Ignored chores in the MMP

I’ve lost about a pound (you’ll note I’m not giving my exact current weight, which I don’t even tell DH (smile)), mostly by being more careful about portion sizes and substituting snacks (more nuts/dried fruit, less chips and baked sweet stuff, for example). BG is doing fine (I do several fasting checks per week, due to that “pre-diabetic” A1C). I had eaten prior to the appointment. She thinks I might simply have some oversensitivity to the lisinopril. She also wondered a bit about the baby aspirin, but decided that needs to continue due to the TIA. My doctor does firmly believe that adjusting diet and exercise in directions that would lead to weight loss anyway would be a very good thing, but she hasn’t specifically commented on the weight issue. She just wants to see healthier general habits, which she’s not wrong about. She did say it would be good to get me off meds once it can be done safely, which I’m inclined to agree with.

Evening all. Ended up at the Metro Diner for a 3-cheese grilled cheese with ham and tomato with fries and sweet tea for under $14 (not including tip). Not bad for a nice sit-down place. Home now working the Wednesday Sudoku’s and Jumble’s and still have the crossword puzzle to go (maybe tomorrow).

Well, the trip down I have extra days built in for 'just-in-case" events, but coming home will be: debark ship, fly 3.5 hours to Buenos Aires, 5 hour layover, 9 hour overnight flight to Miami, 3 hour layover, and 5.5 hours to get home via Atlanta (you know as well as I, swampy, that if the Good Lord ever visits the Southern USA, He’ll have to change planes in Atlanta). I suspect that will wear me down a little…

red, safe and happy travels!

Nettie, y’all take care now, y’hear?

…Checks own prescription…Lisinopril 30mg… :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Sunny, think you’re being wise to get the procedure now rather then down the road. Hope it works this time and being a bossy bystander is a pretty cool gig…

FCM, saw the pictures on the book of faces, they sure are happy kids (of course, you’re too busy to take pics when they aren’t happy…)

Oh, one last thing, got a Official-looking letter with a document the looked (superficially) like a US Government item talking about a “New Benefit Update for Alabama Residents”. Did a little checking and it’s a scam so into the shredder it goes. Wonder how much information they do collect with it, thought…

OK, onward into the evening. Everyone take care.

I have a tendency toward odd medication reactions. Tylenol can sedate me. We also might well have different causes for BP issues and overall different clinical pictures. If you’re not having any adverse reactions to your dosage, good deal (please note that you should prioritize your doctor’s advice well above my remarks).

I guess I made chili-cheese doge a couple of weeks ago. I finally finished off the rest of the )canned, no-beans) chili tonight. I cooked two, split Hebrew Nationals on a cast-iron frying pan on the side-burner of the barbie, covered them in the chili, and put some medium cheddar on top. It was good even without bread.

It wasn’t THAT hot between 8 and 8:20 this morning (phone was sure it was low 70s). I’d also been indoors in AC for close to an hour before this incident. I AM ruling out the second shingles vaccine causing trouble, since I had no such issue with the first one two months ago. I felt a bit yecch for a couple of days and the sore arm took most of a week to calm down, but that fell well into the range of normal vaccine reactions, so far as I could tell.

I’d felt OK most of the morning until a few minutes before I needed to leave, when I started feeling weak and drained. Did make it to the appointment, walking below my normal pace.

Are you a natural redhead? There are a lot of redheads in my family. Odd medication reactions are their normal.

I’m glad you didn’t go on a crash diet, they rarely have good results.

I hate scammers. I could go on a good rant about them, but I’m kinda stoned and don’t rant well when I’m high.

I’m going to be eligible for Medicare in December and the amount of snail mail/scams I’m getting is insane. I was pitching everything because I was waiting to see what would happen with the latest bill but I guess I need to start paying attention now.

Made sauteed chicken with Aldi Nashville Hot Chicken seasoning with rice and a salad for dinner. Had a Negroni tonight, I used Tanquray Seville Orange in it. A bit more bitter than with #10.

EEK! I hope they find out what happened.

Yay for Wheez and WetOne!

Wordy, don’t be too hard on your self. You did what was best at the time.

When are you going to come and visit? Hubs is frantically cooking up all of his processed malt beer kitss so he can play with his fancy pants beer pot and is running out of bottles. He needs someone to help empty them!

I’m not liking the dry mead and hubs bought stuff to make more of what I do like, so that means he is going to end up pouring the dry mead out so he can reuse those bottles. (Honey has also gone up, this batch of mead is going to cost double the last one.)

Gordie can come too. We keep the bully cat locked up and the clover patch is high enough to hide the neighbor’s cat. It would be really great for the neighbor cat to be surprised by a dog in our yard.

No, natural color is lightish brown, or used to be. I was quite surprised when I got a haircut not very long ago to find out how gray I’m getting.

Another stoopit multiple wakeage night, but I slept till after 6, which is really unusual for me. SIL will be here in less than an hour with the Crawling Menace. FCD is still abed, which is good - he had a rough day yesterday, but his neurosurgeon adjusted the dosage on one of his meds, and we’re hoping that might help.

Other than that, just another day in paradise. I won’t be taking Tobias into the yard because it’s a soggy mess after all the rain last night. But we’ll have playground time after I pick up Roxy. And between now and then, I need to figure out what to do for supper. So, onward…

Happy Thursday!!

Quite tired today. I blame the shingles shot. Nice nurse informed me that now that I’ve gotten two doses, won’t need to do it again. Ever. Would be nice if that really is going to cover the rest of my life.

Gotta do some fridge plowout and organizing now that some more containers arrived from Amazon, but otherwise, it’s probably sloth day.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 72 Amurrkin out and cloudy/rainy(ish) with a predicted high of 85 with rain/tstorms/apocalypse predicted throughout the day. Fine by me as I have no plans to go anywhere nor any desire to go anywhere. Thus we shall stay inside and dry while workin’ on our sloth skills. Sup shall be either majik intartoobz pizza and sallit or shall be via forage.

MetalMouse doggio’s custom made hand basket with all of us in it will no doubt have to pass through Etlanner en route to our final destination.

Nettie hope you’re feelin’ better today. Take it slow and easy, OK?

sunny I am sure it’s best to get the procedure over with. Do not feel guilty as you loll about and order others around durin’ the big move.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah,

Happy Thursday Y’all!

Morning all. Watching a freight train manifest roll through Elkhart on Virtual Railfan youtube, it just passed so will try another camera site. Up around 6am and took both garbage and recyclables to the curb, so that is enough work for the morning. 66F heading for 88F today, so another good one to spend inside.

Nettie, echoing swampy in hoping you’re doing well today. And yeah, got my two shingles jabs last year and that is all done.

OK, need to break my morning fast and maybe think about doing something. All y’all take care.

Good morning everyone.

It’s currently 70 degrees and the expected high is 92. It didn’t really cool down overnight and the house seems extra stuffy this morning. I have all the windows open and fans going. Blech.

Nettie, I hope you’re feeling better today and the docs find out what the heck is going on.

sunny, I agree with Swampy. The sooner you get the surgery done, the sooner (hopefully), you can put the leakage behind you.

Yesterday was filled with lots and lots and lots and lots of work. Today will be the same. Rah. I was disappointed, but not surprised, to find that stuff I told the MPA to handle, was not completed. So, I have that to contend with too, but I was expecting that and had padded my calendar to allow for that.
The state director is very, very happy to have me back and expressed that numerous times, so I guess that’s good. What it means is that she didn’t feel fully supported in my absence, so I need to try and find a way to motivate the MPA to pick up on some of this. It’s a conundrum. I’m not her boss and I’m not about to trash talk her to our boss, so I need to find a way where we all win; the MPA gets better at her job and can handle more, and I can finally shed some of the stuff I am carrying and quit cleaning up, and the SD and National offices feel supported.

I am going to finish my coffee and get the kitchen tidied before I start work. I hate a messy kitchen.

I have fever-like aching and sensitive skin, temperature is 96.8 (I usually run in the 97-something range, but have recently been in the 96-something range). So glad I won’t have to do the shingles shot again, this one kicks me around about as badly as a flu shot.

Just got the Tobester down for his nap. According to SIL, he didn’t get to sleep till after 11 and he was up around 6, so a short night for him. He was cranky while we were in the basement, which is a good clue. Here’s hoping for a couple of hours of peace.

Afternoon, mumpers! It’s a delightful 19c/67f with a predicted high of 21c/70f and cloudy. Weather app says “It’s overcast and mild. Shut your fucking pie hole and grab your raincoat just in case”. Wise words, since it’s looking quite grey out there. Apparently humidity is 90% and there’s a 70% chance of rain. That’s my kind of forecast.

Last night it was cool enough not to need aircon or fans, and we had the windows open for half the night. 'im indoors comes to bed long after me, and always closes the windows because he says there’s too much traffic noise in the morning. I was rewarded with snuggles from Whisper (who dislikes both aircon unit and fan), and some warbling from Spare Cat who came in at some point, presumably to see what nice food was left lying around.

nettie I hope you are feeling better today, and the doc can get to the root of the problem.

sunny fingers crossed that your surgery is soon and goes well. If you have to be the bossy person in charge of the move, then that’s the way it is. Surgery is far more important.

wordy big hugs to you, just 'cos. I think you did the best you could in a bad situation, you put those kids first and made sure they were in a safe place. What your friend did, and what happened afterwards, that’s a product of her poor decisions. You’re not responsible for her or her life, it’s sad that she passed away but that is not your fault. You have nothing to feel guilty about, feel sad for your friend and how things turned out, but don’t feel sad for yourself.

I went to the pub last night, 'im indoors broke the kettle. The two incidents are not related, but there was a serious risk of having to make tinker’s tea this morning. Fortunately Da Jungle delivered a fancy new kettle this morning so life is back on an even keel.

Googling took me in several weird directions. What do you mean by it?

Also: YOU GUYS I can see my left ankle bone again! Thank you once more Nurse Boo for the wise advice.

About to commence four straight days on my feet (on hard tile floors - I wish they’d get some of those squishy pads for us to stand on) so we’ll see how puffy they are by the time my next Blessed Day Off rolls back around.

You make me smile. :hugs:

Noooooooo

I can’t remember if I mentioned that Beamette’s school has already called with her first COVID notification. I’m so glad that the CDC has decided to relax their restrictions.

Yoshi continues his mission to tell the world about the CRIMINALS who are walking in the park. They are not passing our fence line, but he can SEE THEM; he must tell the world. Consequently, Yoshi has been spending most of his time inside.

Happy Thursday everyone!

I need to do the laundry. In all likelihood I shall lounge about and order groceries and not much else, however.
