People seem to be doing that instead of strikeout.
I experience the blur as a written punchline-sort of a stand-up comedian’s timing, saying “wait for it”.
Adds a delicious little thrill to my day. I always enjoy it. In my quarantine weeks and months fun surprises are hard to come by.

You’re welcome.
Home from the dog park, in time to miss the rain and stuff.
It was hot and humid, but the dogs decided they wanted to go, so I took them.
Nellie I got it from da jungle ‘S-ZONE PU Leather RFID Blocking Crossbody Cell Phone Bag for Women Wallet Purse’ and this one ‘Small Crossbody Phone Bag for Women,Cellphone Shoulder Bags Card Holder Wallet Purse’ which is just a little bit bigger.
They both have a window for your ID, slots for credit cards, a place for money. There are zippers and snaps so stuff can’t fall out. I had that problem with my first phone case, the phone was held in by a magnet but if bumped the wrong way, the phone would fall out. Of the two I like the first one better, the zipper slides smoother and you don’t have to take your ID out of the slot to show it somebody. The second one, the ID slot is in a deep pocket where nobody can see it, kind of worthless to have a clear window in a deep pocket. However, it comes with both a wrist and a crossbody strap, and it is slightly bigger and will hold a bit more. You could probably carry a little bit of makeup and stuff too. Both were about $20, but if you want to get all fancy like, Vera Bradley has some really nice crossbody phone bags. It also depends on what kind of phone you have. My Note 10 fits easily into either of them, but I don’t know if a bigger phone would. These two bags aren’t made for any specific phone, so unlike the one Echo broke, neither came with a phone case.
Is there a way to do a link to da jungle without it bringing up my account information?
sari - just log out, then link to the page.
Looks like daughter and SIL will put in an offer on the house. We shall see how it goes.
Supper was good. Dishes are washing. I’m about to assume the chill position for the evening.
UPS is on My List now.
FCM, here’s hoping they get the house…for them it’ll be a home of their own, and for you you get back a home of your own. Albeit I expect Roxy will be a frequent visitor…
And let’s see if the blurring works: spidey is a big poopy-head
nellie, you ought to change your name to Ann Landers, it looks like you get to deal with everybody’s problems…don’t let them wear you down.
Herald, OUCH! I don’t think I’ve ever torn a nail completely off, but I’ve shortened them enough that I know it’s not a fun feeling. Be well
.
Got the lawn mowed with two breaks, three bags of clippings, and a lot of sweat. Don’t really feel like eating right now (had 2 cheeseburgers for lunch), so I may head over the ice cream place for a big old Butter Pecan cone. The more I think about it the better that idea sounds.
All y’all take care now.
Sort was a a tad chaotic, a few people called out. Can you believe someone would willinging miss a chance to go in at 0dark30 and throw around 70lbs lawn mowers in an un air conditioned warehouse? ![]()
Oh, I know, I know. The bees were a really nice touch.
I don’t think that will happen to me. Unless it was a tiny piano. Or an anvil.

Don’t work too hard doggio!
gotti, I have the same opinion of GC. The last one I was in was somewhere in the middle of Mississippi about 20 years ago. It was the only place to eat at the exit off I55. Was.Not.Impressed.
metal mouse, I always loved that poem. Shel Silverstein was one of my favorite poets. One of my go-to baby gifts is usually one of his books. The tiny babies like the silly sounds and the older ones like the rhythm and humor.
I hope that you daughter and SIL get their house.
Irked, came home, walked the dog and et. Such excitement!
Stay safe and healthy y’all!
I’m sure your location is fine. Your brethren at San Pablo, CA are not fine. How many times can a box go out then hit a delivery exception and have its delivery date changed? And apparently they just don’t care if a red label (oops, showing my age!) Next Day Air package goes out and comes back to the depot that night? Not once, but twice? There’s a box of formerly frozen food that was supposed to be delivered yesterday. They’ll try again tomorrow.
Wait, your missing package is on dry ice? Weeeeeak!
By now, I’m sure the ice is quite dry and gone.
Good news, ported from my Meet Bob thread: Bobby’s New Milestone
Read the HOA rules real carefully, especially who has what powers. Some of them can be real nightmares. But otherwise, best of luck! ![]()
Red, I had a recording once (part of a Dr. Demento tape) where Shel Silverstein read that poem and I’ve never forgot it. (Here it is: Sarah Cynthia Sylvia Stout.wmv - YouTube)
Jacks Bats, I’ve followed your other thread, and this video is…

gotti, awaiting your report on the eventual delivery…in August…
No nappage but I should be sleeping pretty good tonight after the mowing. All y’all have a good night now.
And yes, I did get my 3-scoops of Butter Pecan (with real pecans) in a large waffle cone.
@Sahirrnee, wouldn’t a magnetic fastener on a phone case mess up things like debit cards?
Especially when the street is named Kangaroo Court
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 73 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 91 (BRRR!) and possibly mostly cloudy or possibly mostly N.O.S. I really cannot figure out what TWPTB are sayin’ on this. Anywho no big plans for the day at all which is fine by me. We did get da yahd mowed yestiddy so we are out of contention for worst lawn in the 'hood. There may or may not be quality cee-mint pond time. Sup shall be majik intartoobz pizza and sallit, which of course, makes it healthy.
I read all but have retained ought, so yays, boos, hugs, trouts, chitlins, noogies, and how YOU doin’s all around as needed.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah.
Happy Firday Y’all!
Happy Friday, indeed! I’m up for my usual pre-dawn bio break, basking in the warm glow of the knowledge that I can go back to sleep for however long I feel like it today.
(Cue angels singing the “Hallelujah” chorus.)
I haven’t yet put away the last batch of laundry but already need to do another load today. How come Life Stuff feels like that assembly line scene from “I Love Lucy” where you can never get caught up?
Well, if I accomplish both, I shall be quite pleased & proud of myself!
Lessee, what else? I have something to return at Wally Woyld, and a mess of loose beads to pick up in my car (a necklace I’d made snagged & broke) and no doubt a few other errands. It’s still too dark to see my To-Do List. ![]()
My kitty is purring, calling me, “Hey Purp let’s stretch out on the bed and be all comfy together, and you can pet my soft fur!”
She’s very convincing.
Back to bed!

Ha! Love that the 2nd emoji is called “tada.”
The development where they want to buy has been a work in progress for like 40 years! The house they’re wanting to buy was built in '82, so one of the older sections. Apparently each section, sometimes each street, has its own HOA. We saw nothing in the agreement to concern us - the fees are around $450/year and they cover trash collection and maintenance of the common area - which as far as we can tell is where the mailboxes are. There’s no playground in this particular section, tho they’re free to use any playground in the development. They would have to pay $600/year to use the pool facilities.
Anyway, this afternoon, they’ve got a ZOOM with the realtor to do the contract. Thanks to COVID, nothing is done in person. Even closing will be on line, which works since the seller is in FL. Assuming it all goes thru, the realtor said they could be in by the beginning of Sept. So there’s a dim, slightly flickering light at the end of the tunnel!
Today’s supposed to be in the lower 80s, overcast, with chance of rain all day. I’ll do a shorter walk in a bit, but I don’t expect much outdoor time. I may start working up a post-move to-do list. I’m going to paint the whole house, then we’ll recarpet. We’re giving the kids our living room furniture and we’ll need to replace it. We were going to give them the dining room set also, but the new house is too small. Maybe we’ll just get rid of the hutch, or move it to the basement, and I can reupholster the seats.
I’ll also need to shop for at least 1 new bed, and maybe a futon or trundle for Roxy’s room, since it will soon be empty. Oh, and I need 2 closet doors. The kids didn’t want doors on their closets - weird, right?
And the basement room where their critters have been living will need a serious cleaning and deodorizing. Between the critter smells and the “air freshener” they used, I can’t stand to be down there. I think some bleach or pine sol will do the trick. Not sure what we’ll do with that space, tho. TBD.
So big things may soon be happening at FairyChatEstates…
Happy Firday!!
