Last week of April in the MMP

Today is Nelson’s third birthday. And Willie’s 87th.

Irked (over time even), came home, walked the dog and et supper. Tomorrow will likely be a loooooooong day, as it’s EoM and we’re behind. I’m at home Friday, but have a Zoom meeting with my supe, my manager, the operations senior manager, the warehouse and fulfillment managers, the security manager and shift supervisors. We have about $100K of write offs attributed to theft, with three of our employees and two of the security company’s staff involved. I have to give the reports that I gathered. Folks are being prosecuted for grand theft, so it’s serious. I imagine at some point, I’ll have to write some kind of affidavit for corporate attorneys.

So that’s the excitement in my world at the moment.

Stay healthy y’all!

Hey, I meant to post yesterday, but I had an appointment with my doc, and that was an adventure. By the time I got home I was definitely frazzled. I took a quick nap, and when I got up I felt water on the side of the toilet. The s-i-l had just reseated it and re-caulked it about a week ago, but I have been telling them that there is unexplained wetness around the sink and toilet for months. Well, my bathroom is now a construction zone. kai is not a happy squaw.

Although for every irritation I can name at least three blessings, so there is that. I suppose that, all things considered, I need to assign pseudonyms for the people in my immediate life. So Daughter#3 will be Daisy, her SO is Irish, and so far the baby currently under construction is referred to as the Nugget. Daisy is halfway through her second trimester, so it’s fun to wait until she sits down to relax, and I am able to push on her belly just enough to wake the Nug up, and then I am able to feel her move. We do not know the gender just yet, but we are all hoping for a little girl. There, three blessings!

Then there is my wee dog, Smoochie. One of her daughters is coming to live with me soon, and she is coming as a package deal! It’s been a long time since I had baby tribbles, and they will be here at least a month before Daisy’s baby. After the bleakness of recent life babies a plenty will be very welcome! My cousin sent her a bathinet and a package of the cutest onesies! squee Daisy never played with baby dolls, never babysat, never really talked about being a mom. I suppose the biological clock really is a thing, as she will be 29 this summer, and suddenly she wanted a baby. I am just fine as frog’s hair with their decision, too! I am having so much fun watching her, she held up a newborn onesie and whispered to Irish “I never even had any toys this small”! I am so happy that I am able to be here with her and for her, Irish too. They make a very solid couple, and they have seven years together under their belts, so I feel good about encouraging them to have a family. I am also loving that they will live with me, and this is my grandbaby to get to pet and spoil. Daughter#1, Princess and her husband share a house with his parents, and I have not had enough grandma time with their kids. Don’t get me wrong, the Ts are my heart, I just see them so infrequently. I am looking forward to being a hands on gramma!

So, a baby and a new Pommie with puppies, my garden has been carefully groomed so there are a lot of perennials coming back, and many are maturing into nice clumps and masses. The last two years have not been fun and games, so I have a metric buttload of weeding to do - oh, there are so many weeds! - but I am looking forward to rehabbing the beds which have become quite overgrown, and I do plan on planting a lily bed at the corner of the house. I want to get beds dug for my peonies and then just a mixed perennial bed, but I have a good idea for that brewing. With Daisy all prego’d up I am cutting back my usual veggie garden, although I intend to get a few straw bales for tomatoes and potatoes at the very least.

Okay, I have blabbed for the length I allowed myself. You are now caught up with the mundane details of my life, so I can feel like I can pop in and out, as I try to train myself into a more regular posting schedule. I just know that, at least a few of the old timers, miss the minutia of my days, lol! Thanks for allowing me a rambling stream of conciseness!

Picked up chicken at the Sto today. They still have 2 way aisle, not that it matters, given that everybody walks down the middle of the aisle. Usually in pairs.:dubious:
Making Asiam BBQ chicken with rice and stir fried veggies. And a soup appetizer. Gazpacho. Barley gazpacho. Beer. I am having beer.

WetOne, yay for Ariel! Boo rain.

Happy Birthday Atlilla!

Happy Birthday Dots!
WetOne - I’m glad Ariel is recovering well.

Moommm - consider yourself blessed that Roxstar isn’t a picky eater. Expose her to absolutely everything you can think of. One of mine is picky, and it’s real challenge to feed him at times.

Kaiwik - I don’t know your MMPer name.:frowning: Your life sounds full and exciting. May you enjoy the months to come. Also, may you share pictures of all of the little ones. Tribble and not. :stuck_out_tongue:

My updates: the doctor said I can put off going into the clinic for the full MS screening, but wants me to proceed with a telehealth meeting with that doctor. I guess I’m going down the MS road for now. It makes me unhappy, but it’s better to find out.

We are close to reaching a settlement with 'Beamer’s school district. We’ve been covering costs for him to attend a specialized school, and things have been extremely tight. It looks like they will cover all expenditures to date, plus legal fees, and pay for the next year at the same school. Hopefully it will get wrapped up in the next week or so. Positive thoughts welcome.

Our stay at home orders here have been extended to May 31. This wasn’t unexpected. I think as a whole the Bay Area has done a great job on flattening the curve, and so far job loss in the area has been much, much less than other areas. Tech drives everything here, and tech is doing very well right now. We’ve seen some clever strategies as folks adapt to the new situation: I just learned that a number of restaurants are continuing their orders, to keep their supply chains running, but they’re selling those goods straight to consumers. A lot of the things we can’t get at grocery stores, we can get from these re-purposed restaurants. I think it’s a fantastic example of ingenuity. I hope it’s something other areas will pick up. I do worry that despite all we are doing the number of deaths per day/week continue to creep up.

Other than that, I can report that the weather has been too hot and bright to visit. I’ll be roasting a chicken tonight. I may make a casserole to go with it.

Take care everyone.

We had delivery from the real good place. Pricey but you pay for what you get especially now days. Was outstanding. Since I have nothing of import to say I will tell you the menu. I had pasta with Key Lime butter sauce and with some grilled chicken breast. There was some grilled Roma tomatoes on the dish and spareguts. We shared an appetizer of flash fried conch with a wasabi drizzle and some cuke shreds. Hubby had a Caesar salad with grilled shrimp. I ate some of his salad. We shared a magic brownie ala mode. I got for tomorrow a half order of their famous seafood stew and good bread. It was so good.

I am flat. Gonna play some of my stupid games and finish reading the net…

I guess tomorrow is Thursday? Happy almost weekend.

Doggioooo I have not seen any posts of you getting shelved lately.

Shelved?
[McCoy]Dammit Jim! I’m a dogbutler, not an elf![/McCoy]:stuck_out_tongue:

But I get a lot of 504s and 502s in the A.M.

Kai, you need to write here more often, especially when the new one gets here. My best wishes to your family and your pups.

Sunny, hope everything works out for Beamer, sounds like the school is stepping up to support him.

wet one, glad Ariel has been de-stitched with no problems.

Cupcakes, happy B-day to Attila.

Red, hope they don’t have to call you as a witness. Not happy for the EOM paperirk, but you’ll get through it.

nellie, {{}} for your sister and a couple of extra hugs for you. And come November or earlier, I’ll see if I can talk them out of an extra sticker and send it to you.

FCM, I tend to be a dipper/dunker myself, so Roxy is my kind of kid…

swampy, looks like the rains here are done, but radar says you’ve got some more dampness moving through.

All y’all take care. Did a load of laundry and some reading instead of nappage, so bedtime may be earlier tonight than other days.

:stuck_out_tongue: Yesterday was my birthday, but I can pretend it’s tomorrow. We’ll have groceries and I can call that the celebration.

I did get my deposit today, too, so that’s good news. And I found popcorn in the pantry, so hey- bonus.

Overall, I’m very grumpy today. The weather is gloomy, my cat puked on my pillow (while I was lying on it), my roommate and her boyfriend put the boyfriend’s dog in her bedroom where he’s barking and whining and kicking up a huge fuss (answered every thirty seconds or so by the kid shouting “YOU’RE FINE!”), I’m cold, I’m in a lot of pain, and really having to fight for any kind of help or treatment. Nobody can do anything at all right now because of Covid… even though it seems like everyone else and their brother is getting their tests and PT and helpful meds with no issue, but for me? I mean, it’s fine. You know- it’s just neverending pain and bottom-of-the-barrel quality of life. nbd. Why would that be something that should be addressed? I really need this to end one way or another.

But hey… groceries tomorrow. Apples and eggs and bell peppers and brand new sheets.

That sounds like it’s going to be ugly.

I am starting to truly loathe going to the grocery store. I can cope with the one-way arrows and tolerate wearing a mask to keep others from freaking out if my allergies make me sneeze or clear my throat. Still-bare shelves are a bit distressing (Walmart’s meat section had been hit hard, noticed when I walked past en route to stuff I needed, and disinfectant cleaning supplies are rapidly becoming the stuff of myth and legend, so rare is it to sight even a single forlorn container once the store’s been open for more than about an hour), but copeable. My own home inventory is mostly satisfactory.

What I am rapidly losing my ability to deal with is how utterly self-absorbed and oblivious to others fellow shoppers are. They were bad enough before March, but they seem to have rapidly lost any awareness that others even exist and need to be able to go through aisles and parking lots. They are steadily de-socializing, IMO.

We will need pictures of babies, furry and otherwise.

The whole thing is wearing me out. I wants normal.

Wiki upyou sound happy today. Lots to look forward to.

Damn Ipad. Not up you wiki.

Yay for the Nugget and the Pom puppies, wiki!!

Butters, your phone’s otter corrupt is full of shirt.

{{{{nellie}}}}

My sister’s husband opened his eyes for the first time in days and seemed to recognize her. She was able to tell him how much she loves him. She even sang a song for him. I’m so glad she was able to be there. It really upsets me that I can’t go be with her right now, but shakes self my shoulders there’s no choice, so stop whining about it, nellie.

Dot, did no one do anything special for your birthday? Hmph. I’m a big believer in celebrating one’s own birthday. We’re glad you were born, and I hope you’re glad, too. Buy yourself a cake tomorrow, and/or a split of champagne if you imbibe and/or supermarket flowers. But please celebrate yourself.

Red, that sounds very, very stressful. I hope it doesn’t drag on too long.

MetalMouse, I love you. Thanks for your thoughtfulness. And I’d love a sticker come November, should you score an extra.

I honestly believe something I saw on Facebook. “Auto-correct is a little elf who lives in your phone and is honestly trying with all his tiny heart to help you, but he’s very very drunk.”

Truth.

Morning all!

{{Anyone that wants one}}
My car had a nice expensive little getaway, all up, including the tyres, it wound up as £500. I was expecting it; 4 brake pads, brake disc for the handbrake and a section of the exhaust all needed replacing, as the neighbour said. It was a much happier little car on the way back than it’s been for a while.

I brought it the scenic route so I could check it out on the main road, which just happened to mean I went past the wild garlic patch, so had to stop and pick some, probably the last before it dies back for the summer. I managed to dodge the rain/hail as well, despite living dangerously and attempting the 15 minute walk to the garage without a coat but with a huge dark grey cloud clearly heading towards me; I reckoned I’d just make it before it hit and I was right. I had to add a little excitement to the morning

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 60 Amurrkin out and partly cloudy (partly moony?) with a predicted high of 71 and partly N.O.S. for the day. 'Tis a cool day for this time of year in these parts. No huge plans for the day. I shall go through the pantry and re-organize it as it tends to get all willy-nilly after a while thus starts to get hard to find stuff. I shall make a chikin pot pie for sup. That will take some time to make up as I need to cook the chikin and allow it to cool before I debone. By debone I mean yank all the meat off, not the thing you see folks do with a knife. I ain’t that dedicated. Buncha rain overnight but no bad storms, so there’s that.

Wiki yay for new babies, both hyoooman and fur! Come back and post often.

WetOne yay for Ariel gettin’ de-stitched!

Sunny yay for Beamer and skool!

Happy Birthday Atilla!

Nellie it’s hard not to be there in person but sis and bil know you are there in heart and spirit.

Dots hope you’re feelin’ some better today.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah.

Happy Thorsday Y’all!

Morning, mumpers! Happy Thorsday, everyone

It’s another grey and dreary day over here, there was a brief glimmer of sun for a few minutes but that has now disappeared. So far today I have been relatively productive at irk, sorted out a few problems for people and triple-checked an issue with a student that, by a process of elimination, I conclude is that he was registered for the wrong thing. I’ve now registered him for the right thing, and all’s well with the world.

Now to finish off one of my staff review forms…loving the fact that the paper-irk doesn’t stop just because we’re not on campus any longer.

Nearly lunchtime though, I wonder if Shadow will mind if I pinch a bit of tuna for my salad. I am guessing the answer will be yes, he watches that tin like a hawk.

I slept with Mel last night; ergo, I slept!!

**Sunny **- from the very start, daughter has let Roxy try a variety of foods and she seems to like everything. We all try to limit sweet snacks apart from fruits, and she doesn’t seem to get overly excited if she gets a cookie or such, so I find that comforting. My SIL is a picky eater - partly from allergies and partly because he’s picky. So far, she hasn’t seemed to notice that Papa can be a pain.

Incidentally, I first read your telehealth appointment as a *telepath *appointment!

**kai **- Yay for new babbies! I had to go thru my daughter’s pregnancy long-distance. On the other hand, I was spared the whining about aches and heartburn! And I’m glad you’re excited about the fluffy bitties. That would be more of an annoyance than a treat for me.

**Butters **- sometimes, you just need to treat yourselves! I’m thinking the next time we order a nice meal, we’ll get it from Leonardtown Grille - they have the best seared tuna!!

**Red **- yoiks on the thieves! I hope they get a big book thrown at them!! Shame!!

Our rain should start any time, and we’re promised from 1-2" and the associated coastal flooding. Once again, I’m glad of our situation on a high part of the neighborhood. And I’m glad I got the ditch mowed yesterday. Today’s only big plan is to wash a load of shirts. And I want to go to McKays - they’ve got shrimps and poke loin on sale. As soon as daughter gets up…

Stay hunkered, all! Happy Thursday!!
