I find that enormously surprising.
Despite it being a septic tank in question, her yahd has so damn many trees I’m surprised they even own lawnmowing equipment. A leaf vacuum, on the other hand…
The main reason there’s no grass is that it’s right outside the basement door and it’s where we park the truck to load and unload basement stuff. Plus when we were doing construction, it’s where we piled the debris, so grass doesn’t stand a chance.
Add to that the rainless summer - bingo - no grass.
I’m awake and getting ready for my studying spree.
Nice story, tugig.
Mom, you obviously live a charmed life. If I parked a truck over a septic tank, one morning I’d awake and wouldn’t see my truck.
I wish we could have basements down here but we don’t because whenever we’re not in a drought, it’s flooding.
**lieu **- as hard as the dirt was packed over the tank, I don’t think there’d be a problem. Poor guy worked his butt off digging down to the access. Honestly, we worry more about driving over the drain field. I will talk to the guy about parking there, tho.
They’re pumping it out right now - I went out long enough to take a couple of photos for FCD, but it’s too fragrant for me at the moment.
She bakes cookies for G-d, or something.
no, flytrap, it’s just that I’m nice, dammit!
Speaking of nice, I got an email from the store - they’ve go a check for my July sales ready for pickup. As soon as these guys are done, I’m gonna go get $$$$! It should top my $13.11 from June. It just might be enough to pay the electric bill for the cost of running the kiln last week…
On the way from Key West to Ft. Liquordale.
Good gad, think of your income tax bracket!
Re: tornado - my station had someone email a photo.
Blurf. My goals today are: do not be crabby at irk, do not swear during irk hours, do not kill anyone at irk. Since I’m not in a good mood, I didn’t think about my work ensemble so put on white linen dress trousers, a sky blue silk tee, and a white jacket. I realized I look like a physician…and I work at a hospital…maybe I can make extra money free-lancing today…
Ah - I recognize the stacks at the power plant near Benedict! Cool photos!
Well, I don’t know if it’s a good sign or bad, but the truck had to go to LaPlata to empty and it’ll come back to finish pumping our tank. So, is it a really big tank or was their truck half full to begin with?
Mawnin all,
Spent the past two days building one fence and tearing down another, I am a little achy.
That is all for now, Blurf
JIM
Wow, Jim, I didn’t know you were into fencing. How very Olympian of you!
Good one MOOOOOOOOOM
I’s hongry. What to do, what to do! I know, I’ll go next door to the tech school. I can get a BLT piled high with yummy bacon and fries for $1.75. Nummy and cheap!
ETA: That’s a BLT and a side of fries, not a BLT with fries on the sammich. Though… that does sound good.
2gig, good story on the Sikhs - what a large turn-out for the vigil and a good mix, as the spokeswoman noted. Glad that you felt so welcomed.
It continues to be in the nineties and hot here in ABQ - par for the course for August, apparently! Ah well, it hasn’t been humid, or at least not as humid as it usually is back East. LOL My daughter ventured to one of the local farmer’s markets yesterday so now we have some fresh home-grown 'maters (yay, a BLT for me!!) and a fresh watermelon to boot. Yes, we did get some green beans too.
Am looking forward to the Perry Mason marathon on the Hallmark Movie Channel this coming weekend. Love that show!
Hope everyone enjoys their Wednesday - at least it is hump day and the week is halfway to the weekend now. Right?
Good morning all.
I woke the first time when my husband left for work, woke at just before seven to tell my son to take out the yard waste bin and garbage, and finally gave up and got up around 8:30. Now, I’m kind of pissed at myself for wasting the morning away in bed.
I have a couple of errands to run today and will probably do some more chores around the house. I spent four hour just steam cleaning my den yesterday. Why? Well, once again I was out of spot treater, so I got down on my hands and knees with the tool attachment on my steam cleaner and went to town on the entire carpet. After that, I went over it with the big unit. Actually, I went over and over and over and over it. I must say, the carpet looks much better, but I’ll have to consider renting a commercial cleaner sometime.
Time for another cup of coffee.
I’m re-reading some old Peanuts strips. Remembering when every guy was crazy about Olivia Newton-John, and knowing what a mechanical typewriter is, are making me feel ancient.
