I would say, and it might be simple fanwanking again, that Bob knew because he knew Maury at a younger age. Probably Matt’s dad started at the same level and grew into his current powers with time, so Bob chanced that Matt would be on the same learning curve.
Did anyone else have a problem with the dialog track cutting out during the last 20 minutes?
I’m going to blame the time change and a general restless night if this sounds wacky, but…
What if it’s not Mohinder who kills Noah? He’s not a killer (he couldn’t kill Sylar when he had the chance). The painting shows him holding the gun, not firing it, necessarily.
Instead, what if Mohinder draws down on Noah but can’t kill him, and then Clare does shoot? We know Clare has the killer instinct, from when she ran the car into the wall with the rapist football player in it, after all.
I had thought that maybe she’s not really kissing someone in the background of the last painting – maybe it’s a struggle? Like for the gun?
Well, that must have been all it was, because it didn’t make any sense from a medical point of view. If you think someone might have been exposed to a virus, scrubbing them down isn’t going to do a whole lot of good. That’s for radiation and toxic spills. Certainly, after scrubbing them down, you don’t assume that the person is non-contagious and hang out with them. You put them in quarantine for a few weeks to see if they start bleeding from the eyes and leaking green foam.
That Adam/Kensei guy can really carry a grudge. 500 years later and he’s still (presumably) pissed at Hiro?
One thing I love about this show: comicbooks have villians called Magneto and Doctor Doom. Heroes has Maury.
I like the show. Admittedly not as much as last year but I still like it quite a bit. I never understood the Niki hate. Not the best plotline but nothing that I minded too much. Even with the twins I don’t feel any hate. I do wish they would push it along a bit but I am assuming they are going to be important later on. (I like what they did this week, if there is nothing important to the story for the twins to do then don’t have them on) I didn’t understand the hate until now.
I *hate * the Claire storyline. Since the beginning of the series I have not had the urge to fast forward through a scene. I almost did it while Claire and West were doing the Ipod shuffle. They last thing I want to watch is teenage angst, even with superpowers.
Forgot to say that I am beginning to agree that Kensei is going to turn out to be like Peter. Bob showed that newspaper clipping to Nathan implying that Adam could control the weather. That’s two powers. They will probably show that he got Hiro’s power but didn’t know it at the time. Kensei probably bounced himself forward. Which is too bad. I was hoping that the Clairepower also meant imortality or extreme long life.
On the other hand if he was like Peter why would he need Maury to do his dirty work, he would already have Maury’s power. Oh well, it’s not like they have closed up all the plot holes.
Machinations. A full frontal assault by Kensai (Mmm…David Anders full-frontal…sorry, where was I?) doesn’t involve machinations, and if you’ve been around for 500 years you’re all about the machinations.
Well, cool! I guess we know why Sylar ignored Molly then.
The painting shows him holding a smoking gun.
That’s not a plot hole at all. When Bob was talking to Nathan about saving Miami, he was talking about “we” and “us” saving Miami. He said that Adam was the one who had made them think that they could make a difference – not that Adam was the one who stopped the tidal wave.
Presumably, one of the other SuperFriends had the tidal-wave-stoppy power.
Edit: Huh. Looks like Molly is another nail in the “powers don’t inherit” coffin, since Sylar didn’t have her power, so her dad didn’t either.
If I was named Maury, I’d be a supervillian too! My parents would have been my first victims.
As far as I can tell, Adam and Maury are working together. Adam killed Kaito, Maury attacked Peter’s mom (whose name eludes me currently).
I’m still not sure what, if any, power Momma Petrelli has. However, I am now leaning more towards her having power than I was an episode ago.
Do we know what power Sylar got off of Molly’s dad? Wikipedia offered up nothing.
Maybe. But he did come back after Molly again. Unless that wasn’t Sylar at all but the same mystery figure who also pushed Papa Sulu off the building.
Hm. Yes, according to the painting shown on the Heroes Wiki page. But I somehow thought a different one was shown last night.
Anyone with TiVo or other DVR able to check?
I think that when Bob said that Linderman was “another” of Adam’s disciples, he was implying that Maury was one of those disciples, too. Making Maury’s rampage part of the “massive disaster to save the world” plot that Adam seems to have peddled to them.
Angela would seem to have been one of Adam’s disciples, as well, since she was with Linderman in trying to get NY blown up. And presumably Adam’s plot is what Kaito repented of.
Although that really doesn’t explain why Kaito didn’t expect it to have been Adam that came for him – if Adam had proposed the disaster-plan, and Kaito had turned against it, you’d think he’d’ve expected the guy trying to kill him was also the guy whose plans he’d gone against.
And also see-the-futurey or time-traveley power. Hey, maybe it was Future Hiro that joined up with them in the past to do good things?
Anyone know how many epsisodes they got in the can before the strike?
They’ve got 4 more episodes before the hiatus. Don’t know how long the hiatus is, so they may not have scripted many of those yet.
I know they were doing a hiatus show (Heroes:Origins maybe?). That is supposed to be a bunch of stand alone episodes which showcase characters not introduced yet. I don’t know if all of them have been shot yet.
According to Kevin Smith the Origins episodes have been put on hold and he is not sure if they will happen this season or not.
I think the planned hiatus is about 3 months if I remember correctly from last year.
I hate the planned hiatus. The show loses momentum for me when they do that.
Mohinder shot a supposedly helpless Sylar in the face, just because it didn’t work doesn’t mean he didn’t have the guts to do it. Sure, after knocking him out he did run away, but at the point he probably figured he couldn’t kill Sylar wether he wanted or not and getting the hell out was the best course of action.
Maybe Kaito was just surprised Adam came himself instead of sending one of his lackeys, maybe he didn’t even know Adam had escaped from whatever prison they had put him in.
My dad’s name is Maury. He is not, to the best of my knowledge, a supervillain.
Actually, his real first name is even worse (but it’s also my middle name so you’ll just have to ponder what could be worse than “Maury”)
He didn’t say “another.” He said “Linderman was Adam’s disciple.”
