OK, since we’re signing up in advance, put me down for June 11 - I’ll be doing my next show that weekend, so I’m hoping to report that everything is sold and I made a gazillion dollars.
I’m a real, honest-to-goodness redneck. We waxed the port side of the boat, which had me standing with my back to the sun. I forgot sunscreen. Ouch! Tomorrow, we’re getting there super early to sand and repaint the transom and wax the starboard side before going into the water. The plan is to get there around 6:30 to be sure we’re all done before Jimmy shows up to put us back in the water.
Meanwhile, I’m exhausted and I’m starving. The supper fairy is late - probably gonna stiff us again. Damned supper fairy…
FCM like we ever doubted your redneckness! I say forget the supper fairy and summons the pizza fairy. The pizza fairy is always good.
Supper is et. It were good. I have been promised much “appreciation” for the shrimp surprise. Also, the coleslaw and N.O.T. salad is made for tomorrow’s shindig. I’ve been a busy bear! ACBG brought the watermelons and they’re chillin’ on ice in the big cooler on the back porch. The ribs are in marinade to be ready for grillin’. Tomorrow we’ll shuck corn for the corn on the cob which will be boiled in the outdoor cooker. Hey, why should it get left out of the preparations? Oh, and the baked beans are all prepped and ready to be cooked tomorrow also. See, busy bear here! Plus, a few beerverages have been consumed so a buzz is a’buzzin. Not too much that “appreciation” can’t happen though.
ETA:
FCM has two-stepped forward (hey, she’s a redneck so that’s the dance she knows) to be our hostess with the mostess for the week of June 11th.
All those in favor say “AYE”.
AYE!!!
All those opposed…oh shut up and sit down already!
::CRICKETS::
The “AYES” have it! FCM shall regale us with tales of how she completely sold out and can now retire a bazillionaire all from the proceeds from her f-aaaaaa-bu-lous pottery.
CanineServant, I visited a local branch of your store yesterday evening. I almost got run over twice by a girl running some sort of huge vacumn thing. I mean, really, it’s not like I’m small enough not to notice. I had to pick up hair clips and olives and envelopes and I almost got suckered into buying some cute little porcelain cats but I put them back. I really don’t need anything else to dust and I don’t need to buy crap when I’m unemployed.
Mr. SCL just talked to the hospital; his patient came through the surgery fine and is in stable condition. This is good news. He’s (Mr. SCL, not the patient) planning to go to a local nursing home he’s worked in before to see if he can pick up some hours. He really doesn’t want to leave this case, and I imagine he’ll be getting lots of overtime when he does start working because I am sure some of the other nurses have found other jobs.
OMIGAWD! Cable (and phone and internet) were out for 8 hours today! I was so bored! There are only so many games of solitaire a person can play! and thank Og for cell phones.
Anyway - skinny lady PTist came for the last time this afternoon - BioTigs will appreciate this - I have full 0 degrees extension and between 105 & 110 degrees flexion. Strong male PTist comes Tuesday (since Monday is a holiday) to help me with the stairs and (eventually) getting in and out of my car.
MMMMMM - nice house. Post pictures after you finish unpacking and decorating (the LR window needs a nice treatment) I would love to live in that house - it looks like just enough space for me and there are no stairs!
Nice dress, too - I especially like the overpiece.
That’s all - off to update my blog and then to bed.
I just made chocolate chip cookies with Ghiradelli chocolate chips. Who wants [del]one[/del] some? They’re really yummy! I even have ice cold milk to go with the gooey chocolate chips…
We went to a pub for dinner (they treated me) and I ate real food. Not toast. This is exciting! I feel human again!
I’m now waiting for Mr. Lissar to get back from his seminar at the dojo. I hope he gets home soon, because I’m going to sleep. Exciting Friday night stuff.
Does anyone want some cats? What is the coding for strike through?
Damn cats have managed - three times today - to knock a drink off of the desk. Each time it involves moping the entire office because the floor isn’t level.
Damned cats. Can’t live with 'em and not enough fur for a coat.
Something kinda amusing happened today. A bunch of us were all at That Guy’s apartment drinking beers. I was sitting next to the mini-fridge, and That Guy asked me to toss him a beer. I got one out of the fridge, and was about to hand it to him in a civilized manner when he told me to toss it to him. “Are you sure?” I asked him, dubiously. “Yeah, Haze, you’re in a man’s house now,” replied he. (I was the only girl, and there were 8 guys there.) “Okay,” I shrugged, then tossed him the beer. Except it went flying wild and grazed his head. Everyone started laughing, but then he took his hand away and there was blood. It was a relatively shallow cut, but still. One of our friends would NOT stop laughing, which in turn gave me a case of the giggles, although I was also a little bit horrified - the cut was on his face, next to his right eyebrow, and it looked like it could possibly leave a scar. He didn’t make a big deal out of it though, although it provided material for numerous jokes throughout the night.
Later, a couple of my friends commented on the fact that it was hilarious because 1) he literally asked for it by telling me to throw the beer when I was going to hand it to him, and 2) he actually probably deserved it after the way he treated me.
All right, off to bed. I’ll be able to sleep in for the first time in a week. Yay!
Sorry for your lack of cable/internet. There are a lot of things I don’t miss when they’re gone, but internet is not one of them.
I’ve missed a lot of the MMP and need to go back and look at stuff, but that’ll be later today.
First I’m going to the park to actually work in the beds (flower beds to those of you with mind-in-gutter-syndrome :p) Haven’t done that in a long time and I miss hanging out with the friends who aren’t part of the subgroup I also belong to.
Then I’m going to stop by to visit a friend who is having a garage sale near the park today.
Then I’ll come home and (I hope) work in my own garden.
One thing I was paying attention to is the volunteerism, so as [del]a reminder to any forgetful old fogey MMPers[/del] a public service, I have added upcoming OP volunteers to my signature. Maybe I’ll even remember to updated it as things change. I’ve never had a signature before and will probably forget to display it, but at least [del]I[/del] forgetful people can look at my profile and see upcoming volunteers…
Dang gt you’ll make this place look like it’s all organized. Now, we cannot have that, can we?
HazeBWAAAHAAAHAAAHAAA!!! Well, he asked for it and you gave it to him.
Ok, I’m up and caffienatin’. A certain somebody appears to be stirrin’ around. We both need to purty up and get busy with stuff for the big bash. I’ll be sendin’ him out to fill up ice chests whilst I commence to shuckin’ corn. Beerverages need to be iced down (not to worry, some already is) and I’ll probably give the pool a quick cleanin’ cause I’m sure there’s some leaves and/or bugs floatin’ around as there always seems to be. Sis and BIL will be here around noonish. YAY!!!
Razzin’frazzin’#!@#%$# smoke! It’s back again dammit! The good part is it usually disapates (dissapates?) in a couple of hours. Still, ICK!
Ok, party central is all set up. Got beerver and other ages all iced down. Cooler full of ice just for various and sundry drinks. CD player and tunes are set up. Floats, noodles, towels, sunscreen etc. all out. Big trash can is lined and ready. Snacks and munchies all set to go. Ribs marinatin’ and ready for the grill in a while. Corn all shucked and soakin’…ok… silked but the shucks are still on cause we be grillin’ the corn in the shucks. It’s so good that way! Oh and beans are all ready to go in the oven at the appropriate time. Plus slaw and N.O.T. salad are all ready. Oh, and watermelons chillin’! YUM! Now if the dang smoke will just go away! It’s gonna be fun at da cave today! Wish y’all were here.
Morning, all. Busy caffeinating. Sentence fragments contagious. Don’t know why.
Erm. Anyway, yay for real food, LiLi! And a double yay for 0°/105-110° extension/flexion, BioRosie! But a serious boooo! for no cable/phone/internet for eight hours – that is akin to the tortures provided by the Inquisition! I’m glad you survived. And a bwahahaha! to whapping The Guy in the head with a beer, Haze!
I’m sitting here telling myself to work this morning, but my horoscope says:
Which sounds to me like I should spend the day relaxing and knitting, right? I started an easy but cute scarf pattern in fingering yarn (i.e. thin but not as thin as lace yarn) yesterday, and it’s so cute and easy I’m going to have to work out some variations on it and make up a few more in various colors. That sounds like a good project, right? Either that or finishing up one of my unfinished projects…naah, those can wait. But alas, I do have some work I really should do. So I dunno. I think I’ll caffeinate some more and see after my brain is fully functioning.
Swampy, I got ribeyes. Ribeyes are my favorite anyway. Juicy, tender, and full of flavor. We had baked taters to go with them.
Today is a boating day. Right now we’re trying wake up, then we’ll be loading up the boat and heading to the lake. The sun is out and I hope it stays out.
Lil-li, I’m glad you ate some real food. I hope you cracked the whip with the rest of the folks and made them do chores.
I got my first-ever pedicure. It was heavenly. I can’t believe I’ve never done that before. I was in that chair for a good 45 minutes. It cost me twenty bucks, but I tipped ten just because it was so dang nice.
After that, I went to the store and picked up food and such.
Tonight we’ll have grilled boneless, skinless chicken boobies. I haven’t decided what to make with them.
