But he has similar lines on his chin and neck. I don’t think it’s meant to be a scar, I think it’s meant to be a highlight.
I still think it’s Elle trapped in a shipping container.
Not seeing it. Could be wood, could be metal. I don’t think there’s a need to read too much into that. That’s the scene. The vial scene already happened, too, when Niki attacked Mohinder. The DP was a little sloppy in matching things up exactly.
All that’s left is Mohinder firing, and Noah lying dead.
Those aren’t dates, their sequencing numbers. The last one, of Noah dead, is numbered 8/8, 8th in a series of 8.
March 2007 is “four months later” than the November date the bomb was supposed to go off.
According to here, Tim Sale confirmed it’s Niki.
Where’ve I seen that storyline before? Wolverine in the X-Men cartoon, maybe? With Forge or Cable…
It’s definitely Nikki in this episode, around the 41 minute mark. Same lighting, same corrugated surface in the background, as she’s first banging on the door.
Correction: The painter was sloppy in matching up the images.
From Greg Beeman’s blog:
And as long as I’m cutting and pasting,
I can answer this:
Matt was abducted in Season 1 by “The Company,” and it is likely and even hinted at that they keep track of all the people with powers. Likely they are all cataloged and their movements closely monitored. Of course Bob knows Matts power, they LET him live.
Good catch, though my follow up question is… how can they tell exactly what power someone has if the person hasn’t shown it yet? By what means could Bob et al. determine that Matt had much greater powers, equal to Maury, if Matt himself didn’t know and never showed it? I’m not saying you’re wrong, the Company may well know more about these people than they know about themselves, but how do they get that information?
That I don’t know. I would imagine they would have to if they know the extent of his powers, or it could have been a gamble. It wouldn’t surprise me to find out the company has somebody working for them that has the ability to gauge another’s power. Or the technology to do so.
Also, if kids inherited their powers, what about Micah (I think Nikki would know if she gave birth to him)? What about Claire’s mother who can control fires with her mind? How come Claire isn’t a phoenix and regenerates by catching on fire and coming out of the ashes (even assuming Adam is her father)?
If the powers are genetic, then it would make sense that they are carried down by their children (unless they can skip generations of course). I’m not saying it is outside of the realm of possibilities, just that I don’t see it happening in this storyline(it would make too much sense, as obviously the ability to have powers is carried on because you don’t see people with powers having kids that don’t have any at all, and from an evolutionary standpoint, if the trait is inheritable, it would probably be the same)
Recall that Matt is missing a day that the Haitian took from him. Admittedly it’s a fanwank, but in that time the testing they performed on him could have revealed the extent of Matt’s ability, which the Haitian’s tampering then concealed from him.
And, once again to all, Niki is spelled with just one K.
Kind of a meta-power, the power to tell what powers someone else has. Maybe the Haitian? We haven’t been shown that there’s some way to gauge the extent of someone’s powers, though, not definitively.
Niki didn’t know Micah had powers, and neither did DL. Remember the surprise when he showed up with a bag full of money he’d “talked” out of the ATMs?
Now I’m confused. The powers do seem to be genetic-- it seems that everyone who has a power has at least one relation who also has one. However, not EVERY member of a family has powers just because a relative does (Mohinder has no powers, even though Shanti did; Micah’s cousin, Monica’s brother, has no powers). Overall, it does seem to run in families, though until Matt/Maury, there seemed to be no pattern with who had what powers.
ETA: I didn’t see Otto’s last post when I made mine, mentioning the Haitian (great minds think alike) but I did spell “Niki” correctly anyway!
As I was watching this, and as a father of a teenage girl, I think the writers got a ‘typical’ teenage girl’s reaction right from Claire. Of course, moving is the smart, safe thing to do. But Claire doesn’t want to be told what to do, nor does she want to just leave her first boyfriend.
Mohinder is dumb as a brick. Bob and Noel are equally ambiguously evil.
Told you Takezo Kensai was not Linderman, which seemed to be the most popular guess.
I’m guessing that the longer the jump in time/space, the more inaccurate Hiro is, with stress and planning time contributing factors. That’s why he was able to save Ando from Sylar quickly in season one (he had time to prepare while Sylar played typical bragging villian), but couldn’t return from his excellent adventure (which started with an emergency jump) until many months later.
I wonder if having two powered parents makes a difference in the development of an offspring’s powers. Claire has different powers from both her mom (fire) and dad (flight). So does Micah. So, presumably, do the Petrelli boys. Matt, on the other hand, for all we know only had one super for a parent–his dad–making it more likely they inherited the same power.
For once, I don’t think Mohinder was being dumb, as he usually is. He had a choice between two evils to make – evil Bob and the Company, and evil Noah and his family.
Mohinder just decided to go with the evil that would not end up with 93% of the world dead, even if that meant that Noah’s family and most of the heroes would end up captured and being experimented on.
He knew he was faced with two bad options, but that he had to make a choice. So he did.
Although I did sort of think that Bob’s reaction had an implied “Why are you telling me this (you idiot)?” to it.
Did both Molly’s parents have powers?
Sylar killed them both without opening their heads, so I’m guessing not.
I thought the dad’s head had been cut open?
