It's Moanday So Here Is The New MMP

Snow finally stopped.

Somebody, no idea who, shoveled the main sidewalk so Sah-son only had the do the short piece from the porch to the main sidewalk.
He didn’t shovel out back because it started to rain, so I expect a repeat of last time and having an iced over back yard.

Tonight is Hap and Leonard night, the only show I look forward to watching.

I’m sorry about your co-worker {{{Red}}}

Spidey Adam is pretty patient but I don’t know if I could get that on him.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 42 Amurrkin out and clear, well, dark, with a predicted high of 64 and N.O.S. for the day. Today will be another day of kitchen, laundry room and bathroom makeover. Also need to get some laundry done which I have already started since I am up already. Since the laundry room is off the kitchen where most of today’s stuff will be happenin’ it will be good for me to get laundry done and stay out of the way. Sonny’s bbq will provide tonight’s sup. YUM! Plus we have a buy one get one half priced coupon.

{{{red}}} so sorry about Amanda. Suicide is always sad but seems especially sad when it’s someone as young as her.

A friend of mine has a cat, a dawg, and a cockatiel. Those three would engage in all out war with each other from time to time. Other times they would all be the bestest friends evah. Go figure.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then, onward into the day! Rah.

Happy Thursday Y’all!

Mornin’. {{{{{{{anyone who wants one}}}}}}

I’m still at the screeching out scales stage. It’s going pretty slowly 'cos skool irk has currently taken over and I’m trying to practice only when the neighbours are out, so I’m not doing as much as I should. I should get more play time soon. Deadlines approacheth.

Got a course meeting this afternoon. Might be interesting.

**Spidey **- there’s an inaccuracy in the info about that candy bar: “Take weeks to consume” Is that supposed to be a joke? Or a challenge?

I’m in the office. The roads were all just wet and the temp stayed in the 35-36° range the whole way. Today, we’re promised sun and 40s - I left the windows in the car cracked since it’s wet inside from melted snow. A dark car and intense sun could mean it’ll get hot enough to dry out by 3:30. Here’s hoping.

I’m feeling all the shoveling in my arms this morning - delayed ache. I may end up popping a coupla Tylenol before the morning is over.

Weird dreams last night, involving Kevin Spacey, Ahnold, and Danny DeVito - and in the dream, Danny was only 2’ tall. I know he’s short, but not that short! Dunno what happened, tho - the alarm cut the dream short.

Happy Thursday! Where’s that monster Tobleron???

Happy Thorsday!

It’s a cold 28 degrees outside, but at least it’s not snowing.
Supposed to get up into the 40’s and then back down to below freezing, which means everything is going to melt and then freeze into ice.
If the back sidewalk freezes over and we can’t get out to the truck to go to the store, well like I said yesterday, I have enough food for two weeks, he is the one who will have to eat stuff he doen’t like.
Can you tell I’m annoyed?

I don’t know if it is the thyroid pills, but I have slept through the night for the last 4 nights and haven’t been napping during the day.
I’m starting to feel a little more normal.

Much to do and not enough time to do it all, the fun never ends.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off today. Gonna get new tires on the Volvo, then hockey.

My friend Tammie died in the wee hours of this mornin’. :frowning: I have no idea yet what this will mean re gettin’ stuff done at da cave for the rest of the week, but if the folks who are doin’ the work feel they need to be with the family right now that will be fine by me. They really are so close it’s just as if they’ve lost a family member as well. Tammie was a member of our Lutheran group at the church. We were close in age and sometimes made jokes about some of the hymns and worship music that were from our youth, callin’ it some of that “hippy dippy happy 70s Jesus music.” She was an excellent musician and had a wonderful deep alto voice. I’m really gonna miss her.

I know its a dog and I love dogs. But every time I see “Mauser” my first thought is “another lover of classic firearms!!!”
Yesterdays snow is already slowly melting. This was a super-heavy wet snow of about 10 inches and the ERs around us were really busy with chest pains and other related problems. In other words a serious Widow-Maker Snow. There is going to be a lot of refreeze over the next few nights so the auto-body shops should do real well. Our kin are still planning on coming in for a visit tomorrow so there is still that to look forward to.

Hugs out to Swampy and everyone else who need them.

Sun is shining here and meltage is underway.

I know what you mean about widow-maker snow. Luckily, I didn’t have to do a lot of lifting. Our shovels are more for pushing, with a little bit of a flip at the end as necessary. Granted, some of those flips were substantial, but it’s easy enough to divide the load. I’m achy, but I never really overexerted.

Meanwhile, it’s lunchtime! Busy morning, with a busy afternoon ahead.

Sari, Ruble, y’all be careful on that re-freezing ice stuff; don’t need anybody else hurtin’ themselves.

FCM, IIRC you guys have a pretty long driveway, so unless you have a snowblower, it’s still a lot of work; you be careful too. And to be fair, that candy bar spidey posted is about 10 pounds; might take you two days at that…:wink:

49F heading for the high 50’s today. Spent 3 hours sorting out various soccer issues with the youth league, our first games are Saturday and there are still coaches to train, kids to assign to teams, and practices to schedule…it’ll settle down once the games are underway (I hope).

Finishing off my BLT’s on toasted Rye. Good stuff. Need to get a couple of items from the store and then get ready for the 5PM girls’ soccer practice.

The cat caught a mouse this morning.
I don’t know why he can’t just catch, kill, and be done with it, but no, he has to catch, release, catch, release, catch, carry, release. The whole time he is thumping and bumping and slamming into appliancee, furniture, and doors.
All the noise woke the dog, who decided to get in on the action, resulting in much hissing, growling, and yowling, and an injured mouse crawling off to die somewhere in the house.

I should probably send the cat down to the basement once a day, since I’m pretty sure that is where the mice get in.
That way he can hunt in peace and hopefully kill them before they come upstairs.

No worries for me MetalMouse, I’m not going out until the ice is gone.
If my son doesn’t clear the back sidewalk, well that is his problem. He can eat what I eat. He can learn to like ham and chicken and broccoli and peppers.

Just listening to the radio, and they played of a recording of a 911 call. Apparently there was an animatronic dinosaur exhibit in town, and this lady called 911 because she was worried about live dinosaurs coming to her town.
Now for the really stupid part: The 911 operator said she wasn’t sure if the dinosaurs were alive, but she offered to look it up on Facebook to find out.
Fuck, we are a stupid country.

Stupid, or brilliantly sardonic?

Nothing sardonic in her voice at all. Pure unadulterated stupid.

Are you sure that it wasn’t sarcasm?

You tell me.

I can’t listen, but I’ll vote for stupid. Undoubtedly, someone thinks Jurassic Park was a documentary!

There’s a thread for that.
