a response to someone getting on to me for DEFENDING the Giraffe board.
The fourth was just a gratuitous shot at Giraffe because I was upset, I’ll admit. But since Giraffe didn’t respond, I just assumed it didn’t matter to him, so I never bothered to apologize.
I’ll also point out that I specifically went out of my way to keep you posting on this board when your work didn’t let you post. Is that really from someone who hates your guts?
I thought everyone got me by now. When I’m angry, I say things in a much meaner way than I mean. I have a temper problem, and I’m perfectly fine if you want to pit me for that. But it’s just silly to think I actually hate you.

Mental illness does not give one carte blanche to crap all over a message board without anyone saying a word. And I’m not reposting other people’s crap, I’m voicing my opinion on the topic when it comes up. I don’t care enough about Opal to start a thread about her in either place, but I’ll throw my two cents in because she has been acting pretty nutty lately and it’s annoying. Not, I’ll note, as annoying as you, but still annoying.

So for #1, it’s ok to say Giraffe gets off on picking on OpalCat because there are Opal-bashing threads on GB? If you don’t like that people are picking on her on Giraffe Boards, the point is, you should go over there and defend her rather than drag it up here where the rule is “no offboard stuff.” Giraffe wasn’t the only one in the Opal pit thread criticizing her, and he’s not the only GB person posting in that thread.
#2 was a gratuitous swipe at Guinastasia in a thread with no connection to GB whatsoever other than that she posts there, too. You just wanted to be mean and shut her up, and in any forum but the pit that would have gotten you a warning. It should have at least been noted for, again, offboard stuff. And an apology to a group but not the specific member of that group you offended is bullshit.
#3 I read your posts in the Diogenes banning and don’t see your impassioned defense of GB anywhere, unless you mean
#4 you admit was another cheap shot. When someone takes a swipe at you, whether they just don’t care enough to respond or because they don’t feel like getting into a 12 page argument over it, it doesn’t make it right or mean that it’s justified.
I’m guilty of losing my temper on a message board and insulting someone when I should just have calmed down and realized it wasn’t worth getting into a snit over it. When that happens, you apologize and do your damndest not to do it again, whether it involves walking away from the computer, closing the thread and not going back to it, or taking a break from the board until you get over it. You don’t keep taking cheap shots and coming up with bullshit rationalizations for them, then wondering why people get mad about it.
