M-O-O-N that spells MMP

Nelson got to play with his bud Billy (a big dog, but comes over to the small dog side to visit friends from puppyhood from time to time), but the overcast sky kept the rest of the posse away this evening. :frowning:

We got ribs for supper and Nelson got a pup cup from the BBQ place.

I did manage a short ride this afternoon. It was good to get out on the back roads again. Now to loaf around in the studio.

OMG sorry, I forgot to share the best part of my day with you guys … a girl came through the line today with a PARROT ON HER SHOULDER one of those big blue-and-gold macaws!!

She told him to gimme a hello, and it picked up its foot and waved at me :blue_heart::purple_heart: made my day!

Too bad you couldn’t get a picture of the pretty bird.

Shoe: One of the good things about working in the bakery was tomato season. People would bring them in, and as soon as the first pan of hard rolls was out of the oven and cool enough to handle the cake decorator (the only one who had time for such activities) would start slicing rolls, buttering them, adding tomato slices, and passing them out…

coldstone and 31 flavors both deliver via door dash … lately tho i get my ice cream from the truck that comes by… .sometimes every day sometimes not …

got cu toff and took to long for an edit

Coldstone and 31 flavors both deliver via door dash … lately tho I get my ice cream from the truck that comes by… .sometimes every day sometimes not … This week not much exciting going on other than getting yelled at for discussing my less than perfect family life and it is all my fault…

The most entertaining thing this week is our favorite farming RPG came out after a multi-year absence sos I’ve been playing that on the switch … https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/story-seasons-friends-mineral-town-210059642.html
if anyone wants to check out a quick synopsis

Oh, we did have one entertaining thing … there was a guinea pig found in the front yard …and we surmise he was someone’s pet but has PTSD because being out the amount the feral felines … normally they get along fine but the ferals around here tend to shred first and then look to see what was shredded …we’ve been feeding it veggies snd such but he needs its food … hopefully, tomorrow we can get some but its been made clear he’s not staying

Sausages, corn on the cob, cabbage salad.

A pair of pileated woodpeckers were in our yard–we’ve never seen them in Oregon.

Oh, bother, I meant to have an ear of corn with my dinner. Totally forgot!
… but I did roast an entire head of garlic, and smashed several cloves into the sirloin along with some butter. That was delicious!

Now chillage with a nice hot cuppa tea is occurring, accompanied by some dark chocolate gelato. Another episode of “3rd Rock From the Sun” and then beddy-bye time.

My favorite ice cream shop is south of me near where I used to live–34 miles limits my visits to once every 6 to 8 weeks, and my glucose meter thanks me.

I’ve been busy with mundane stuff. F’rinstance, right now I’m doing laundry load #2. The excitement! The drama!

It’ll be 95 here on Monday. To those of you in certain heat-wavy parts of the country, that’s nothing new, and you probably have AC, but to those of us here in the PNW, that’s hot, and I have no AC. I’ll survive, but I’ll grump about it.

shoe, what a cool experience! I wish someone with a parrot on her shoulder would walk by me!

nut, you gave me my chuckle for the day. Well played.

I want butter pecan ice cream. I’m not about to walk 1 mile to the store to get it, though. Y’all have some for me, please.

So, is it the gerbil or yourself that you are trying to convince that he/she is not staying?*
*asked by someone who has owned (or been owned by) at least 4 cats who came to my door as wet, bedraggled kittens. But, in my defense, it was never taking in more than two kittens at a time. One of them spent her life named “Orphan”, as in: “tomorrow morning we are going to take the ‘orphan’ kitten to the shelter“. Enough said, never happened.

Mooooom, I see your orphans court, and raise you a less than 1% ownership by a tribe of Indians half way across the continent. When my parents bought their 1928 fixer-upper, the owner had shed her mortal coil two presidents previously, and tracking down everyone who had a fractional (VERY tiny fractional) interest took forever.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 72 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 92 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. Today’s agenda includes virtual deheathenization, N.O.L., and some quality cee-mint pond time which we did not do yestiddy cause it stayed mostly cloudy and then rained off and on all afternoon and into the evenin’. JDD and Partner will be over around eleven. We shall have Bloody Mary’s and then the big feast. Afterward we shall retire to the cee-mint pond. We will not wait the one or two hours or whatever it is one is supposed to wait after eatin’ to go swimmin’. We’re grumpy old rebels! :older_man:

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then, onward into the day! Rah.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

Afternoon, mumpers! Happy Sunday, indeed…for I have been to the new gym - it’s not really new since I was member there before I bailed but now my close-to-home gym chain has been bought out by the old gym, they’ve closed it down and transferred memberships to the place I used to go. Are you keeping up with all that? Any road up, I have a new membership number, got a class timetable and wore myself out in a 45-minute spin class. Now I need to decide which class to do tomorrow…

I’ve been pretty productive for a Sunday since I fed and medicated the mogs before I went out, had breakfast and two cups of tea, did the gym thing, came back and had a bath then put the laundry on. Blokie is making dinner tonight so he got up at 10am to put his marinated pork shoulder in the slow-cooker, then retired to his pit and has only just resurfaced in the last five minutes.

I also found out that a book I submitted a bit of writing for is in publication and I should have my very own copy in 3-4 weeks. Such excitement in my day!

Last week I emailed my mum’s solicitor to see what the state of the estate is…he’s co-executor of her Will so he’s dealing with all the legal stuff for me. Turns out there’s a policy she took out as a single investment against my life, and there is some uncertainty about whether this falls into the estate distribution or not. He’s sending me a copy of the letter he’s had and suggests I get some financial advice on said subject. Now I have to find someone to provide appropriate advice since my go-to guy for such things passed away last month.

I’ll save that for Monday…I got the expected rejection from the interview but that’s ok, gives me a bit of breathing space and thinking time, since relocation north of the border is A Big Thing what requires a bit of thought and some planning.

Ho hum…onwards into the afternoon then, must be time to find out what the cat wants for lunch since he insists on having some of whatever I’m having.

Dunno what’s going on with my subconscious, but I had another dream about Roxy falling into water - NOT the way to wake up!

And not sure what the day holds. Daughter didn’t hear from the realtor yesterday, but I’m guessing with it being the weekend and the seller being many miles away, it shouldn’t spark concern. It better not - she’s already planning furniture placement.

I suggested to FCD that we fetch his folks to come stay with us for a month or two after the kids move out. Anything to get them out of Florida, plus at their age, well, mortality and all that… We shall see how that works out.

As for today, I’ll spend part of it wrangling Roxy. She’s not going to see her other grandmother and SIL has to work in the middle of the day. Daughter will be helping FCD clean his shop - he’s got a customer coming on Tuesday. I’ll probably take the kid to the park for a while. Or not. But we definitely won’t be going to the park at the Leonardtown Wharf! :open_mouth:

Happy Sunday, all!

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off today. I shall do a load of laundry, and clean the bathroom.

Happy Sunday!

It’s a muggy 77 degrees outside, supposed to get up into the mid-90s.
Today could be a good day for a dog named Tucker, his potential adoptive parents are coming to check him out. He is the sweetest dog, with beautiful green eyes. If all the paper irk is on order they can take him today. All of us are hoping his new owners will bring him to the park in the mornings so we can see him. I think all of us are in love with him.
Echo is being full of herself. We finally figured out she is protecting me, and Ripple, from any new dogs that come to the park. Even though it’s just a lot of noise and no substance behind it, it’s something I need to irk on.
Ripple was in rare form today. He usually acts like an old man, but he was super playful this morning.

Soory about the rejection letter BooFae,

At least you daughter only has to deal with one heir, FCM, so you won’t have half the heirs waiting until the closing date to try to block the sale.

I didn’t get much done yesterday, and am not expecting to get much done today either.
Sloth has taken over.

Forgot to tell @susan how cool it is that you saw a pair of pileateds! May their eggs be fertile and their hatchlings healthy, and may their nests all be fruitful and free from marauding starlings.

I oughta water my plants this morning, then it’s off to another day at the salt mines … I mean, the drug corner … I mean, the perfectly legitimate retail establishment … I mean, irk.

Plus there were already 2 other contracts which didn’t happen. One was a couple who demanded every.single.item on the inspection list be fixed (they presented 3 pages of items) - even stupid simple ones like replacing a 29¢ switch plate. The seller declined.

The other buyer backed out after finding out the HOA wouldn’t permit a fence. So we’re hoping the third one’s the charm, altho we may not know till tomorrow…

With all of the ado surrounding the funerals in the last ten days, it is good to get back to normal. We are off to get breakfast at our usual Sunday morning spot. I am firing up my off set about 11.00 for a few racks of pork ribs. My next door neighbors were really helpful with the tree fall, and a couple of racks will go to them.

Happy Sunday
