I Don't Have A Topic For This MMP

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 72 Amurrkin out and partly cloudy with a predicted high of 87 and maybe rain this afternoon. We shall see. The big plan today is to go assist with mowage of the back forty over to the church house this mornin’. Hopefully that won’t take more than a couple of hours. If’n the rain holds off I foresee quality time at the cee-mint pond this afternoon.

MOOOOOOM OYKW just lurves the whirlpool bath tub. I hardly ever use the thing as I prefer showers, but he gets in the tub at least three times a week. He gets the water really hawt and stays in the tub at least an hour soakin’ and turnin’ the jets on and off. I could not stand that as I like my showers warm and the sooner I’m in and out of the shower the better.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants sustenance. I should also purtify a bit so as to be somewhat presentable around others. By that I mean brush my teeth and shave. That at least looks like I made an effort.

Happy Sattidy Y’all!

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work.

Forgot to say earlier, shake a snake is our endearment for Steak 'n Shake. It was steak 'n snake but over time it became shake a snake cause it amused us.

On that note I shall now purtify somewhat and head out to mow over to the church house.

Laterz!

Up, caffienating. I drove around for two hours after completing my temp assignment yesterday. Temping reminds me a lot of substitute teaching. You just sit there and make sure the phones don’t go crazy.

I made a new FB friend. One of the salesmen used to be the student manager of Mendenhell when I was at Pirate U and then a Pirateville cop. Nice guy.

I have finished painting (most of) the inside of FCD’s paint shop garage thingie. Yesterday, I primed and today I put a coat of white on the walls and ceiling. I’s exhausted!

I still have to do some laundry and I have to get some local 'maters to take with me tomorrow. And probably some other stuff that I’ve forgotten…

Howdy Y’all! Home from mowage of the back forty over to the church house. Although 'tis quite warm out, the humidity is down so it wasn’t so bad out there. Next is some N.O.L. and then quality time at the cee-mint pond. Life is good.

I went out for a walk after at Floodplain Park this morning and on the way back a guy pulled out in front of me. We just bumped so there wasn’t any damage done. I take this combined with the fact my sinus pressure is rising as a sign I need to stay home the rest of the day.

So OYKW prepares himself sousvide?

I got the car into Toyota first thing this A.M. (meaning getting up earlier than I do for irk). The verdict is that the catalytic converter is shot. They quoted me at $1600 to fix it. I asked if that was OEM parts and how much was labor. It was almost all parts. Then I asked about aftermarket parts. They said that they didn’t do that, but recomended a shop that did (4 Yelp stars). It will cost about a third going that route. It will still suck up my bonus this quarter though. Fortunately, it’s drivable until next month and I just passed emissions for my tags.

Several of the heathens will be here at 2 to get crafty. A couple are beading, one is crocheting and a couple of us are making Xmas cards. It’s a good social outlet.

Evenin’ all.

Irked. Chef mk3 (provisional) seems nice, if a little nervous and unsure about everything. Another one is also trying out on Monday.

Apparently I missed Drama; chefs mk1 and mk2 verrrry nearly came to an actual fistfight in the kitchen while I was away, hence the booting out of mk2.

I do feel a bit bad about not warning mk1, but I’m mostly just glad mk2 has gone. He honestly had such bad temper tantrums that he’s left large dents in the steel worktops from punching them. The guy has serious issues.

Mk2 also showed up yesterday and asked for his job back. Oddly, this didn’t have the desired effect.
'Tis hot today. My English constitution is not designed for this. I won’t tell you how hot, because the Southerners would snigger, but for here, it’s hot. Honest.

Since my last post, I’ve showered, dressed, lunched at Salsa’s, stopped for corn and 'maters, boiled some eggs, vacuumed, and tossed in a load of laundry that should be done about now. The eggs need to be deviled and there’s one more load of laundry to be done. Oh, and I emptied and partially refilled the dishwasher.

I think I need a nap…

Happy Saturday!

It’s cloudy outside but no rain yet.

Sunny here is the lone wildflower - I have no idea what it is. Other stalks are coming up, however I think wild violets are taking over. I hope they don’t choke everything else out.

It’s a lazy day. I’m getting stuff done but slowly.

I got the cat’s new litter box. I needed a bigger one because Adam could barely fit his fat ass into the box, which meant the occasional turd was left balanced on the side of the box, or landed on the floor. This one is so BIG! I’m not sure where to put it.

Don’t ya just hate it when you miss all the excitement Nuts?

I’m debating between meatballs or pizza for dinner.

Quality cee-mint pond time got cut short by a tstorm. So we visited with a couple of friends who were over and caught up on all the news that’s not fit to print, i.e. the gossip. 'Twas fun.

red I would never seal OYKW in an airtight plastic bag. :stuck_out_tongue:

The crafters are gone. We laughed, crafted and snacked for a few hours and actually got some projects finished.

Black bean burritos for supper.

I’m getting pretty annoyed with photobucket. Whenever I try to go there to see somebody else’s photos I get a message that says:
It appears that you are using an ad blocker that prevents display of images
please disable your ad blocker to continue to the site

No. I am not using an ad blocker that prevents display of images, I’m using an ad blocker that prevents the display of ads, ya twits!
I didn’t like them very much before. Now I really don’t like them.

A friend of a friend came by and offered to buy the suburban. He wanted to pay us in silver. Or he could bring us cash on monday. We said we’d take cash on monday. It’ll be good to get it out from in front of the house. I’ll kinda miss the great lumbering beast, for a few minutes.

Wifey was supposed to go see some guy tonight about selling his condo, so we drove out to one of the local wineries and had an antipasto tray and a bottle of pinot gris for an early dinner. (We needed to go there anyway for sumpin else.) It was very good. On the way home the guy called and re-scheduled for next week, so we came home and chilled instead. I fell asleep in my recliner. Could have it been the wine?

Mom, I’ve always thought it would be cool to take one of those river cruises in Europe somewhere. I’ve been out on the ocean a lot and, well, if you’ve seen one vast expanse of water… On a river cruise there’s always something to look at that isn’t water. I loves some old arcy-texture.

But I’ll bet you’d wrap him in cellophane, wouldn’t ya?
Which reminds me of one of my favoritest birthday presents ever.
Did I say that out loud? :o

Well, the antipasto tray has worn off so I guess I need to go rustle up a sammich or sumpin.

I don’t know what is up with photobucket either.
It wouldn’t let me upload from my phone, I had to email myself a copy of the pics, then download them onto the computer, and then upload them to photobucket.
One of the pics kept hanging up at 90%, so I finally canceled it, and then when I went back it was there.

Meatballs for dinner.

My father had a suburban. I liked it for highway driving but it was a pain in the city. I parked it in a store lot one time and it took up 4 parking spaces, so I always had to park way out at the end of the lot. The wheels wouldn’t fit inside the lines on the side, and it was so long it took up the space behind it too.

My mother has taken a bunch of cruises. She did the one to Alaska, but she flew back instead of taking the train across Canada.

She has been such a joy to talk to lately. Told me she bought a casket (already has a plot next to my father) and then said she thought maybe she’d rather be cremated and asked me if I wanted it. Tonight she said if she is still here next spring she wants to do something with the yard.
My nieces are having a rough time with Father’s Day this year, and this coming week they are going up to WV clean out their father’s house and put it up for sale.
I wonder how much they want for it. Not that I want to move, but from what I hear he has a beautiful piece of property.

crazy busy at work, and we had a Children’s Riot Festival, to boot. I stopped at the Bistro for a pint on the way home. The Satellite TV/radio went down ,and they had to reboot. First it was showing Windows boot stuff, then it stated showing Matrix Code:dubious: I made tacos with queso fresca and jalpenos, with a tequila lime cucumber cooler. And a whiskey milkshake for dessert.

17C?* :p;)

Not even if he used [Joan Crawford]WIIIIRRREEEE HAAAANNNNGGGERSS![/Joan Crawford]?

[sub][sub]*62 degrees 'Murrican[/sub][/sub]

I hesitate to ask what goes into that.

Jesus Christ. :dubious:

You do realize Summer doesn’t even begin until next week, right?

Just a wild ass guess, but[ul]
[li]Tequila[/li][li]Lime[/li][li]Cucumber[/li][/ul]
Glad I could help!

I’m pretty sure he’s not one of the ingredients, but just to make sure, please post the recipe as I mught just try to recreate it tomorrow night, though I have some raspberry cream ice cream in the kitchen fridge right now, so I’m thinking more Chambourd than whisk(e)y.

No ,but I did add the (Holy) spirit to it.

Add 1 chopped and peeled cuccumber, and half a lime to 2 quarts water. steep evernight
To a cooler glass:
pinch of salt
a small bit of Agave syrup
2 shot tequila
fill up with cucumber lime water
Stir and enjoy!

I just added a single serve Häagen-Dazs vanilla ice cream(1 scoop worth), a shot of Jack ,and added enough milk to make it smooth, and blended.

Up after a very broken night full of weird dreaming. I woke at least twice, tho I fell back to sleep each time. My dream was a weird melding of the place I worked in Florida, the place I worked before retiring, and the place I work now. It also involve a rather large, bitey critter like a giant ferret, plus a boxer (dog-type, not fighter-type) and a small buffalo (pet-sized) as well as 2 kids in the office. I don’t know…

In a few hours, I’ll be driving to my mom’s. Her remaining surviving sibling will be visiting with his remaining surviving daughters (I went to the other’s funeral a few months back.) I’m taking some Amish 'maters plus I made some deviled eggs because my gimpy new-kneed sister likes them and I’m nice, dammit! **FCD **isn’t going because he’s working. Still. For someone who was only going to work 3 days a week, he spends an awful lot of weekends working!

Anyway, that’ll be my day. Oh and I need to check Mom’s a/c when I get there. She can’t get it to turn on and I suspect it may be something stupid simple, like she can’t figure out the thermostat. My mom is smart about many things, but as soon as she decides it’s beyond her, she can’t seem to think her way thru solving the problem. Granted, it may even be beyond me, but at least I can check the breaker and such. Because I’m nice, dammit.

Happy Sunday!
