Kinda By Request: The New MMP!

Mama Plant tortured me with stored bought chicken pot pies with raw dough.
I have an intense aversion.

Peaches, I didn’t think about taking the head off for a different steam appliance. I’m thinking steaming light wrinkling out of clothing rather than setting up the ironing board.

Mine is great for that, too - especially the drapes. But cleaning the shower without being overcome by fumes is the best secondary use in my book!

All y’all in the possible storm path, good wishes and refuge in North Ali-bama is possible if it gets that desperate.

Paid a couple of bills and made my monthly Mutual Fund deposit, then bought a new toaster…I bought (more or less on a whim) some Raisin bread at the store, and toasted Raisin bread with butter is so good…but the toaster (many, many years old) was making noises I did not trust, so a new one (about $15) from Wally-Mart has replaced it. BLT’s tomorrow!!

You frequently strike me as a person of good sense. Help to ride out the storm for 2 and 4-legged. I hope it goes smoothly.

You what chocolate covered raisins are, Pal?
Nasty raisins ruining chocolate.
Yogurt covered raisins? Nasty raisins covered in yogurt.
Raisin bread? Nasty raisins in bread.

There is a pattern here.

A tragic loss of wine.

Tomorrow I will go to the store and pickup some 6-packs of Sunmaid Raisins.

And a spray bottle of Raid.

raisin bread with apple butter and regular butter. mmmm. Wish I had some right now.

You folks are very, very sick, and should speak with your physician or a man of the cloth immediately.

Yup, it’s fall. Bought my first quart of eggnog yesterday. Seems the princess likes it too, since my finger got sterilized.

Will the man of the cloth bring me chicken soup? :sniffles:

blurf.

On the radio, they’re talking about having had to walk to school [barefoot, uphill both ways] in the snow, and what wimps “these kids today” are. WHY ARE THEY TALKING ABOUT SNOW WHEN THE LEAVES ON THE TREE OUTSIDE MY WINDOW HAVEN"T EVEN TURNED YET, LET ALONE DROPPED???

Raisins are mandatory in oatmeal cookies. Yum!! I haven’t had raisin bread in eons, but now I want some. *<shaking fist at MetalMouse>

:D*

Happy Wednesday! Someone help me wake up!!

Hey, another story. Not about wars, but it involves walking in the snow. Uphill. Both ways.
Back in 8th grade, we got a new director. Back then, the school had uniforms for the girls but not for the boys (this changed once the generation that went co-ed started being parents of students), and the half-days before vacations were “color days”, when we could go out of uniform.

Christmas came and went normally, but on Holy Wednesday I arrived to see that all those other girls who would normally only be out of uniform except for the skirt were in full uniform. Uh-oh. Us usual suspects (that is, those who refused to accept “she who owns the ball wins”) were all in color…

Those 8th graders who were in color were called to the director’s office. She started ranting at us for being out of uniform, we pointed out that color days had been there since forever and that if the regs didn’t list them, what needed to be updated was the regs (we didn’t know it at the time, but this is how our legal system had been compiled, back in the 13th century… we were merely following in our foreparents’ footsteps!), then I asked where was her uniform (most of the nuns, including her, didn’t wear their habits any more) and got slapped for it…

There was a call for an extraordinary PTA meeting on the first week we were back, and there was so many people that they had to hold it in the gym instead of the theater, and leave the gates open. Families brought grandma, or even both grandmas, and one family brought great-grandma. All alumnae stated that they had had color days; the great-grandma pointed out that “my mother was one of those people who are always complaining about having to go to school walking barefoot in the snow and youth nowadays, and she was the one who taught me about color days, so I believe we can assume they were in place when she was a student here.”

The regs got updated and the director had to apologize to us in public.

Happy Hump Day!

It’s a cool, dark, 56 degrees outside. Going up to 70 and supposed to be sunny.

Not much going on, quiet and boring around here, just the way I like it.

blurf. I don’t wanna go to irk. Go, I must. Too much to do to stay home but If’n I can get to a stopping place I may take off tomorrow. I have some comp time I need to use and it looks like it will be raining tomorrow.

I had never been so thankful to have a gas stove than I was the week after Hurricane Sandy. It was day six when I was heating water on the stove to take a candelit pioneer bath that the power came back on. In my area, though, the big problem was the lack of gas. I would have been happy to strike out for more electrified pastures as my entire office was shut down for a week, but I didn’t have enough gas to get out of town and the stations that had both power and gas were rationing.

Best of luck, and stay safe!

Happy hump day! I’m off irk today, having a combination of a doctor’s appointment this afternoon and the need to do some stuff before I lose the use of my left foot for the duration.

Flytrap, you need to take back all the hateful things you said about raisins. Raisins are nature’s candy. The diner where I am currently enjoying my breakfast has raisin French toast as one of today’s specials. It’s tempting but for the fact that I am trying to lose weight.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Short closing shift tonight.

The advatage of being a tailgater is I have grills, coolers, and a mini indoor/outdoor camp stove. But the updated track has Mathew moving away from N.C., so I’ll have less to worry about.

Test drive? Floor cleaning device? More economical (Read: better gas mileage) You’re from the South.
Why were you the only cardinal direction sister not in the movie? :stuck_out_tongue:
