Now that I’ve got another voter on the **Nanook **wagon, I’m tempted to not jump off! I don’t think anyone should be getting a pass for laying low at this point. Just because someone’s away from the game for a bit or bored or whatever doesn’t make them not scum.
I’m trying to explore some new candidates, but yesterDay gives us a lot of data but few answers. I’ve already outlined my misgivings about voting MHaye , though I don’t think he’s getting a reprieve. Some thoughts, from my vote analysis:
Special ed threw out a lot of “me too” votes yesterday and nailed the coffin shut on Hal …who was town. Changing your vote repeatedly to go the way the town is going strikes me as trying not to be held accountable for your votes. That’s mega-suspicious to me. Special ed is also a champion bandwagon jumper, voting for the “winner” every Day but Day 4, when he put in a last-minute and non-game-changing vote for 2nd-place Hal .
Brewha would look really suspicious to me–he also made a crucial vote to swing things in Hal ’s direction–but I’ve still got strong townie feelings toward him from Day 1. I just can’t see scum bussing scum like that right out of the gate. It’s the same feeling that made me positive that Cookies was town, also back on Day 1. Scum would do anything for love…but they won’t do THAT. (No, no, no they won’t do that! )*
Zeriel : didn’t vote for three days , then voted and unvoted Blaster on Day 4. Votes MHaye early on Day 5, when he’s not really a top candidate. Leaves his vote there. The whole thing strikes me as playing it really, really safe. I don’t know whether it looks better for him if MHaye turns up scum or town.
I would be willing to vote for any of these three, but brewha only if I get something really convincing. But for now, I’m sticking with Nanook . Voted once all game, for Hal , solidifying his lead yesterDay.
*At least, I think not. And let’s face it, it was time for some Meatloaf. He was in RHPS…and that’s a campy horror movie, right?
Crikey - you accuse amrussel of poo flinging? Now you’re after Special Ed for me-too voting. Also your wording of your case against him is pretty extreme. He’s turned into a champion bandwagon jumper. While I don’t personally agree with voting alongside confirmed town unless I think their candidate is scummy, doing so isn’t necessarily a scum move, especially as two of those “bandwagons” were on scum. As for his voting Hal - he’s already said but I don’t think it’s been recognised that he made a case against Hal initially so wasn’t just bandwagon jumping in that instance.
Brewha you say made you suspicious but you get a “townie feeling” from him. So that’s one of the players garnering suspicion out of the way. Then you back up your reasoning by saying scum wouldn’t have voted for macey so early on in the game yet in one of the posts I’ve quoted above you say the exact opposite.
I think I’m on to something, and I’m going to make this vote early.
First of all, unvote Nanook .
I made a case against special ed yesterDay but didn’t change my vote. Everything that’s happened since then makes me positive that I’m on the trail of a scum. My previous case:
“Special ed threw out a lot of “me too” votes yesterday and nailed the coffin shut on Hal…who was town. Changing your vote repeatedly to go the way the town is going strikes me as trying not to be held accountable for your votes. That’s mega-suspicious to me. Special ed is also a champion bandwagon jumper, voting for the “winner” every Day but Day 4, when he put in a last-minute and non-game-changing vote for 2nd-place Hal.”
All of that still stands. But…now look at special ed ’s votes for MHaye :
He voted MHaye on Day 5…RIGHT BEFORE MHaye’s roleclaim. Less than an hour, in fact. It was THE last vote before the claim. It was a safe vote, because he KNEW there was going to be a claim. And he did it to gain townie cred right before the big reveal. He changed his vote to Hal along with everyone else, also, and we know what happened there. He could have left it alone, because his vote didn’t change anything, but he couldn’t have a rollover vote in case we kept going after MHaye on Day 6.
Then on Day 6, he changed his vote to MHaye later in the Day, when there was little to no prospect of him surviving the noose. This is bussing if I’ve ever seen it.
AND…to top it all off, MHaye ’s final parting vote was a shot in special ed’s direction. Well-put-together and nicely reasoned, but also a complete throwaway. This is textbook Mafia-covering-Mafia behavior, and I DO think MHaye would pull it.
Altogether, I hope we’re closing in on the scum, and I think this is our best bet for lightning to strike twice in a row. I’m not going with my gut; I’m reading the votes. It’s there.
Vote special ed
Basically Mr Special Ed can’t do right for doing wrong. He votes MHaye before his claim, unvotes him afterwards and goes back to voting for him along with the confirmed town later on. The reasons you give him for doing so are very inventive though.
Mrs. Millit won’t be participating in the gratutious nudity, but she might put on her nurse’s outfit and would definitely break into song! No kill, yay!
OK, let’s get serious toDay. I want to bust some more Deadites. I see that no one is picking up on my case against special ed , but I see another good candidate rising. A few players who have strong townie cred with me have put out good arguments against amrussell . I can buy it. Something about his analyses has struck me as forced and smudgy. There’s definitely a poo-flinging quality to his style, as someone mentioned, and I can’t forget how he outed Hockey Monkey . That whole exchange was bizarre to say the least. He commented on how various players were scummy for jumping on bandwagons (including MHaye ), but then he voted Hockey Monkey for “blending in.” Not for lurking (there were much bigger lurkers in the game to go after) or for not voting (she missed one vote, but that’s not what he’s going on about), but for being careful. What?
I’ll give up on special ed for now, but don’t think I won’t be back…
Unvote special ed
Vote amrussell
So the Mr Special Ed bandwagon hasn’t worked and now you’re onto amrussel. You totally contradict your earlier assessment of him too - this has already been brought up by amrussell so I won’t go into details.
That’s…bizarre. So the question is, would storyteller actually do that, to throw us for a loop, or is this a bit of misdirection that, frankly, doesn’t give scum much of an advantage? Huh, JSexton, huh, you scummy evildoer?
OK, I suppose the advantage to it would be that we could look at his arguments differently. Unless that’s what he WANTS us to do. If he’s lying, that is. :smack:
I’m completely undecided about amrussell now. But I’m still convinced I’ve got a bead on special ed , so here goes:
**
Unvote amrussell
Vote special ed**
Oh, and the spreadsheet will go live again in a matter of hours. Thanks for your patience.
Um - were you actually hoping anyone would buy this?
(snipped and bolded)
I repeat… “for us”?
As in, playing as if he were town.* Instead of playing for them . The way I said it in my head made sense, with the emphasis on “us,” but I can see how it’s an awkward phrase. I’m not a genius, but I’m really not dumb enough to be a scum making a slip by referring to myself as one.
*Looking closer, he didn’t say specifically that he was playing as if he were on the town’s side, but his “Go Town” comment made me assume so.
That is, of course, if we really believe him.
And this looks like total track covering to me.
Hahaha. OK, fine. I guess it’s my turn in the hot seat. If I did the same, though, I’d be voting zeriel or Natlaw, and I don’t think that’s a great idea. They haven’t picked up many votes and I don’t see it happening any time soon. So
Amrussell has a good point about me changing my tune on him. Those two statements were separated by a few days, and after reading more and more of his analysis, it all started to run together. It was probably a bad move on my part to let that influence my attitude toward him so strongly. I need to re-evaluate him big time, because he was right about JSexton all along. Amrussell and I use very different styles for trying to catch scum. Mine is all about the votes, and it hasn’t been working well yet this game, but I know there are other players who rely on voting records heavily also. (That’s why I put the spreadsheet together.) Whereas amrussell sifts through statements made and tried to find contradictions and changes in tone. Hey, it’s a valid method, and he actually caught a scum! Go amrussell!
So basically my defense is that I was confusing different styles of play with different motives in the game. It’s crappy play, which doesn’t surprise me coming from myself :o but is not excusable. Sorry guys.
Anyway, I’m still voting special ed. I know that he voted JSexton at a crucial time yesterDay, but saving him would have looked really bad when he turned up scum, and he wasn’t going to last another day. Is this really stretching it? I don’t think it makes him a townie to vote for a scum (yes, I’m banking on him doing it multiple times) when he’s up 4-2 at the very end of a Day and almost certainly going down.
You amaze me. You’d be looking at zeriel or Nanook. You’ve retracted your vote for amrussel now and you’re back to Mr Special Ed - well he’s garnered a bit of suspicion so it may actually work this time.
All in all, for the category of poo flinging champion of this game I think the shiny brown turd gong should be awarded to you. I’m tempted to reread your posts all over again and if there’s someone you haven’t mentioned in a negative light I’m going to guess they’re scum.
