I categorically do not like beet pickled eggs.
Plenty of folks do though. To each his own.

Tonka was on the catio, pacing and yowling. I went out, and he was crouched in a corner. About six feet away, there was a bunny munching on grass or weeds. Bunny stayed a while, and Tonka just watched intently. (As if he’d actually chase it if he had the chance!)
I’m sure this is a dumb question, but why is Lacunae Matata “Peaches”?
I um… have a fever/chills. 101.7. And have had a mild sore throat all day and been coughing a bit (but not really badly) the past couple hours. I’m not ready to sound any alarms yet. I haven’t been in contact with a lot of people, but I have with some. And I haven’t heard anything about anyone else being sick. It’s stupid because I’m 95% sure I’m just hyping myself up, but that 5% is pretty high-stakes, so I neither want to panic people with unnecessary drama if it’s nothing nor dismiss it and allow for the possibility of spreading it if it’s something. The kid is at her dad’s til tomorrow evening and it’ll be my roommate’s day off, so I can at least wait for morning. I nearly always feel pretty of flu-y and achy and have trouble regulating my temperature, so chills aren’t that uncommon and I really have no idea about fevers because I don’t usually take my temperature, but it’s very possible that it’s just from some over-exertion. The sore throat could be anything from allergies to dehydration to talking too much and the cough could easily be psychosomatic.
So here’s hoping my brain/body is just bored and more anxious than I’d like to admit and making up things to panic about. I’m going to try to get some sleep and reassess in the morning. By then, things ought to be somewhat clearer one way or the other.
As to pickled eggs, we did also get a jar of pickles with our grocery order, so when those are gone (they never last long), it will be an opportunity to experiment.
Fear? Nah. He would have thrown hands to defend me. And would have gotten his ass kicked .
((((((**Dots **))))))
Hope it not serious. And feel bettwr
Brownies?
A character in a book I read was speaking about those recipes, saying he had a great spaghetti sauce recipe that was…enhanced, shall we say.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 54 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 86 with probable rain/tstorms/ apocalypse later this mornin’ and then again tonight. We shall see. Well, today is Easter, such as it is. We decided against doin’ the Vigil of Easter with the Diocese last night, in favor of the one our church is doin’ at seven this mornin’. We shall, however join in the Easter service offered by the Diocese. That and our feast will be the activities of the day. Speakin’ of feast, I forgot to mention we shall have deviled aigs! Of course we shall have deviled aigs! They are already made and even in a proper deviled aig dish. BTW we shall dine in the fancy eatin’ room and even use the good dishes. We be fancified today!
Alien I think ABBA’s greatest hits set in Gregorian Chants would be innerestin’.
CupCakes fie on that grocery sto’ I say! I just know sump’n even better is out there.
Dots she is Peaches cause she’s from Jawja. I like pickled aigs, but not pickled in beet juice. That’s just ICK! I also like pickled peaches (N.O.P., though I’m sure she’s been “pickled” a time or two) but the things have gotten kinda hard to find in the sto’.
Everyone else, boos, yays, hugs, trouts, chitlins, noogies, and how you doin’s all around, as needed.
HAPPY EASTER!!!
Now I need more caffeine. Rumbly tummy will get fed after the Vigil. Then, onward into the day! Rah.
Happy Sunday Y’all!
Thanks again for all the good wishes.
I’ll be spending the day with my mom. We will snack and watch movies. I see TCM has several bibilical flicks, as usual. A bit of trivia. In the 1959 Ben-Hur, an actor named Frank Thring played Pontius Pilate. He had a long career as a character actor. Remember Mad Max-Beyond Thunderdome? He was in that too, playing one of the henchmen to Tina Turner. He was the fat bald guy who wore the eye loupe. Listen to the voice, it’s the only way to recognize him.
It’s these three. Among the things that made me crazy was the use of irregardless (as part of the narrative, not something said by an uneducated character) and abbreviating like this: did-n’t. I also found some of the character interactions totally not believable, especially the main character. Still, I waded thru all 3 and now I can find something better (I hope) to read.
**Happy Easter! ** We were supposed to have a sunshiny morning, but it’s overcast and cold and looks like rain. Daughter and SIL were going to make an egg hunt for Roxy this afternoon - I hope it clears a bit. The eggs are filled with rocks. Don’t be aghast - Roxy loves rocks! Daughter and SIL painted a bunch for her. And they did get some candies to put in some of the eggs. And some little toys.
Other than that, no real plans. I’m not doing a fancy dinner, but I don’t think anyone cares. **FCD **will probably work most of the day - trying to get as much done as he can before his surgery. I may go pick up more sticks if the weather gets nicer. Or not. We shall see.
Hope the Easter Bunny was good to one and all! Happy Sunday!
Happy Sunday!
HAPPY EASTER!
It’s a chilly overcast 43 degrees outside.
Supposed to get up to 68, so that will be nice.
No playdate today, so I slept in until almost 8.
I’m debating changing my schedule to take the day off. I expect it won’t be busy.
Already have one load of clothes (from yesterday) in the dryer and another in the washer. The dishwasher is loaded and ready to go when the clothes are done.
I think I will devil some eggs today, and I have a ham slice in the fridge. That can be Easter dinner. My son will eat the eggs, but not the ham. The landlord next door mowed our front yard yesterday, I don’t know why, but he did and that was nice of him.
I always wonder though, if he does it to be nice or if it is his way of saying, ‘hey you lazy ass, your damn yard needs mowing’. We could do his front yard in return, but our extension cord isn’t long enough to mow his back yard unless we can use one of his outlets. Our extension cord is barely long enough to do our back yard, but my son uses the weedwhacker out there anyway. The only thing that grows under the tree is weeds.
I’m not going to sweat getting anything done today, if it gets done it does, if not, oh well.
I think I’ll make some deviled eggs. Usually I take them to my Mom’s for our Easter gathering, and I dye the whites, but I’m not going that far today. Plain deviled eggs will suffice. To the kitchen!!
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Gordie was arguing with someone in the living room, possibly Alex Catt at 0600,:dubious: Also Animal Control and the popo was here. Some jackass dumped his dog in the pool enclosure.
To those who celebrate
HAPPY EASTER!!!
And since we are in a pandemic, let us imitate the Apostles on Easter Sunday, and lock ourselves in a room with a couple amphoras of wine.
Now I want deviled aigs.
Morning all. Had a good Yeaster by going to Krispy Kreme early this morning and buying redacted glazed donuts, which I consumed along with two bottles of chocolate milk. Rainy outside and it’s supposed to get bad here in the Ali-bama/Tennessee area this afternoon and evening, so staying inside seems to be a plan.
{{Dots}}, probably just a passing bug, but keep an eye on it and do take your temperature (I bought a new thermometer recently just in case). Be well.
doggio, glad Gordie is OK and hope they come down hard on that numbskull.
Hippy, been some time since I played Cards against Humanity…hope they had a good time (and practices social distancing…)
Everyone have a fine Easter Sunday.
I hope that your ick isn’t anything serious dot, and that you’re feeling better soonest.
Like doggio, y’all got me craving deviled aigs too.
Happy Easter!
I awoke ~ 6:30 to thunder boomers. I rolled back over.
My grandfather used to say that if it rained on Easter, it would rain every Sunday after until Pentecost. I’ve noticed that it does trend that way. Of course, weather cycles and spring.
Up, caffeinating and breakfasted. At 10:30, I’ll tune unto a virtual heathen meet up. We’re giving this a try for the duration.
Eggs are boiled hard and peeled. I’ll devil 'em after lunch. Now, back to my book! A real book with paper pages and everything!!
It was 72 and a beautiful spring day yesterday. Today it is 34 and we have 1-3 inches of snow forecast
Good morning, campers! I would just like to say that this is all your fault. All this talk of deviled eggs made me want some too, and I had three hardboiled eggs left and was tired of egg salad and plain HB eggs, so they have how been deviled. Sadly, however, I have no official egg plate upon which to place them so they are currently residing in a random plastic container.
This leads to an important question regarding said eggs: why do some of us here (and you know who you are) spell it “aigs”? Is this an important MMP thing I need to know?
And another important question: how can one little cat who weighs less than six pounds manage to sound like an entire herd of elephants stampeding through the house?
Since we’re sharing menus for today, my festive Easter dinner shall consist of a couple of turkey thighs that I found lingering in the freezer the other day. I’m going to roast them just like they were little tiny turkeys. Unfortunately, I have no boxed stuffing, and no desire to make it from scratch, so I shall have some form of rice instead, along with some lovely fresh asparagus that I bought yesterday.
No, I haven’t talked to him in a while. I have his number so maybe I’ll give him a call soon.
FCM, I got your PM. It seems that a box that said “don’t allow anyone to PM me” was checked, so I unchecked that and it worked!
When Mrs. Plant (v.2.0) moved to AR from NH, she was assured that if she did not have a deviled egg plate, we would be considered to be living in sin.
Regarding *aigs *- a certain Jawja bear talks all funny-like. He’s a bad influence on those who should talk gooder. ![]()
As to your second question, I’d add: how can a pug shed three times her body weight per day and never get any smaller?
Face it, animals are mysterious and we can never understand, so just give up.
There have been a few peeks of sun, but mostly dreariness prevails. Roxy just went down for her nap - egg hunt still to be determined.
And we might get tornadoes tomorrow morning, so I might end up a lot closer to Cupcakes than I originally planned.

Selective gravity. Alex Catt can leave impact craters on the sectional if she wants.
“Why aren’t y’all bald?” - me to the pets on vacuuming day
Happy Easter, friends!
I woke up feeling a little more normal-for-me. No Easter plans here, although I may eat eggs (soft boiled with toast) later on. My landlords are here doing some stuff with the house. A friend who makes quilts and has a large fabric stash came by with some fabric so I can try making masks. She was going to just drop it on the porch, but my roommate went out and met her. For being in isolation, this is a hopping place.
