It's Pouring Rain in the MMP

Hope work was good to you. Books are about the heaviest thing I order with ‘buy with 1 click’. Well, there was that one replacement toilet seat…

I did order my beloved granddaughter a lobby broom once and boy, did it come in a long, skinny box that weighed next to nothing. I’m sure the driver shook his/her head all the way back to the truck. But nope, no anvils ordered here. If I don’t want to bend over and pick it up off my porch, I’m sure not going to ask you to.

Slinking off to bed now. Will most likely read for a while to warm up the covers if my habits the last half century or so are any clue.

Boo

:innocent:

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 66 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 87 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. I have an appointment with the doc and the vampires this mornin’ at eight-thirty. Laundry is also on the agenda. Sup shall be my version of Philly cheesesteaks and oven fries. Whilst out and about I shall take care of a couple of errands. The excitatement is non-stop!

Red I sometimes make cornmeal waffles. We like 'em.

{{{Butters and Hubs}}} It just seems neverendin’ with all the both of you are goin’ through. Here’s hopin’ he can infuse himself. I still think that is sump’n a pro should do.

Nellie yay for less itchiness!

doggio sorry, but the ‘hood is bein’ overrun with roadrunners so I needed those six cases of anvils.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas, alack, and bother of bothers, I supose I shall purtify and don appropriate bein’ about the public attire. Why must life be so difficult!

Happy Tuesday Y’all!

We’re almost to the time of year when I put the electric blanket back on the bed for just this reason. I’ll turn in on an hour or so before bedtime to take the chill off the sheets. Unless it’s a stupid cold night, I don’t keep it on while I sleep, but it’s loverly to stick my icy feet between warmth. Especially when I’m using flannel sheets! Bliss!!

Woke stupid early again, but fell back to sleep and woke again just minutes before my alarm. In a few minutes, I’ll head out to fetch the RoxStar. Not sure what the day holds - if there’s sun, we’ll go to a playground. At least the rain is done for a while.

Let’s just move ahead without a plan, shall we?? Happy Tuesday!!

Most of my orders lately have been lightweight stuff (BluRays, a paperback book, fresh plastics for DH’s construction-grade face shield, etc.). You’re welcome.

Slaps forehead. I never realized (or forgot) that johnnycakes are made with cornmeal. For some reason I thought johnnycakes = Hardtack.

The sun is playing hide and seak with the clouds. I’m working on my homework and finally turned on the light so I could read the book. Guess who came out again so I have double the light I need?

Not so motivated to do the homework, which is why I’m here. I know it’s necessary for learning, but I’ve never been the best student.

Last year this time we were at Dorney Park, enjoying a surprisingly warm Sunday. So we rode the log flume 4 times, and got soaking wet, but only after riding Steel Force twice (or was it 3 times) and Thunderhawk 3 times. We actually didn’t get soaked on the ride itself. So we made sure to stand on the bridge and get a proper soaking.

Next time I’m taking an extra set of clothes for us, no matter how warm it is. I have troubles saying no to a log flume.

I have them scheduled for repeat delivery. They don’t make anvils like they used to!

Happy Toosday!

It’s another rainy and chilly day.
Supposed to get up to 66, but then we get two days of clear skies and in the 70s.
Several people showed up at the park but none of the dogs were that interested in playing. I think Ripple was ready to come home as soon as we got there, and Echo didn’t make a fuss about leaving either. Except there was a squirrel on the small dog side she wanted to get.

There is something up with Echo’s nose, my son noticed it and people at the park noticed it. I’m going to take a picture of it and email it to the breeder. It’s not bothering her but she looks funny.

Not sure what all I’m going to do today. All my stuff should be coming in for the bathroom so I need to talk to the lawn guy.

{{{Butters}}} What a messy situation for you and hubby.

Morning all. Not much on the schedule today until 5pm when I have a makeup soccer game for the girls, getting it in before 6:30pm when it gets dark here will be dicey, but we’ll try. Also need to procure bananas and salad fixin’s for later in the week.

Finally found out what they are building next to the Kroger’s…what I though were apartments is actually a new elementary school, probably going to replace the one nearest me that is 40+ years old. But putting a school next to a grocery and other shops and very near a major intersection on a two-lane road is going to make for some interesting traffic situations in future. Not going to be a problem until 2021, however.

Clear but only going to 72F today. Fall is apparently fallen.

All y’all take care.

Just ordered a mattress and foundation for our guest room. It should get here in 2 weeks. FCD is working on having his folks come for Thanksgiving since my mom isn’t hosting. He’ll go pick them up then take them home after. So we need a bed for them. No way I’d ask them to sleep on a futon.

Roxy and I colored and played with blocks, and now she’s watching Little Baby Bum on Netflix. It’s a lot of mostly annoying songs that she loves. It’s still dreary and wet outside so it’s the best I can do. Two hours till nap time. Hers, not mine.

Not too bad of a sort today, but any surplus prime orders will be tomorrow and Thursday. Plus there is a Woot-Off going on. Also helpful hit: I now we’re viewed as a bunch of hillbillies down here, but the last time N.C. State was a 1 building college was 1899. Put a street address on the label, instead of “Professor X @ N.C. State”, if you want your thesis to get there on time.

Moooommmm!!!, Little Baby Bum? Does the main character sleep behind a 7-11 dumpster and drink 40s of formula or something?

I am up and have a lovely cup of black coffee on the desk beside me. I have my annual physical exam and blood work this morning, so I have been fasting since dinner last evening. Usually I try for the first appointment slot but this appointment has been rescheduled by the Doctor’s office three times. 630pm - 11.00am is a long time to go on a couple of slices of pizza and a cold beer.

Little Baby Bum

It’s got a very specific demographic!

Morning, all. Still isn’t cool enough for me to be making tea or cocoa in the morning, but it’s getting there. Trash got put out early, since a certain someone went nutso at 5:41am this morning. Then he had the nerve to wait until he saw me scoop the poop from the litter boxes before dropping a load half his size in the main box. Little stinker!

Bezos already has too much of my money, so no Prime Day buying for me. But the new bathroom scale should be arriving today and I can see exactly how much I have lost in the last couple of months. One+ complete shirt size, I know.

Counseling session this morning. Feeling pretty good, so she should be happy with my progress. She says posting here, Gweeb and to my blog are really helping me articulate feelings and deal with emotional stress. So thank you all for [del]listening[/del] reading.

This year needs to stop. I want to get off now.

My mom might have mouth cancer. She’s had this weird “bloom” in the back of her throat for weeks. They originally thought it was a weird bacterial infection but the antibiotics didn’t kill it; it just got worse. So it’s either thrush (usually associated with babies, but unfortunately common in transplant patients) or cancer. So that’s awful. Waiting on the results of the biopsy now. She just moved here, dammit. Just started making (socially distant) friends with the ladies in her building, joined a book group that meets over zoom and a bridge group and got into the latest condo gossip. I never thought I’d be rooting for a fungal infection so much in my life.

Anyway. I was up and down, up and down last night. I couldn’t stop thinking about my mom and an important meeting I had this morning and the possible impact if it went south (it didn’t, but still). Finally at 5:15 a.m. I texted my waddling partner saying I just couldn’t do it this morning. At last I fell into a sleep deep enough to dream (though I hear that’s light sleep) and dreamed I was carrying around a skinned squirrel, thinking it was my baby. Even more disturbing was waking up because it had started to move.

Blech. I’m afraid to hope things chill the heck out.

Hugs to everyone here who’s struggling.

Howdy Y’all! I’m back from the doc and vampires and takin’ care of some errands. Actually been back for half an hour. In and out of the doc/vampires in thirty minutes today. YAY! I got to see some wild chickins (yes, we have wild chikins down here) roamin’ around the parkin’ lot at the doc’s office. There are woods and a pond across from the office, so it is not unusual to see them and/or ducks hangin’ out there. No ducks today however.

wordy hopin’ for the best outcome for your mom. If it’s thrush, sulfa drugs are good for that if she’s not allergic to 'em.

Afternoon, mumpers! I finally gave in to the eye pain and took myself to A&E this morning. I had to walk through the entire horsepistol from the front door to the A&E entrance, 'cos I don’t know any other way to get to it. Then they told me that the eye nurses had been sent back to the separate eye infirmary down near the front entrance of the grounds. So I had to walk all the way back through the building to the great outdoors, and then down towards the main vehicle entrance where the eye infirmary lives. Wish they’d made it clear on the doors before I wasted so many steps inside the putrid leper colony.

Anyway, got to the eye bit, saw the nurse practitioner and she said I don’t have an ulcer, I have instead got a mahoooosive corneal abrasion with some inflammation and infection. So I’ve now got some anti-biotic ointment and a new tube of gel tears for the next five days. There may still be an ulcer underneath it all but she couldn’t see due to said inflammation etc. So if there’s no improvement in 5 days, back I will have to go.

Not a lot else going on. BoJo the Clown addressed the nation and confused us even more about where we can or can’t go, who with (or not), and what we can or can’t do when we get there. Thus today the furthest I plan to go (after the horsepickle) is the supermarket for provisions for the next week.

wordy, fingers crossed for the best possible outcome for your mum.

Butters sounds like you need a hug or three.

Doggio* you’ll be pleased to hear that my anvils come from over this side of the pond so you shouldn’t be sorting any of those. If you do, they’re coming the scenic route!

When I was very young, my older sister took me to Belmonth Park and we got onto a ride. As I recall, it had spokes that had compartments/carriages/pods/whateveryacallem. We got into a pod and tie ride operator closed the semicircular ‘gate’ and put a cotter pin in the latch. We rose up into the air and started going round and round. The pods were on a pivot so that they could rock and roll – maybe even go inverted. The problem was that the ride had no seatbelts. We were thrown around, off of the seat, and I kept hoping the cotter pin didn’t come out as that was the only thing keeping us alive.

Another thing I remember about Belmont Park was that many places smelled like piss.

I got 8 herbs planted and placed on the kitchen windowsill.

Once they sprout, I may take them out to the greenhouse. I need to clean it up a bit - take out the dead stuff, etc. Maybe tomorrow.

Roxy is napping (I hope - I went back there and caught her out of bed, the sneak!!)

I ordered FCD a new desk chair - his is in really sad shape. According to FedEx (liars that they are) it will be delivered tomorrow. But the status shows it was to leave Georgia today. Theoretically, it could get here tomorrow, but based on my experience with FedEx, it won’t. Plus Da Jungle says it’ll arrive between Oct 20-23. I guess we shall see.

Meanwhile, I have a few minutes to enjoy the quiet.

My neighbor is so nice.
I sent a pic of Echo’s nose off to the breeder and she suggested giving Echo a benadryl. I was going to go get some after irk, but I texted to neighbor to see if he had any and if I could borrow two. I got a text a bit later asking me to meet him out back. He had walked to the 7-11 and bought some benadryl for me. Totally not necessary, but totally sweet.
The other neighbor asked me for a ride to pick up his new glasses, I could have gotten the benadryl then.

I like roller coasters, or at least I used to. Never got the appeal of flooms though.

The
Turbo
was always my favorite at the local carnival. I got on it with two friends one year, one passed out and the other threw up.
