M-O-O-N that spells MMP

Morning all. 78F heading for 88F with a 60% chance of rain (I did get a little rain late last night, we’ll see what this afternoon provides).

Sari, good news about Tucker, hope his new family loves him as much as the park does.

FCM, hope the deal goes through. I bought my house new so there wasn’t the trieals and tribulations of finding the owners.

boo fae, congrats on the book. Sad for the rejection, but sounds like you were planning ahead on it.

swampy, you’re spending a whole lot of time out at the cement pond these days…don’t end up wrinkled…

Alien, I have a large woods two houses from me (I’m on a cul-de-sac) and I’ve been told that the reason it hasn’t been developed is that members of a large and extended family own it and can’t agree about anything in selling it to developers. So I get to keep the woods, which I take as a good thing.

Nellie, stay cool. Presume you have a couple of fans to help the air circulate.

All y’all take care now.

There are 3 gelato places within 45 minutes, but no actual ice cream stands. And they use hazelnuts, walnuts, almonds, and maybe peanuts, but pecans are not well known here. They are almost considered exotic and cost accordingly. They are 4x as expensive as walnuts, for example.

I’m not really fond of hazelnuts. So if something has nuts

Almost seven of the clock, and I’m dosing myself with a cuppa joe.

The Shed Report

We’re almost done painting the shed. We each have half a wall left to do. Mrs. L.A. didn’t finish her side because her back was getting sore, and I didn’t finish my side because I thought the pulled pork was about done. I went to The Re-Store yesterday while Mrs. L.A. started painting, to look for a door. They has lots of doors… mostly 24" wide, 28" wide, and 36" wide. I needed one 30" wide. They had two. None of the doors were as short as 68", which is what I need. I bought one 77" tall. It’s solid wood with a sunken panel with moulding in the middle. Fortunately there’s enough ‘meat’ on it I can cut it to size. I don’t think my little Craftsman circular saw is up to the task, and I’d like to make sure the cuts are straight and square. I took the door to the hardware store, hoping they could cut it for me. They said their panel saw wasn’t skookum enough to cut it, and suggested a place in Lynden. The place in Lynden asked me to send photos, which I did. They said they could indeed cut it on their table saw, but only Monday through Friday. The door is glossy white, so Mrs. L.A. wants to paint it grey. That’s unfortunate, but the sun is glaring when it reflects off of the previously white shed, and the delaminating door that I painted white.

The pulled pork was very good. I dropped a large piece of fat, and Goo found it. That girl is ravenous!

My internet has been stupid this week due to the regularly-scheduled afternoon thunderstorms so I haven’t been keeping up at all. I also lost two hours of irk because the internet went completely out a couple of days in a row. It seems to be working now, she says, giving it a stern side-eye.

Murphy Kitten has started chirping to himself when he’s in the litterbox. I have no idea what he’s talking about in there. Cats are weird.

Because I know swampy missed it, I finally got a Saturday Short up. It’s about corporations and sketchy lawyers.

Time to break up the daily catfight. Where’s the Kitty Correction Fluid?

:anguished:

I managed to actually surface at a broadly acceptable time today, considering that it’s Sunday. Did the washing, played and won a round of the traditional British summertime game of ‘put the laundry on the line and take it off before the rain starts again’, and went to pick some blackberries (found another lizard while doing so- I had no idea there were any in that little park!). I might turn them into crumble later, but that requires going to the shop to get some ice cream or similar, as crumble is a little dry without. Alternatively, I might leave the crumbling til tomorrow, when I was planning on doing a proper shop- the supermarkets all close at 4pm on Sunday here, which is imminent, so any ice cream purchasing would be at the little shop which is only a few streets away, but at the bottom of an unnecessarily steep hill which my flat is at the top of… Avoiding walking back up the hill may win out.

I have had coffee and walked Gordie. Alex Catt had knocked over my beer stein, bending the lid, and flung herself at the spice rack, destroying 2 jars. I may rename her “Gurthag The Destroyer”.

Lizard crumble? With a side of Crunchy Frog, perhaps?

Cats, Murphy made himself a pooping song. :joy: :cat:

And good luck to Tucker Dog!

Aren’t you a bit off every day doggio? :d&r:

I hope Tucker’s adoption works out well and you get to see him at the park sari.

Sorry about the job boofae.

hippie, I like the sound of your neighborhood.

We have a wonderful family owned ice cream shop here called Janarty’s Redirecting... . I have to liimit myself to once a month, but it’s all made in small batches and they make their own waffle cones. You never know what kind of new flavor they are making next.

Up, caffeinating, brunched, supper in the crock (veggie lentil soup) and fixing to do KP. I’ll play around in the studio today and, if it doesn’t get too hot or look like rain, take Nelson to the park after the Sunday chores are done.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

Even if I wasn’t vegetarian, lizards are friends not food. Mr. Lizard would be welcome to try some crumble should he so desire, but I think he’d probably prefer some crunchy bug snacks. :lizard:

Dammit, if everyone keeps talking about ice cream I’m gonna have to go buy some. I’m s’posed to be cutting down on stuff like that so I can still fit in my irk clothes by the time I have to go into irk again.

On the other hand, if you have to hike back up a hill, that should burn off a few ice cream calories, right?

I am now officially a Consumer Cellular geezer! I managed to get my AT&T prepaid account down to about $3 which I know I won’t get back - no biggie. It took 3 phone calls and putting the AT&T SIM back in my old flip phone so they could send me a PIN so I could give it to CC so they could transfer the number. But it’s all good now. Unlimited texts, 250 minutes per month (more than I used in 3 months before) and half a gig of data (which I never had before anyway.) All for $19/month. And they use the AT&T network, so I know my coverage.

Kicking and screaming into the 21st century!

Roxy and I played outside for a bit, and now she’s napping. Daughter is cleaning FCD’s shop. Either later today or first thing tomorrow, I’ll mow the back yard - holy crap, does that grass grow fast!! But for now, it’s quiet time at FairyChatEstates. Well, quiet except for Cozmo’s snorting pug noises!

The offer was accepted! If all goes well, by the end of next month, daughter will be a homeowner!!

Happy Sunday! I used to hate Sundays when I was a kid. I liked going to Mass OK, but the rest of the day seemed long and dull: no stores open back then, nothing good on TV, and often friends weren’t able to play or I wasn’t, as Sunday was visiting relatives day, though we had fun when my cousins came over. Otherwise, blah. These days I love Sundays because both my kids call, and it’s my day off from working out.

I have the apartment closed up, though it’s “only” getting into the 80’s today. I do have fans and will employ as needed. Maybe I’ll just stay in the bathtub tomorrow. Call it the Porcelain Pond.

Moooom, wonderful news about the house!

hippie, nice neighbors will doubtless be thrilled to get ribs.

nut, did you end up getting ice cream? I hope you did. It seems like such a nice treat on a summer Sunday.

doggio, which two spices did Alex Catt knock off? Maybe he was trying to spice up his cat food.

Still purging clothes. Why do I own enough clothes for ten people? Ya’ll remember my lost bag of clothes when we went to the horsepistol? I was sure I left it here at home. Nope. Never did turn up. Very strange.

I hear tell that the new Director is writing a dress code which we have never had. I guess my days of blue jeans at irk are over. I has a sad about that. But,I found lots of non denim pants whilst purging and most are the right size. I shall procure a new pile of irk shirts from irk and I will be set. I told my clerks they can’t wear shorts to work anymore. For 17 years I have worn what I wanted and for 10 1/2 years I took my dog to Irk. The end of an era.

I have irk to do. I brought home my irk computer and a mobile hotspot. Hopefully I can make it irk so I don’t have to go into the office. I have still tons of training I am on a dink list for plus evals and SOP’s.

I shall cook up a roasted chicken (yes we eat a lot due to low sodium diet) and hubs is planning the sides which shall be squish, carrots and I’m sure some beans or peas of some kind.

I have read some but not all. I am not liking the endless page. Happy Sunday everyone!

None of those fancy ice cream places around here, but DQ is just down the road…

Breakfast was a bacon cheeseburger and NOL may be a tuna sandwich – trying to decide if I feel energetic enough to make one. Red-lentil pziti (wheat is not Lady SCAdian’s friend) with tomato-and-olive sauce for supper.

She know 20 down. Broke the empty paddystraw mushroom jar, and cracked the lid on the galic powder.

Well, that’s just feline delinquency then. Sorry I forgot Alex Catt was a female.

I find hard cider, liberally applied to the scullery maid (me), works pretty well as a kitty correction fluid.

Could be worse, Murphy Kitten could come onto your litter box while you’re using it and chirp.

Boo

I’ve just discovered that someone stole my 1994 Yamaha Seca II. I don’t know when, but I just noticed it today. It was behind the R1, and next to the MGB in the canopy garage.

:icecream::icecream::icecream:I take the shortest path (and cheapest so I can do it more often)—McDonald’s hot fudge sundae. Sometimes I get wild and crazy (truth be told, I’m always wild and crazy) and switch it up to their hot caramel sundae. If they had pecans I would take a big scoop on either of those, but alas.

Boo

IMHO, Gelato is waaay better than ice cream. When done properly. But then, I like Dairy Queen, so what do I know?

We slept in this morning, yay! It’s the first time in I don’t know how long that I’ve gotten more than 6 hours of sleep. Too bad it’s 89F here, heading for 95F. Otherwise we might go outside and do something rash.
Actually we’ve already gone outside and watered the veg out back. We have a volunteer sunflower out there and an old grapevine, which has grapes on it.
On the agenda today is fiddling with the sprinklers in the front yard to see if they’re getting all of the lawn wet or not. Patches of our grass are dead brown out there. Beyond that ???

For those who keep track: Dinner last night was homemade pizza on homemade dough, with TJ’s pizza sauce, green chilies, a mix of turkey burger and italian sausage, green bell peppers, mozzarella, with fresh basil on top.
Breakfast this morning was an omelette with green chilies, (leftovers from last night), green onions and sharp cheddar and goat cheese.

Sorry about your bike Johnny. Personally, I think people should be allowed to shoot thieves. I hates 'em, I does. :rage:
I have retained little else, so hugs, boos, salmons, etc. and onward!

To infinity, and beyond!
:Buzz Lightyear:

Howdy Y’all! We deheathenated, the boys came over, we had Bloody Mary’s, followed by a hyuuuuuuge N.O.L./Sunday Dinner, and then spent some time in the cee-mint pond. We sent them home with leftovers and we have leftovers for tomorrow’s sup so all win-win. Now we be inside and chillin’ in the a/c. ‘Tis hawt out. The kind of hawt that feels like a storm may be brewin’ later on.

MetalMouse we are already wrinkly cause we are grumpy old men. However, no need to worry, cause about three hours is usually as long as we ever stay out at the cee-mint pond and there’s a gazebo thingy we use for shade when we’re out there.

BooFae cool about the book, but sorry about the job. That just means there’s a better one out there.

MOOOOOOM yay on the house! May they be happy there.

Nuts I too am curious. Did you ever get ice cream?

Hippie you have some good neighbors there and you’re a good neighbor to share ribs. YUM!

Everybody else, yays, boos, hugs, noogies, trouts, chitlins, and how YOU doin’s all around, as needed.
