I looked and looked: A tentative MMP

FCM - No hurry - she may want to watch the auctions to give her an idea what’s out there in foreclosures.

Transmission went out on my car tonight. I had it replaced about 18 months ago, and it still has 6 months on the warranty. Hopefully that’ll cover all repairs. Meanwhile i"m driving my stepfather’s boat of a Grand Marquis.

StG

Yay for Rebo and tarra! And for a nice first day for swampy!

Glad the stress is letting up, Bobbio.

I have no idea what I did this evening, but it’s 11:30 p.m. and I’m still quite awake.

Off to knit for a bit, then sleepy-bye.

Hugs.

up, caffeinated, off to irk.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. 'Tis cold heah in south Jawja! 23 degrees Amurrkin! BRRRRR!

We never did get any of that predicted precipitation. It just went away. Right now it’s clear out. We have weird weather in these parts.

Today I’m goin’ to the senior center in Da Burg to meet the center director and to see some folks re their Medicaid Part D. That’s prescription drug plans. It’s enrollment time and I’ll be talkin’ with folks about drug plans to meet their needs and how to do so if’n any of 'em want to switch from their current plan to a different one. Sounds like a fun time don’t it!

Ok, need more caffiene and then have to purtify for work. I once again fact the dilemna of which one of my many stunnin’ and oh so fashionable outfits to wear. Why must my life be so hard!

Later Y’all!

So what does it mean when it was 20 Amurrkin at The VunderLair, and I thought it wasn’t so bad today?

Yesterday, it was 15 Amurrkin, and a stiff wind blowing.

Blurf. I’ll share my Maalox with anyone else who needs it.

YAY!!! I got the new job I applied for on Monday at work. $7000 more per year and I start Monday.

StG

It means that you could still see me riding past on my bike? Well, with good eyes. I used the scoot for work yesterday and we were basically around 20.

Cold, as long as I’m dry, isn’t that much of an issue for me. I would rather have 20 and a 60mph windchill than 50 damp and standing still.

Swampykins - depending on how much you learn of the Medicade system in the new <shudder> job, we may need your professional advice here and there in the future. The MIL will be out of her funds in a year or so and then we have to do the transition over. I’m guessing but I’m also betting that some of the forms and rules and stuff ain’t gonna make sense.

We’re not very chatty this week! It’s Thursday and we’re only on page 2?!

Congrats on the new job StG!!

I drove my parents old Grand Marquis for a while in college through the narrow streets of Troy, NY. That was fun. Especially in the winter when the rear wheel drive couldn’t get out of parking spaces with a few inches of snow behind the tires. I was very glad to see that go away and get a Jetta instead!

I made a coconut-milk-based chocolate pudding last night. It was goooooood. (Without the curry powder. We’ve found that we don’t like chocolate and curry even though it’s a popular combination.)

It’s snowing outside and I’d really rather be out playing in the snow than indoors doing work.

Congrats, StG! That’s great news! I’m still waiting to hear if I even made the list for a job I applied for over two weeks ago. It would be a promotion for me.

Bobbio, I’m glad the stress is starting to ease!

Swampy, it’s good that you had a good first day! Maybe that’s a good omen.

Well, I must work. It is, after all, what they pay me to do.

Keep your voice down so DH doesn’t hear you! We’re guilty of falling into the “Eh, what’s for dinner? Nothing’s thawed. Oh, just pop down to McDonalds for a sack of cheeseburgers and fries.” trap far too often.

Now, DH has to adjust to a more cardiac-friendly diet where cheeseburgers and fries are in the “Never” category and red meat is in the “Once in a great while” category.

It’s going to be an adjustment for me as well. One of our favorite places is home to a 1200-1500 calorie lunch. A bacon cheesburger “all the way” and fries is a heart-stopper, but so tasty… Accurate quip from their website: Your heart skips a beat when you see a grease stained brown paper bag.

Blurf.

Sorry for being away so much.

Tom Kitten is better. Yes, I actually call him that. He’ll love it when he’s 6"5 and 200lbs, I promise.

I am sitting at home, trying to decide what to give my inlaws for Christmas. We’re visiting them on the weekend. I’ve made a Middle Eastern nut and spice blend, and a lot of hazelnut granola, and my niece and nephew are getting toys. Oh, and I made wonton chips, and I think I’ll make two pans of raspberry coffee cake. I’ve just got to parcel it out.

Mr. Lissar gets to wrap all of it. I suck at wrapping.

gotti, I’m sorry about the adjustments. Big changes in the way you eat are so hard.

And just how often do you supposed the Amish call and order pizza delivery?? :dubious:

Incidentally, we’ve got a 5X8 open utility trailer that you’re more than welcome to use to move some of your stuff if you’re interested. Of course, if you’re not just passing thru the area with a vehicle that will tow, it’s a silly offer, but I thought I’d throw it out there anyway. I’ve dragged that trailer up and down I-95 more times than I can count…

**StG **- congrats on the new job! Drinks are on you then, right?

Everybody else, hugs 'n stuff. Today I can’t retain anything - bad night last night.

**taxi **- Happy Anniversary!!! In your honor, I think we’ll order pizza for supper tonight. Unless PapaJohn’s is backlogged with all them orders from the Amish.

I’ve got new (to us) end tables and a coffee table that raises up. Once someone gets home, I’ll get help to move them into the house and wipe them down with Old English before putting them in place in the living room. They’re not bad - the only thing I don’t like is the giant decorative nail heads around the edge of the table tops - not my preferred style. But they’re solid wood tables and they were cheap enough. So yay!

I also saw an ad for a 2-person hot tub. Very tempting…

I just got back from a rare trip to tarbuck. I was supposed to meet someone there but we were thirty minutes off from each other so we rescheduled for next week. I tried the pumpkin spice latte. It tasted simultaneously burned and scalded. Maybe I can convince Religious Lady to give Anarchist Coffee a try…

My Jawja cousin is being moved into long-term care soon. You might remember her as being the person whofainted and cracked her skull right before Thanksgiving. She’s stable, but brain injuries take a long time to heal. :frowning: The good news is that I finally have her family’s address so I can put them back on the Christmas Card List.

Now back to picking out my deathpool list. I’m getting evil this year. I think that means I’ve been playing too long.

The new tables are in place. **FCD **removed the brass nail trim thingies and I gave the tables a going-over with Old English scratch remover. They look pretty good! But the living room has now shrunk, since there’s a big table in the middle of the room. We had to move the hassock, so it now lives at the foot of our bed - a good place for shoe-putting-on.

Daughter is on her way back from the Urgent Care in King George. She had a lot of pain under her right shoulder blade and the school nurse said it could be gall-bladder related. Turns out it was a muscle spasm, so daughter is on her way home with muscle relaxers and a note saying she shouldn’t go to work tomorrow.

**FCD **is taking tomorrow off. His brain is fried so he’s taking a break. He deserves a day off. So do I, but I’m going into work. 'Cause I’m dedicated. And I’m hoarding my leave.

Supper is going to be assorted miscellany. I didn’t feel like cooking. Grilled cheese, anyone??

Howdy Y’all! I survived day two. I know y’all were worried.

Germy congrats on the promotion! YAY!!!

Spaz brain injuries do take a long time. She will need lots of love and support and it sounds like she has plenty of both.

The beast stew was teh num! I used the big slow cooker so I gots beast stew to freeze for heat 'n eat later.

Everybody else, yays, boos, hugs, noogies, smooches, wedgies, chitlins, trouts, how you doin’s as needed.

Left over corned beef and potatoes got poofed into hash with poached eggs. Then got et.

Mmmmmmm

We’re havin’ a little gatherin’ Sattidy evenin’. It’s the annual watchin’ of A Tuna Christmas. It’s an annual gala event as of last year when we did it and said we had to do it again this year. I bought some mini buns for little bbq sammiches (poke bbq which I happen to have in the freezer), meatballs, Tex-Mex dip, brownies and cookies (both bein’ brought by JDD and partner), other assorted goodies (brought by other attendees. this means I don’t know what it’ll be but hey party food!), assorted soft and adult beverages. Should be a fun time.

Why am I sharin’ this? Cause I share all truly mundane and yawny stuff with y’all. It proves how much I lurve this place!

Yummmm, real corned beef hash is my favorite. Pudding also sounds yummy, taxi, and has been added to the blog.

Happy anniversaries to the FairyChats and the taxis.

Yay on the promotion, StG! And fingers crossed on yours, Taters.

Sounds like a fun party, swampy! I’m going to a brunch Saturday morning; I think I’m bringing mini-cheesecakes.

Glad Tom Kitten is doing better,** LiLi**. I predict the nickname lasts until he’s…3. I remember my nephew getting indignant around that age when we would tell him that he was cute. He’d say something like “I’m not cute, I’m handsome.” Cracked us up.

It’s cold out, but brother and I are going for a walk…

Back later.

Hugs all.

GT

Home, tired.

Happy taxiversary!!!

Congrats on the promotion, Germy! Glad the transmission was under warranty.

: crosses appendages for Taters :
Glad Tom is better, LiLi.
