I'm getting laid too much.

  1. Who really gives a fuck?

  2. It’s no surprise that AIDS continues to spread in the gay community , with behavior like this.

  3. Don’t think for one minute I’m jealous; I have a beautiful wife who loves me and two great kids. The sex we have is out of this world.

Pharmboy-methinks he doth protests too much.
Esprix, you wanton harlot!

:stuck_out_tongue:

Espirix: You suck.

Not a value judgement, mind you.

Just my theory why you’re so popular.

Oops. Oh, well, I like Rasa’s spelling better anyway.

Obviously you do - you not only read this thread, but you posted to it.

A. AIDS cases are currently, and for some time now, rising fastest among heterosexuals.

B. Evidently you missed the part about safe sex.

Congratulations. And until I find someone to spend the rest of my life with, I’m going to enjoy being single.

Now then, where’s my little Canadian boy, hmmm? There, there, pet - come visit me in warmer climes and we’ll see what we shall see, eh?

Esprix

Hey Esprix I started a pit thread for him.

The seething sarcasm slays me! (teehee!)
Hey, I (kinda) know how you feel: the first week or so that I was back in college after getting out of the Marines, I got crazy laid. Well, four different women in ten days witha couple of interspersed repeats, anyway. Nothing like feeling like you are the king of the world and everyone wants you…<sigh> Seems so very long ago.
<shuffling off to the jealous corner>

What, all of you together? And you think Esprix’s behaviour is morally dubious!

That is the best retort to this guy yet! Very good catch!

Moderator Notes:

  1. Mind your language, PharmBoy. This is MPSIMS, in case you failed to notice.
  2. Your ludicrous statement about AIDS is extremely insulting. It has no bearing on Esprix, or any other gay man that does not explicitly state he is having unprotected sex with multiple (and changing) partners. I’m not going to educate you on AIDS, though. Look it up yourself.
I am, however, officially warning you for making a defamatory insinuation. Do it again, and you’re out of here. Yes, I take it this seriously. We’re fighting ignorance over here. Time to show us on which side you are, PharmBoy.
  3. If there’s one thing I’m not interested in, it’s your sex life. But hey, at least you’re not jealous.

Watch your step.

Noted.

That sounds like a threat. It’s strange to me how someone “fighting ignorance” can’t seem to tolerate a dissenting view. Maybe you don’t know this, but condoms fail. I think it is foolish for a gay man to have multiple sexual partners in the current epidemiological climate, and I’ll continue to say so, even if YOU don’t agree.

What I find most pathetic about Esprix’s posts is screwing seems to be the only way he defines himself. He shouts to the world “Look at me , I can have sex” and acts like it’s some big accomplishment. It’s not offensive, it’s just pathetic.

  1. If there’s one thing I’m not interested in, it’s your sex life. But hey, at least you’re not jealous.

What a zinger.

Yes sir, sir.

What gave you the idea I was looking for an explanation, PharmBoy?

Don’t answer that. Please. Kindly go away, and make sure I don’t spot you doing something stupid again in the next week or so. OK?

Many thanks for the support, Coldfire.

Ah, the cry of the newbie. This oughta be amusing…

Say, that’s a good point. So I don’t think any heterosexuals should have sex, either, since in the “current epidemiological climate” they’re spreading it faster than anyone. Or minorities, for that matter. Really! Just stop that, right now!

 Well, thanks for the laugh! That was great! And for anyone who actually reads the SDMB, I’ll let my many, many months of posting here speak volumes for itself. “Only way he defines himself” - you crack me up, kid!

Esprix, the Original One Trick Pony

In Esprix’ defense: besides gay issues, he also posts a lot about interior decorating, Broadway Musicals, Bette Midler, flower parades, Bronski Beat and cooking.

PharmBoy, there is a thread dedicated to you here. You might want to go there if you want to argue this, stay out of trouble.

You forgot to mention Judy Garland, Coldfire.

While I share PharmBoy’s misgivings about promiscuity (from either side of the fence), Esprix’s a big boy [sub]or so we’ve heard[/sub] and presumably knows the risks involved.

And Esprix? “Too much” for what?

Now I have this horrible image of someone holding me up as a model for the safe sex = abstinence crowd. “Look at Matt! He’s not having any sex at all!

In that case, matt, you should be here.

So, you’re complaining you’re getting “laid too much.” Now, is that really a complaint? Or are you just bragging? Then again, should we believe you?

No, no no. Pharm did not say homosexuals should not have sex. He said he thought it was foolish for a gay man to have multiple sex partners. Pharm was wrong if he was strictly indicating only gay men were at risk.

I personally think it is foolish for **anyone ** gay or straight to have multiple sex partners (safe or unsafe). I am not necessarily supporting or disagreeing with Pharm’s views; I just think he may have been misquoted out of context. He said gay men because the thread was about the promiscuous activities of a gay man. Did he mean specifically gays only? Hard to say. I give him the benefit of the doubt because of the nature of this particular thread. <slight rant/hijack>Isn’t this whole PC craze because of some people assume a slight or slam in any and every situation, when it wasn’t necessarily intended, in which every little stance/instance/example isn’t spelled out in excrutiating detail? I am not necessarily saying this was the case with Esprix/ColdFire (Ok, so maybe I am a little  </slight rant/hijack>

My view? ‘who gives a f***’ is a bit silly, considering we have all viewed and some have posted replies – obviously we are interested enought to read on

And yes, AIDS is a danger for gay men (and of course straight men and women), regardless of whether or not it is a (greater or lesser) risk for others with different sexual bents. I assume Esprix does understand the risks involved to himself, even with protected sex, but doesn’t that mean he is still in danger of being infected and then passing it on?

I will honestly admit that I am somewhat behind (I think) on the latest AIDS information, so maybe I am missing something really, really big and important. Please correct me if I am wrong on this.

Anyway, Coldfire, I don’t think his second statement would be cause to ban him. And I also respectfully submit that indicating you are not going to listen to any of his explanations or replies goes against the nature of SDMB. Perhaps this thread is not the place for it, but he should have (within reason) a chance to be heard.

Let me (restate) that at this point I am neither supporting nor disagreeing with Pharm’s post in total. I just think ColdFire’s response was a bit extreme, unless the beef is that this was not the appropriate forum.
