Stayed awake all night doomscrolling. Slept from 6am til 2pm. I must stop this habit before it gets fully established.
We are not fooling with a big fancy meal today either. It’s just survival at this point.
Happy Easter everyone!

Happy Easter everyone!
Happy Easter!
It’s a gorgeous day here. Unfortunately, I’ve got lupus fatigue and feel like I’ve been hit by a truck. I guess I spent too much time in the sunshine yesterday. This disease wants to turn me into a mushroom.
My niece and her hubs took their little boy to a drive-by greeting visit to the Easter Bunny. I love the rock-filled eggs, FCM! What a great idea for a budding rock hound! My son was one of those, but I never thought to put rocks in the eggs.
Dot, I hope you feel better!
doggio, I guffawed at the apostles comment. I plan to share it.
swampy, glad you’re celebrating in style!
I must go try to make myself look perkier for Zoom with the kids.
Happy Easter!
I have a question about the aig trays. Why does mine have an odd number of divots? It will hold an odd number of deviled aigs. You’d think that it would hold an even number, given that we cut the aigs in half, and all. It should have an even number of divots!
Maybe I have a generic aig tray. Maybe it’s a rouge aig tray. Who knows?!
Nothing going on here, today. Husband is OTR since last Moanday, and won’t be back until this coming Saturday. Humbug. So, no Easter plans for me.
Have a peaceful day, everyone.
I mean, before you serve them, you HAVE to sample one to make sure they’re good, right? So it’s only practical.
nonacetone Every cook knows that one must sample the deviled eggs to assure quality before serving. The odd numbered spaces on the egg trays take this into account ** ;o)**
Egg hunt is over, along with the photo shoot.
I hear Roxy downstairs opening her eggs. I’ll put some pics on FB in a bit.
I made the deviled eggs, and I have a timer set to remind me to start the rice for supper. Till then, I’ll be editing photos.
My Daddy used to tell a risque joke and the punchline was “Say aig and I’ll give you 'ern.”
Sorry, can’t remember the joke. :smack:
We have a ham cooked and lots of sides. My contribution was my Chicken and dressing in a casserole type dish. Mid-daughter made the best yeast rolls. Girl has talents with yeast breads.
The egg hunts are still going on. I swiped all the real eggs. The adults are tired of hiding eggs and have moved on to imbibing adult beverages. But the kids are taking turns hiding eggs from each other. I say let them play til the rain comes. And it’s coming. Plus cooler temps. We may have to cover some of my plants that are just peeking up.
nellie, so sorry your Lupus is acting up.
FCM, the egg rocks tickled me. I remember the ‘CandyCraze’ store on malls used to have candy/gum that looked just like rocks.
Grandwreks all picked out their black jelly beans for me. I can’t really eat them today. And grimy hands have touched them. Ewww!
It’s the thought that counts. They get a kick out of it.
butters, sorry about sleep probs. I have sympathy and suffer along with you.
My Meezers got an Easter treat. I opened a can of tiny shrimp that’s been in the pantry too long. They each had a few with their breakfast. Bear wants more. He’s howling on top the pantry door. Big Wrek is about to murder him. I guess I’m gonna have to give him more. He better not barf them.
Y’all have a pleasant Easter evening.
b. hopping down the bunny trail!
I got a spiral-cut ham from Trader Joe’s. It’s in the oven. I made potatoes au gratin from scratch. They’re in the toaster oven. I have asparagus waiting to be cooked.
We should be eating ‘dinner’ around 2 of the clock.
Rice is in the steamer. There’s a pan on the stove full of chicken, onions, mushrooms, and spinach that will be served over the rice. Supper.
I am making Chicken Parmesan (Veal for me) with garlic bread made from my first ever home made Baguettes
Afternoon all. Rain is still falling in North Ali-bama with the occasional tunder-boomer, but I still managed to nap most of the afternoon. Looking at the weather reports, it’s going to stay bad for awhile yet.
Dinner will be whatever I decide to throw together, probalby ham-n-cheese sammiches since ham is the traditional meal for Easter.
Dot, glad your feeling better and nellie, hope you get to feeling better.
hippy, that’s quite the weather change!
OW, re: your cat, same way a 10-lb wiener dog can sound like a beast 4 times it’s size–I just think they try harder…
To all you deviled aig fans, enjoy, but I do not partake–never cared for eggs of any style.
All y’all take care.
14:40, and I’ve finished ‘dinner’. Yum. More wine!
Supper was OK - I need to learn more about asian seasonings. Plus I think I forgot the garlic and ginger in my teriyaki. Dammit.
I also forgot to put the relish in the deviled eggs, so I just put a little bit on top of each egg. It sorta worked.
Time to do the dishes.
Howdy Y’all! We did the virtual Vigil of Easter and the virtual Easter Service this mornin. Afterwards we “attended” virtual coffee hour. Not the same as in person, of course, but still enjoyed the services and chattin’ with folks durin’ the coffee hour. Zoom be neat! We feasted large around one this afternoon, then nappage ensued. I’m feelin’ a might hongry so I’ll go nosh after I post. All in all not too shabby for a quarantined Easter Sunday. Oh, and I have dragged the biiiiiiiiiiiiiiig trash can all the way down to the road for pick up tomorrow.
MetalMouse your storms are headed this way this evenin’. We’re promised rain/tstorms/apocalypse overnight.
OK, rumbly tummy says nosh time!
Have a good evenin’ everybody. See y’all tomorrow!
Making poke chops with Pig Salt, sweet **N.O.T.**s, and sauteed green beans for Easter dinner. The weather is already looking nast. That that lady let her dog loose again today.
OW, are you sure you and ruble were legally married? Even in the Midwest, and aig plate is a married folk thing.
It’s rained all day. I went out twice when the patio umbrella fell over, taking the table with it. The second time, I got smarter and just took it down. :smack: Supper was a manchego - asparagus quiche with cucumber salad on the side. It was the first time in a few years that I’ve made pie crust. Mostly, I just buy it all rolled out and everything. It turned out well, although I thought it a bit salty. I think that the next time I make it, I’ll leave out the salt in the filling and crumble some bacon in instead.
My eggs are in the pickle. Back of the fridge.
When I do devil-ment eggs I mash the yolk with Kraft sandwich spread and sprinkle with paprika. That’s all. Hey, I don’t have a fancy schmancy egg plate either. Gotta get one.
I have three aig plates. We had burgers with sweet onion and homegrown tomato slices and dill pickles plus baked beans and chips. I was lucky to even get that made plus cleaned the kitchen. Fed the critters.

I am already ready for bed but shall force myself to stay awake until no later than 11 and hope I can get on a more normal pattern. I already took a Benadryl for allergies and plans some Mel later.
Wicked weather headed to metalmouses area and Red’s too and **doggioooo’s.**Hunker down. Lots of folks have lost their homes today and at the worst possible time with the plague upon us.
Rosie’s sig to all.
Just checking in with y’all. Those tornadoes looked nasty (they may still be going). I hope everyone is safe.
I haven’t had deviled eggs in forever, now I want some.![]()
swampie, stay safe from those storms.
