Yeah, but who’s to say whether Henry is telling the truth? We’ve already established that he’s sort of a liar.
Oh, dude, I so totally called the Libby in the nuthouse thing. Well, ok, so most of us did. But that’s sweet.
And confirms what I’ve long thought.
Did he say he didn’t press the button? I thought he was saying that the clock went to zero and nothing happened. He must have done something to make the blast doors go up?
What is the significance of Libby having been a patient in the psych ward? She’s lying about being a therapist and about how she knows Hurley. We don’t know what is/was wrong with her… any ideas of how this will affect the story line?
They’re both crazy and are making it all up together.
Well, cliches or not, I really enjoyed this episode. FakeDave was a good character, I love me some Bruce Davidson (the Dr.) and OtherHenry’s story is tantalizing. I was SO waiting for him to say “…they looked like Heiroglyphics. I think one was a penguin…”
So…think he’s lying about NOT entering the numbers? Maybe he’s just trying to get Locke to stop pushing the button. I’m very interested to find out just what he meant by “God doesn’t see this place any better than anyone else does” (or something like that). And Sawyer getting beat up while his nicknames are thrown back at him? A good quip from Charlie, a shirtless shot of Eko, and even Ana-Lucia isn’t annoying. Lots of good stuff this ep! Yay, Lost is back!
sort opf a liar? he’s almost pathalogical. He teslls a story, Sayid finds proof that it is a lie, he tesll another story, Sayid finds proof that it is a lie…
Since fake Henry said guy in a beard was “nobody”, I automatically assume that he IS important.
Does AL have a plan other than be “good cop” (to Sayid’s bad)?
Did Hurley bring clorazipan(?) with hime? If not, how likely is there some on the plane?
I assume others say the number reference (deck designed for 8, 23 actually on the deck)

You know, Sawyer getting owned never, ever stops being funny. It’s brilliant.
I think they did leave it somewhat open at the end; when Hurley asks Libby if she saw him holding the slipper and she said no, that was pretty convincing that the whole thing was real for him. But he was hiding the slipper so she wouldn’t have seen in the first place, and he could easily go back and find it…
I’m not feeling the Kate / Sawyer so much these episodes (granted, he did just screw her and everyone on the island over and betray their trust, but…). As a shipper, I demand this situation stop immediately!
Who’s to think that Henry isn’t just screwing with Locke’s mind? Yeah, he says he’s not lying anymore…
Man oh man am I ever going to be pissed if the last season and a half of this show is going to be ruined by some lame ass “It was all in my/our mind/s!” copout. I’d like to say I could trust the writers of Lost not to screw over such a good series, but I’ve been betrayed before
You know, I have to admit, your last sentence and your sig line…
Yep.
Pseudo-Gale: I crawled through your vents and I stood at your computer as the alarm beeped. And you know what happened? The timer went all the way down to zero, and then some funny red pictures flipped up in its place. They looked like hieroglyphics, but… I’m no expert. And then things got real interesting. There was a loud clunking and a hum, like a magnet… a big magnet. It was really very frightening. And do you know what happened next? Nothing happened, John. Nothing happened at all. Your timer just flipped back to 108. I never entered the numbers. I never pressed the button.
Locke: You’re lying.
Pseudo-Gale: I’m done lying…
And what’s that? Purgatory? Or something else?
Good point about Pseudo-Gale being not just a liar, but a pathological one. He proved his continuing willingness to lie in the interrogation by Sayid.
Although, we do have other reason to believe that Bluebeard, of the glue-on-beard, is not the head honcho – from the Claire episode. When he talked about “Him” (in the hallway conversaion with Ethan), where you could just about hear the capitalization in how he said it.
There’s some big “Him” that’s being referred to here. Somebody higher up than Bluebeard, obviously.
Although I certainly wouldn’t consider Bluebeard to be “nobody”. He’s still the primary antagonist “Other” that we’ve seen so far.
Clonazepam - or klonipin.

I’ve been on it for a time; it’s a pretty mild sedative, at least at low doses. I’m unaware of any uses for it battling imaginary friends.
Don’t forget Jabba.
Dave’s not here man.
I thought it was bad writing to assume that the audience (for this show, anyway) would be surprised that Dave wasn’t real and treat it like some big revelation. They should have just assumed we’d figure that out.
Still, I loved the episode. Hurley kicking Sawyer’s ass was worth the price of admission, but I enjoyed the rest of the episode, as well.
Clonazepam (Klonopin) is fairly common, and if there isn’t any of that, there is almost certainly another benzodiazepine like Xanax or Valium in there. It isn’t a good medicine for psychotic symptoms like hallucinations, though; an antipsychotic like Haldol or Seroquel would be more appropriate.
Popping in to say that, before and during the show, I was reading this thread.
Kudos to all on that. What clued you in?
I think they probably did assume that – it seemed pretty obvious when the doctor was taking the Polaroid. And notice that they didn’t make it the big “revelation” at the end, right before “L O S T” appeared on the screen – it was maybe 40 minutes in. I think they figured that some viewers might not figure it out in advance, but many (if not most) would.
Of course, most of us had already guessed the big actual “revelation” (Libby being in the mental hospital along with Hurley) in advance, as well…
Well, I don’t know about the others, but for me, it was when Hurley and Libby talked a number of episodes back, over the laundry machines. Hurley thinking he recognized her from somewhere, and Libby seemed like she was trying to deflect the conversation elsewhere. Seemed to indicate that Libby did recognize him, and the likely reason she’d be not wanting to keep the conversation in that direction would be that it’s something she’s embarrassed about. Like being a patient right along with Hurley.
If he recognized her, it had to be from something in his past, and the primary thing we knew about (besides the lottery) was the mental hospital.
The writers could have kept us guessing a bit longer if Dave hadn’t been wearing that bathrobe on the island, and if he hadn’t been ignored in the basketball game, and if we didn’t know that Hurley didn’t pick up any keys off the guard’s desk. But mostly the bathrobe.
But I didn’t pick up on the reason for the doc taking the picture. Good call, you Lost geeks.
Well-written episode. Everything Dave/Hurley said and did was perfect.
