Whats done is done, and it’s not that big a deal, but please to consider that from the viewpoint of the rest of Town (or from my POV, at least), Masons exist to be trusted, and to draw fire from the other power roles. If AH is truthful, there’s another Doc in the unconfirmed pool, would you prefer that Doc be hit instead of a Mason?

I had planned on clearing up the lie toDay no matter what had happened during the night. If I had died…I think I said on the Mason Boards that HM should have cleared it up in that case.
And since it was clear that the scum were going to be targeting in the unconfirmed pool, I had figured that the Doctor would self protect (though I should have specified that).

Can someone spell out what we will do with the information we get from a mass claim?
We don’t exactly what the roles are, and we’re guessing their basic powers. Let’s say that after the clailm we have: 2 confirmed Masons; 1 protective role; 1 back up doc; 1 role-blocker; 2 Alpha Vanilla; 3 Beta vanilla.
Who do we kill?
If it’s 8-2, then scum need us to make three mislynches while any protective roles fail. Does this plan help us avoid that? For example, if any protective role outs themselves, doesn’t that help the scum?
I think I can see a mass claim working, but I’d like to be sure we know what we plan to do with it.
He’s got a vote record and he’s been posting fairly regularly. If you want to make the case that he’s been carefully innoccuous, there is a body of evidence you can refer to. Nanook and zeriel haven’t even given us that much - missed votes and very few posts.
Well, we’d probably go after the vanilla roles, for reasons I spelled out earlier. Also, I have a very hard time believing that it’s 8-2. It’s probably 9-1.
Could we please not give the scum a road-map for their claim?
I’m not ruling out lynching any player or role.

I was all for claiming earlier on in the game and if you guys want to then that’s fine. I’m not sure how much weight can be put on any claim made now though and will be more likely to vote on past behaviour regardless of what anyone claims toDay unless it can be backed up somehow.
But if we do go ahead with it can we get started so it doesn’t take up all the Day please?

Just for the record, amrussell, you’re the next guy I look at, after that pointless smudge of me. Yeah, I missed the first few votes–one on a technicality, and the others due to a loss of internet connectivity over the holiday. Since then I’ve been here and out front with my opinions.
What if we do the claim with everyone posting the role-PM from Story. It’s not easy to make a “story-like” PM and I’m sure a lonely scum would find it hard…
For the first time in my mafia-history I’m for a mass claim. At this point I think Town really would benifite and I don’t mind if I go first as on the list from Night 0.
I’m not smudging you. I’m not saying you’re scum. I’m saying you’re a good default lynch (after Nanook) because you’ve given us very little to go on and are basically analysis-proof. Here’s why:
You didn’t finish the Day with a vote till Day 5. That gives you half the vote record of most other players.
On Day 8 you made four posts. One fluff, one saying no-one was jumping out at you, one me-too voting brewha based on Rapier’s vote analysis, one counting scum.
On Day 7 you made four posts. This does, to be fair, include a reasoned vote for special ed. But this stands out as exceptional among your posts.
On Day 6 you made four posts. Two fluff, two saying your vote was staying on MHaye. Which is fine, but doesn’t tell us a whole lot about your view of the game.
On Day 5 you made 10 posts. Pushing/voting MHaye and discussing serial killers.
It’s not an extensive record. All in all you’ve made 40 posts. special ed, who it’s been suggested is equally hard to pin down, has made 106.
It’s not a smudge to say that you’re a low volume poster who’s going to be difficult to analyse. It’s the cold hard truth.
If we get a case against someone, I’ll vote for them. If we’re scratching around without a good case, Nanook goes first, then you. That way when we get down to the last three people, the deciding vote will have a chance to be based on actual material.
Okay, what if 3-4 people claim vanilla, posting the public vanilla PM?
It would help, obviously, but it’s not exactly an auto-win.

If we’re hunting 1 scum among 6 unconfirmed, a mass claim is as good a way as any of focusing our efforts. It makes everyone post and defend themselves. I’m just slightly worried that we end up looking in the wrong place. But if we’re going to do it, we’re going to have to get our skates on. We’ve got 1pm EST on Thursday, right? That’s less than 48 hours. We need agreement, we need a reveal order. If it helps with the latter, I’m going to check the thread again in about 1 hour. Then go to bed and check it again about 8-10 hours after that.
I’m willing to claim, if we can decide on a claim order.
