It's Pouring Rain in the MMP

Never thought I’d say this Wordy, but I hope your mom has thrush.

Boofey, Butters and Hubby, and everyone else, I hope things go better for you all.

Doggio, The invisible Mole People visited our house at 4:30 this morning. Gibbs went into a tizzy, running through the house and barking. Then he and Vinnie had to check the back yard for infiltrators and leave land mines, just in case. We got back to bed a few minutes after 5. Whew!
So I slept in a bit this morning.

As soon as Wifey gets out of the shower, it’s my turn. Then I’ll dress and get on with my day. I gotta go to the post office and Bimart. Then I think I’ll go across the street to Safeway and get some chicken parts that are on sale.

Sometime today I also need to look at the underside of my recliner. It’s broken, somehow. Maybe I can put whateveritis back together.

Later.

Evening all.

I didn’t retain much else; something about American anvils being superior, so I should be sure to order them from there?

Irk wasn’t too bad today, considering. I think we’re entering a vicious circle, when the staff start going off due to stress-caused illnesses, which then stresses everyone else more as they have to cover the work, so… At least I got a few extra hours out of it today, and the students were the easy lot.

I did, however, fail today’s game of ‘dodge the rain showers’ and got utterly drenched. It’s supposed to be pretty well dry for the next few days at least (including my day off tomorrow), but it’s getting chilly- I don’t have an electric blanket, but it’s definitely the start of hot water bottle season.

All of us should join the Anvil-of-the-Month Club and request personal sorting by Doggie. :rofl:

Finally home from my appointment with the dermatology NP, which went exactly how I thought it would. She was very nice, asked a lot of questions, then trotted off to call a dermatologist. He said I should try Allegra. I told her (It was on my forms, but she understandably missed it.) that I’d tried Allegra before and it hadn’t worked. She said, “Oh.” Then said well, try it again and see. So I’ll head over to Walgreen’s in a bit and get some.

She’s also referring me to UW. All these years, I thought the itching was part of the dermatographism. That’s what I’d been told by more than one doc. Turns out that’s not true. She said, “You’re what we call a complex case.” I’ve heard that before.

I’m not unhappy or frustrated, though, because the itching is no worse today. [quote=“Johnny_L.A, post:58, topic:922780”]
The problem was that the ride had no seatbelts. We were thrown around, off of the seat, and I kept hoping the cotter pin didn’t come out as that was the only thing keeping us alive.

Glad you came to be called flyboy instead of fallboy.

Best wishes to all with health issues or family with health issues. These situations are stressful enough, and the state of the world right now just magnifies it all tenfold. Hugs.

As for roller coasters and other thrill rides, I love ‘em! Well, most of ‘em. A while back I realized I was done with spinny rides. I’m not prone to motion sickness, but going in tight circles for 5 minutes doesn’t do my guts any favors these days.

However, speedy rides, loopy rides, and droppy rides are are still on the table. I did the Tower of Terror at Disney World a few years ago after not having done so for quite some time. As it was about to start, I had a flash of “am I getting too old for this?” But then I laughed and grinned through the whole ride. Ended up going three times in a row, while Mrs. W shopped. So yeah, if you ever want to find me at Disney, I’m the 50-something guy by himself eagerly running back into line over and over!

WOOHOO!! I got a letter from Social Security - they’d made an error when computing my monthly amount and I’m getting a raise! A whopping $5.00 a month!! Plus an extra payment of $45 for the prior 9 months! PARTY ON!!!

:rofl:

Daughter just left with her spawn. In a little bit, I’ll start supper - garlic-parm chicken, peas-n-carrots, and noodles. And maybe some fruit.

Tomorrow is a Roxy-free day and I’m going to the thrift store to see if I can score some pants - the ones I was wearing yesterday are just too big, so they’ll be donated. I’d like to get a pair one size smaller than I can wear now so I know when I’ve achieved that milestone. It’s been an effective motivation tool.

I’ll also run by the local farm store in search of 'maters, tho it may be too late in the year. We shall see…

I don’t do carnival-type rides. I used to enjoy a Ferris wheel, but the last time we did that, we ended up clutching each other desperately and telling each other to “breathe. . .BREATHE!” Vertigo is not fun.

Cleaning the kitchen today, including turning on the self-clean feature of the oven, so the house be stankin’ bad. I’m glad I bought an air purifer. The furnace dude is coming on Thursday to do the annual thing. They claim a “35 point checkup”. I’m no expert, but I know enough, and I can’t think of 35 things to look at on a furnace that would need “checking”. I guess they have to justify that $200 somehow.

We’re almost done with our get-out-the-vote mailing effort. We have 1,020 letters ready to go to various parts of the country, and 200 postcards (all for PA). This operation has generated some 15 million letters to voters who need to be prodded to get off their asses and head for the polls. The letters are not tilted right or left, nor is there any mention of party or candidate, but the effort is being run by a pro-Dem organization.

After trying to procure a scale locally I was forced to give Bezos more money. It arrived today. Since the middle of August, I have lost 24 lbs! Stress will do that to you. Once the weather cools off I’ll start walking in the evenings and see if I can level off at -50 lbs., more or less.

@silenus
You rock!

Make it rain! Woot!

Howdy Y’all! I achieved nappage and then made sup which then got et. Then the kitchen got cleanded. That’s all the news (well, all I’m tellin’ since I am tryin’ to be less TMI) from da cave.

I can’t think about a Ferris wheel without thinking, ‘Trapped like beavers!’

Curious about what UW is. If it’s Univ. of Wisconsin I will be very curious (and laugh and laugh!) because many, many years ago I was being paid for my blood by U Wis because they were doing studies on atopic dermititis.

doggio, I didn’t order any anvils. I figured the safe was bargain enough for this year’s Prime day.

{{{butters and hubby}}} If it weren’t for bad luck, you’d have no luck at all.

Hoping for the least painful results for your mom wordy.

I’ve hit the time of year where my throat is itchy if I don’t dose with some benedryl a few times a day. Gotta love fall allergies.

Poor Nelson was scratching again yesterday, so I put him in the tub and conditioned him. He’s such a good boy when it comes to baths.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

Glad everything(including us) is helping a little. {{{{hugs}}}}

{{{{wordy and Mom}}}}

: heaves box into TYL :
grumble grumble grumble

That is so cool! I should have specified: U. of Washington.

doggio, don’t you worry. I’m not ordering anything heavy: no anvils, no safes, just marshmallows, 75 pounds of marshmallows.

Heeeheeeheeee. I can’t stop giggling.

I couldn’t find Monkey for a second (meaning, he wasn’t directly underfoot) and looked around a sec. Peered into the (unlit) kitchen, and saw part of the floor was a lot darker than the rest of the floor.
Then the extra-dark shadow blinked.

Found him!

E.T.A. checked my cart o’pending stuff I want from Da Jungle. (For when those lotto tickets I never buy come through for me, yanno. Or that sugar daddy drops outta the sky.) Nothing crucial - I’ve sat on this stuff this long, I can wait a while longer.

Aww, he’s so cute. I’m thinking we far away mumpers need another Monkey picture. At a minimum, a couple times a month hereafter would be lovely.

Boo

{whine} but Discourse makes it so hard on a phone. Okay. I go fire up laptop. Just for y’all. Gimme a few.

I Have read some but not all. I am determined to be a member of this group. I slept a good part of the day as did hubby. I did solve the meds problem by emailing my new (asshole cough cough ) Director and telling him I need more time off. These last two weeks of “stay away” could have been free to me but I was nice and used annual leave. May as well since I don’t foresee any vacations in my future. He wrote back approved and how did I want to get paid for it. I told him to use my vacation time again as I have more of that than sick.

The replacement meds were on the porch and the vancomycin is now 1000mg not the 1250 and is only once a day not twice. WTF.?

So another week off at least. If this thing doesn’t turn around soon I shall be an old widow woman. He had a decent breakfast and the neighbors brought over some ready to eat “ice cream bananas” so I made him a milkshake with two of those and a glucerna and a little Icecream. He drank it all so has said no supper for him. I am having oven cooked French fries.sprayed with Pam. Gotta have a little grease. Buddy’s dinner shall be dog food mixed with burger.

The more I think about this the madder I get. So I just hope all,of you stay healthy and happy and grateful.
