Well, the personal stuff was good and juicy tonight, but the police plot had enough holes in it to drive trucks through. Such as:
How many college labs have bulletproof glass?
How did they do all the checking around they did and still have time to drive to Pasadena from L.A. in 60 minutes?
How could the professor, who’s apparently smart enough to hack someone else’s account and send untraceable emails almost instantly after receiving the note from Chloe, not be smart enough to do a backup on his dissertation file so he doesn’t have to worry about losing his laptop in a car accident?
I’d also like to know how Doctor Doofus managed to get hold of the vials from last week’s episode, but that’s not a plot hole (yet) because I’m assuming it will be revealed next episode.
Yes, the writing has gotten stupid enough, and the family dynamics so Greek god-like insane, I’ve been ready to give up on the show. Until now, when I just read that Timothy Omundson is going to play God. God Johnson. I love Timothy Omundson, and his beard is certainly god-like, so I’m in.
The show continues to provide some awesome amusement! I particularly enjoyed seeing Charlotte seeking advice (or, more accurately, attempting to manipulate) Linda. Fun scene! And I continue to be hopelessly in lust with Mazikeen…
I just went to the IMDB to look him up. Holy Crap! I gotta agree with you about that beard – it just screams “deity”! Truly impressive. Great casting choice!
Two things about that (sorry I’ve missed some episodes), 1) does Chole really believe he’s the devil? Has she seen him like the Therapist did? and 2) Why did her dream-Lucifer have the scars from the wing-removal and his horns? Had she seen him shirtless in previous episode?
Love the poster name/post combo here - shouldn’t you know?
No, she hasn’t seen him as the Devil yet, but he’s told her he is on numerous occasions.
She has seen the scars before - she asked him about them, and he told her they were from cutting off his wings. She didn’t believe him, of course, but she’s seen them.
Funny bits: Both Maze and Linda are backing out on killing Lucifer, so he grabs the paddles and
shocks himself. Maze grabbing the paddles and killing Lucifer’s Mom mid-sentence.
The version of Hell shown makes sense. Hell comes from your own mind. But then, where do demons as torturers come into it?
Glad that Lucifer’s Mom turned out to have at least one good quality. Lucifer himself has come a long way on his road to redemption. Glad Amenadiel stepped up. D.B. Woodside has the most beautiful eyes…
Why the instant assumption that the creation of Chloe was an attempt at manipulation, rather than a gift?
They are probably there to help the process along. Consider the torture we’ve seen: Now the bad doctor knows he holds the keys to his jail cell, but he doesn’t have the ability to open the lock. Now he knows he’s in hell, rather than just wondering what the hell is going on. Now he’s had the hope of being freed shattered as Lucifer walked away. He’s much worse off now.
Lucifer’s Dad is the kingpin of “mysterious ways” and “has a plan” and “when you’ve done it right, people won’t be sure you’ve done anything at all”
Lucifer himself is probably under some PTSD over being lord of hell for millennia and reverts back to the blame game every time something seems off.
When you hate someone and have a huge streak of narcissism, you can start assuming everything they do is some way to get back at you. Even if in this case it’s a chance for reconciliation.
Great episode. Nice to see Uriel back, and Lucifer’s own version of Hell. It’s going to be hard to wait for May to find out what happens, though. I called it that he’d be gone when Chloe came to see him, but I wonder where he went.
I thought this was where we’d get rid of Mum–I thought she was a short-term guest star, not a regular. Maybe her arc will finish in this season.
I missed something – Lucy went to hell to get tge recipe for the antidote, but at the same time, Ella and Douche were trying to get a specific ingrediant from Ella’s brother (i.e. it looked like they didn’t have the recipe yet).
