It’s a sunny 75 degrees out, supposed to get up to 92 today. It’s supposed to rain later.
Summer is here.
Nothing on the agenda today except irk, and I should do some laundry. There’s ground beef in the fridge so we’ll be having hamburgers for dinner, or lunch, or maybe even both. Hamburgers for me, cheeseburgers for him.
Happy Thorsday! I am up (obviously), sheveled (you hope) and at irk. It is irksome. I’ve had two meetings this morning, I have two more this afternoon. Nothing exciting, but i means I have notes to write up from two of 'em, and stuff to do from the other one. Meeting number 4 is about “planning” so I guess that also means irk coming my way.
Two more days until the cats have to be deposited in the moggery for their break from us, and we get to pack for Hungary. Knowing the friends we’re staying with, I’d better pack my drinking trousers.
Gah. I am annoyed by an email sent by a co-worker. It is similar to many emails I have had before, and I am well aware that people here do not understand tone or tact. I want to send back a point-by-point rebuttal, but feel that would be escalation, and I just don’t care enough. I’m not saying all his points are invalid, but if he had waited until I came back to the office and asked me about some of it, I could have answered him.
So I have deleted the email because looking at it makes me more annoyed.
Yay. Neighbor has mostly forgiven me. She came over this morning and said she’s still hurt, but after ten minutes of talking, we were back in our rhythm. I’m glad and so is Smokey. All week she was meowing around the chair neighbor likes to sit in “Where’s Auntie Neighbor?” she meowed. Today she jumped up onto neighbor’s lap, headbutted her, and went back to her sleeping box
**rosie **- yay! Sounds like she just needed a little cooling off period.
Busy, busy morning. I’ve taken it upon myself to make some design changes without talking to the boss. I know I’m right, so I done did it. We’ll see if the doo-doo hits the fan later.
Got my quarterly checkup out of the way this morning. I asked Doc for recommendations for a practice in the town where I’m moving for once I get settled. But I did set my next appointment for October.
We had serious thunderboomers last night/wee hours this morning. Two phone alerts woke me up and I had to reset my alarm clock once because the power had gone out.
BLURF Irking but just for a little bit longer. I had some really long days so I need to leave at 3PM to avoid getting into comp time. I finally got my new employee. She is smart so it shouldn’t take too long to train her. Couple of weeks she should be good to go.
Hubby bought me a china cabinet to display the gorgeous china my dying friend gave me. It will be here next Tuesday. I get to spend the weekend cleaning out the area where it will go and moving junk around to make room for it.
This winter I will have a giant yard sale to get rid of tons of stuff I no longer want or need. I figure if I wait until the snowbirds are back it will be better.

Oy. The neverending mortgage saga. The mortgage company accepted the gift letter Airman faxed, and all he has to do now is write out a short note explaining how he knows the guy who gave him the money.

How far do they look back? Just wondering as I’m fairly seriously thinking of buying a house next spring/summer. Why do they care where you get money from, anyway?
That assumes I survive the winter. Saw the EP (a cardiologist who specializes in rhythm and electrical disorders) earlier this week and I apparently have a weird variant of long QT. I’m on meds now to hopefully keep the problems away, but he’s recommending an implanted cardiac monitor to provide continuous monitoring for a year or more. If I still have problems on medication, the next step may be an ICD or implanted defibrillator. All the while with the recommendation to avoid physically or emotionally stressful situations. Uhhh, doc… about that emotional stress…
Howdy Y’all! My irk week is over! YAY! This time next week my irk week will be over forever. That is unless I do decide to do some part-time irk at some point which is a possibility. Not for a while though. I intend to spend some time sittin’ out in a lawn chair in my front yahd yellin’ at the neighbor kids and speeders.
Dindin will be sammiches and chips. Not in cook mode tonight.
{{{gotti}}} sounds like a ton 'o health problems there. Hope things do get better.
rosie yay for better neighbor relations! A headbutt is cat for “welcome back, I missed you.”
It’s not that they look back. They look at your bank statements from the time you send in the application until the time you need to close. If there are any large deposits, or anything that seems out of the ordinary, you have to document them. My mother and brother both gave us money, and both had to sign forms explaining where the money came from; my mother had to prove that she is self-employed. So it’s a royal pain.
BUT SO WORTH IT!!!1!!! We got the clear to close today, so settlement is next Thursday. Then we get to spend the next 30 years of our life paying for it. :D:cool:
Hamburger Helper and Amish corn for supper. **FCD **installed our new shower head - I meant to do it last weekend, but I wasn’t braining too well. No more will I have to cup my hands and get water to throw against the far wall of the shower to rinse it off. Ah, civilization, thou art a hand-held shower head!
gotti, the mortgage lender wants to know if it’s money that you will have to repay. They want you to make your house note every month. And hugs on the heart thing. Dad had a defibrillator implanted a few years ago and it has helped him tremendously.
rockin’, thirty years paying and the next six months packing, unpacking and settling in.
Speaking of packing, the studio is about a third packed now. I figured I would get a little ahead this afternoon because I will have a busy weekend or two before moving day.
Sammiches have been ingested. ‘Tis hawt out, so glad to be in an a/c cave. All is good for now. I shall enjoy my day off tomorrow by mowin’. On Sattidy I shall go help mow the back forty over to the church house. Tell me I don’t know how to have a jam packed fun weekend!
Rockin’ congrats! Now you really get to see how much crap y’all have accumulated. Fun!
Wow, **swampy **- think of all the mowage you can accomplish after you retire! There’s your post-retirement career!
Supper has been ingested. Dishes are done. I want to snooze, but I’ll force myself to stay awake till at least 9.
I’d forgotten that today is payday, or, in reality, day to transfer our money to VISA. But that’s because most of our bills are paid via VISA - it’s convenient and we get cash back, so win-win!
I use my debit card rarely - our credit union sent me a new one, and it’s not embossed. It does have the chip and it works for getting cash from an ATM, but if I go somewhere that still processes the cards manually, I’m in trouble!! Does anyone do it that way these days??
I got a new car today! Well, it’s new to me. It’s a very well maintained 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt. It’s bright red, which gives it a sporty look.
The money I got from the H&R driver’s insurance pretty much paid for it, all I had to do was lay out about 250 dollars more.
I’ve got to get a second key made, since it has a chip that costs more than your average key. I got new insurance arranged, and a 60 day temporary permit. When the title arrives in about three weeks I’ll get a permanent license tag.
When I drove it away it looked so nice I got the feeling everybody was aiming to scratch or dent it.
