We were ON A **BREAK **!

It didn’t actually ping my bullshit meter at first, but I always did think she sounded like an awful teacher. She talks about those kids like they’re extras from Stand and Deliver. “Phst, Miss, you black”? Really? Who the hell talks like that? And they all apparently talk the same way.
Between that and the childhood obesity thread where she basically said that a parent should just tell their kid “hey, fat-ass, lose some weight right now!” and refused to believe that a teen might react poorly to that (and cited the behaviour of her 6 year old as proof) it makes me wonder if she has ever bothered to get to know a teenager at all.

But those Brown and Black students love her enough to consider her an honorary member of their race.
And she loves the children of color enough to collect donations from us–for them–despite the fact that she herself is in such a desperate place financially. —How big of her.
I would personally like to make her the honorary Queen of Mexico.
The timing of her pregnancy seems way off. The doctors are supposed to be saying it’s plausible she’s just five weeks along right now, yet she had a positive pregnancy test three weeks ago? That’s impossible. Pregnancies are dated by convention from the start of your last period, which makes “2 weeks pregnant” roughly the date of conception, not the date when you can get a positive test (that’s more like “4 weeks”).
The information about only being able to see a yolk sac at “5 weeks” rings a bell from my time on the mommy boards a few years ago, so I think she got that right, but dropped the ball on the dating convention. (Hell enough people do that who really are pregnant.) She’s definitely not just counting erroneously from the date of conception all along, because you can see an embryo at “7 weeks” pregnant.
<spit-take> Ha!
I honestly can’t get a read one way or the other, but if all the stuff is actually true, she’s got a lot of crap going on. And her step-mother is the stupidest person alive.
This pitting is long overdue. She’s either crazy or trolling.
Or trolling like crazy!
Oh, I know that it happens. I just don’t think it happened to the person who started this thread or this thread.
Actually, it’s not the starting of those threads, even, but some of the posts contained therein.
Can’t she be both, like the late Earl Warren?
Honestly, I think she’s largely for real, (though one always assumes a certain amount of exaggeration on the internet). The mixture of confidence and insecurity seems very real to me, and her teacher stories seem authentic to this teacher.
Hey, somebody has to take over for “Whitey” Bulger.
I’ve often felt sympathy for those she is supposed to be teaching.
What composes that mixture and why does it seem very real to you?
Well, she’s cocky enough to tell me I’m an appalling teacher because I don’t do what she learned to do in Education classes, but too young to realize that good teachers have to reject all that stuff. She’s insecure enough that she bends over backwards to “see the other side” about the older guy that knocked her up at 19 and then said “I can’t handle this, I’ll send money”, but young and brash enough to think that she can take on single motherhood by herself. It just strikes me as authentic.
She’s already “taken on single motherhood by herself”. She has a ten-year-old.
I know. That’s the one that the father told her he’d send money but that he didn’t want to have anything to do with the baby.
He’s not 10. He is 6 or 7.
Sorry, I thought she said ten. And I thought you were talking about the latest pregnancy, Manda Jo. Hard to keep track of all the details she was talking about.
Sorry.
Hell I couldn’t even keep track of who we were talking about.
