Kinda By Request: The New MMP!

Welcome back Swampy!

I think this method would take an awfully long time…

I’m with you though. Why, WHY, for the love of all that’s holy put raisins in food? Ptouiee! Satan’s snack food right there I say!

I have discovered, for whatever reason, that we have a radar “hole” over this area in the weather maps. Open the door, it’s pouring. That’s funny, it’s not supposed to be raining. Check not one, not two, but 3 weather apps. Nope, NO RAIN on the radar. It’s happened several days in a row now. The forecasts seem to be accurate. Chance of rain is x%, temperature of 50, but no rain is shown. It’s a tad irritating, but since I don’t have to worry, much, about tornadoes here, I’m not going to sweat it. I’ll just plan on rain for the next 6 months or so. I love rain.

I have been given to understand that it is very bad for raisins.

Eons ago, I went out with a guy who referred to the elderly as raisins. That’s when I decided he was an ass.

Home, going out for something for supper - not sure what. Then I’ve got to pack up a bunch of pottery for **FCD **to take to the store for me tomorrow. And before I go to bed, I’ll empty the dishwasher. That’s about all I can manage tonight. I’s tahred.

Salsa’s fed us. I’ve packed up a bunch of stuff for the little store. All I want to do now is sleep, but it’s a little too early.

C’mon Firday!!

Not a huge raisin fan, but I don’t loathe them as much as some of you do. I prefer butterscotch chips in oatmeal cookies.

[long string of expletives] car decided it was done with holding coolant. Came home early to miss the worst traffic and give DH a shot at diagnosis.

MOOOOOOM I thought Wednesday was fried chikin night. Home from Evening Prayer/Healing Service over to the church house. Our interim Priest is very nice and it was a good service.

Fried chicken skin!

Well,I irked 8 1/2 hours and commuted 2 more. Got home and dropped off Lucky Louie and went back to the highway or town as we call it and filled the car and went to the newly renovated Winn Dixie for junk food. Had frozen pizza and salad for supper. I found some Pomegranate vinaigrette. I love pomegranates.

And all because of MetalMouse and Flytrap I got raisin bread. Was buy one get one free so I even have an extra loaf for the freezer.

Welcome back Swampy! You were missed.

Busy at work, got home late. But I jot Jerk style Bachelor Food cooking. Plus a warm puppy and a cold beer.

Are they related to The Knights Who Say “Ni!”

Welcome back, swampy!

And everyone who’s still in the cross-hairs of Matthew, stay safe.
I like raisins. But I like dried cranberries better.

Me too on the cranberries.

Was he absent?

I made curried popcorn with Sriracha butter for dessert. In case you were keeping score.

Last day of this irkplace today!
Apparently I timed it very well, last night the manager also announced that she will shortly be leaving to go into area management, and the girl who will be taking over is just not very good at people. She’s 20, and is so concerned that people will not take her seriously because of her age that she acts waaay too serious and bossy.

I’m glad it ain’t gonna be my problem, but I heavily suspect that a lot more people will also be scuttling off to new jobs soon.

'Course, it’s really just 'cos they can’t cope without me, but hey

Evidently, Nuts: we all know you were a great improvement to the place.

You guys ever feel like you’ve stepped into a movie? I’ve met many people who have used that or similar expressions to speak of a first trip abroad, or of being in a place where they’d long wanted to be. Right now I’m not sure if I’m in a sitcom, a sitdrama, a telenovela or an absurdist comedy…

I go and get a new job back in Barcelona, then Grandma gets on what definitely seems to be her last days. Meanwhile, Mom can’t travel because of the medical treatment she’s getting in order to prep her for abdominal surgery (removal of a sort of extra appendix; apparently the appendix isn’t the only extra bit our guts have); my sister in law is angry that I didn’t pay enough attention to her children last Sunday (we only saw each other during Mass and they were late; what was I supposed to do, walk up to them for hugs and kisses in mid-sermon?); the kids are very happy that the gifts I asked if they’d like for their birthdays (hers just passed, his is next week) as their parents hadn’t given me ideas are both “oh YES!”. Idiot Aunt has decreed that Grandma won’t get a funeral or a wake, and that it’s my mother who has to inform all their cousins as “I’m not talking with any of those bitches!” That’s OK honey, I’m reasonably sure they don’t miss you much either.

It’s my own family and yet there are times I feel like I could use a map!

**swampy **- I suggested fried chickin night, but spousal unit wasn’t that hungry. So I had shrimp tacos and he had a fajita salad. The tab before tip was $18.01. I lurves me some Salsa’s!!

Nava, you realize if you wrote your life as a script, no one would believe it…

Kinda misty drive in this morning - I had to occasionally run the wipers, but it wasn’t exactly raining. Whatever - I’m in the office and it’s relatively dry here. I was kinda bummed when I woke up - I was sure it was Firday. Nope. Not yet. Dammit.

So Happy Thursday. Whatever. Blech.

Happt Yhorsday!

Up too early, but I can’t sleep.
I don’t know what the weather is supposed to be, it’s still dark outside.

Nava stories about your family make me feel somewhat better about mine.

Welcome back Swampy!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 68 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 87 and partly cloudy whatever that means for the day. Again TWPTB say chance of rain tomorrow but what do they know as of late.

Thanks y’all for the welcome backs. Makes a bear feel all speshul! I really did enjoy my time with mom and the rest of the family even if’n it did sorta wear me out. We did the church thing Sunday (I swear everybody there had to talk to mom. Didn’t think we’d ever get outta there. There was all kinds of good food, however, so that helped a lot.), on Moanday I took mom to the wilds of Heard County, Jawja. We put flowers on her parents grave, looked around the biiiiiiiiiiig cemetary there to see some of the older graves of her family and rode around the county to various places. She got really tired but had a great time and that’s what counts. I have to say I was impressed by how well kept up that cemetary is. The little community (Centralhatchee) makes sure it’s always neat and manicured and easy to walk around there. We also went to the cemetary where my dad and younger bro are buried. There are little brass plaques instead of headstones in that cemetary so I cleaned up the plaques with some WD40[sup]TM[/sup] and a soft cloth. Their plaques are now all nice and shiny. Tuesday, my youngest niece and I went to the cemetary at the Methodist church in Standing Rock, Alabammy where a lot of my dad’s family is buried. She took a lot of pictures of interestin’ headstones, took a picture of me standin’ by Standing Rock (the happiest rock on Earth!), and then we went over to large and in charge Roanoke, Alabammy to see the remains of an old country store that was run by a great uncle. The sign is still up on the place but faded so she took pictures of all that plus pictures of me standin’ under the sign. I showed her where my next to oldest brother had carved his initials on the threshold of the front door. She got a pic of that and sent it to him sayin’ “now I know where I get my desire to vandalize.” Then we went to Rock Mills, Alabammy where I showed her the waterwheel and the falls by the old mill there. She got lots of pictures of that. They do a flea market in the old mill two Sattidys a month so she got all excitated about goin’ to check that out. Just a fun afternoon for both of us. My dad was born in Rock Mills so that made that trip kinda extra special for both of us. I also ate like a hawg the whole time I was there. In addition to all the food on Sunday, we ate twice at the “Good Ol’ Country Buffet” which lives up to its name for real. Next to oldest brother and his wife took mom there on Tuesday but I declined the invitation to join as I felt like I had eaten more food in three days than I do in a week and decided I did not need a third visit. Again, I had a great time even if it did wear me out.

OK, that’s the report of what I’ve been up to. Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants sustenance. Laundry is on the agenda for today as well as the makeage of dindin which shall be lemon chikin, peas, butterbeans, and okra cooked together, squish, rice (the sauce the chikin makes is so good over rice!), and cornbread. This is a spoil OYKW meal since I’ve been gone all week.

Everybody in the path of Matthew stay safe!

Happy Thursday Y’all!

Came in this morning to an email that made me very mad. I am trying to deal, as I often spend the first hour alone in the office and therefore I have time to get over it. But then co-worker will come in and likely ask me about it and I’ll get all mad again. I just keep reminding myself to get through the wedding, then I can start looking for a new job.
