okay - I’ll wait for Nanook…
If the present trend continues, and considering how long it might take for everyone to post, I think we might not get to brewha
Well, brewha can go first if he wants to.
Welcome to the game; you are a Beta Redshirt
ALIGNMENT: Town
GENERIC: Vanilla
WIN CONDITION: All Deadites have been vanquished.
BACKGROUND:
Every horror movie needs a collection of characters whose only purpose is to die, sometimes horribly, as they help the hero toward his/her goal of standing alone atop a pile of dead demons. Ever since the dying started, you’ve had a sneaking suspicion that you might just be one of those characters… a suspicion that is not at all ameliorated by the fact that, by blind coincidence, you happen to be wearing a nice, cheery red shirt. Your life expectancy is limited, and you have no special powers, abilities, or knowledge relevant to the situation at hand. Still, only the darkest of horror movies end with all the tertiary characters dead: you’ll just have to hope this is Scream and not Alien.
One important note. There are two kinds of redshirts in this world: the Alphas and the Betas. The Alphas are the jocks, the student council presidents, the drunken frat boys, the head cheerleaders, the hard-ass authority figures, and so on. The Betas are the others: the smart kids, the computer geeks, the stoners, the well-meaning but ineffectual parental figures, the creepy loners, and so on.
You are a Beta. You have no idea if this is a distinction with a difference, but it’s something to keep in mind all the same.
POWERS:
You have no special powers or abilities, other than your intellect and persuasive ability. Good luck, and try not to die out there.
I told you it was boring. Ok so I tried to imply I wasn’t vanilla, but that’s because I realize that as a vanilla my job is to die. I was hoping the scum would bite and NK me. Obviously it didn’t work.
Oh and being beta is totally accurate. I’m such a total geek IRL.
I keep forgetting to do this.
Unvote Almost Human.
There, now that that’s done…
Revote brewha.
Does anyone mind if I jump ahead of Total Lost?
I do, just because I don’t know why Story felt it necessary to set her up as “not scum”.
Fine. I’m not sitting up for another hour waiting, so it’ll be c. 8-10 hours before I claim. Night all.

In the absence of anything else going on, I’m going to claim that my role is Bacon. My powers are
Crispy
Delicious
Please do not lynch me for this, and in return I’ll throw myself on any cheeseburgers anyone happens to have.
Are you the last scum and giving up? 'Cause otherwise, I don’t see a reason for this. :dubious:
I think he’s just being silly.
Eat Zeriel .

Fucker.
Would it be wrong to make and eat a bacon cheeseburger at 12:30AM?
If it is, then I don’t wanna be right.
OK, does anybody mind if I jump ahead of Total Lost now ?

Welcome to the game; you are the Virginal Beauty
ALIGNMENT: Town
GENERIC: Paranoid Doctor
WIN CONDITION: All Deadites have been vanquished.
BACKGROUND:
You are the heroine, the first listed female actor, name above the title. You work in Aisle Three at the local S-Mart branch, providing determinedly loyal S-mart service with a smile. You are beautiful, gentle, sensitive, well-spoken, almost certainly a natural blonde, and, most importantly, you are Saving Yourself for Marriage.
Now, you know that there may be those for whom your vow of chastity may cause some frustration. Perhaps a few of your co-workers, friends, professors, clergy, nonimmediate family, or pets might have thoughts of a, you know, sexual nature. But so far, you’ve held firm.
So long as your commitment remains steady, both you and the other partygoers will benefit from the special light that surrounds a Virginal Beauty at all times. But woe betide the Virginal Beauty whose spirit is weak; her special protection against the vagaries of life in a horror movie is forfeit.
POWERS:
So splendid are you that an aura of goodness and decency surrounds you at all times. As long as you remain chaste, you will be immune to any and all Night attempts on your life. Be warned, however: Virginal Beauties who find themselves staring death in the face don’t often remain Virginal for long.
You can’t be an example for your peers unless you share your philosophy. Once per Night, you may select another player and spend the Night explaining to them your deeply held commitment to physical purity. So entranced will they be by your reasoning, or possibly by your cleavage, that they will be unable to take any action by Night. On the other hand, because of the protective aura that surrounds you, no one will be able to kill them , either.
Your power comes from your unique and total purity. Should anything happen to rob you of this purity, you will lose your own innate protection and your ability to protect others. Should you ever fall from grace, when you target another player, you will spend the night in… alternate ways. From then on, you will not protect your target, but only role-block them. As noted, your chastity will be compromised should you ever survive a Night kill. In addition, there are a few specific individuals that are especially appealing to you. Should you target one of these individuals, your purity is unlikely to survive the Night.
I have been with Pede every Night because he didn’t have a power that would hurt Town if it was blocked (except Night 5 where I forgot - really sorry about that).
I did try to breadcrumb - and can find the posts if anyone wants me to.
When Pede was attackted and I saved him I lost the power to protect and now all I can do is to block.
storyteller0910:
Last night you sat up with pedescribe as usual. After ped dozed off, his no-doubt enormous interest in your nightly lectures on the virtues of chastity overcome by his interest in sleep, a shrouded figure shattered the door of the room in which the two of you were settled. The figure pointed a heavy blade at you, poised protectively between this assailant and your charge. Then he stepped away, evidently confused.
Chastity wins again. Yay!
However, you were shaken by these events. They rocked you to your core, causing you to question your worldview. You could die at any moment! Have you wasted your life? As you wandered in the moonlight, alone with these thoughts, you encountered a surprisingly attractive extra.
Long story short: you’re still quite a Beauty. But the rest of your role name no longer applies. You are no longer able to protect anyone, but can still role-block a player of your choice if you need to.
What Night was pede attacked?
OK, that makes sense. My power’s been active the last two Nights. Didn’t seem sensible to advertise the fact our primary doc wasn’t working though so I kept quiet.
Your Power
Your power has been activated. From now on, and beginning toNight, you may choose a target to protect. Your eligible targets include anyone who has voted for you as of the beginning of the relevant Night. So toNight, you may protect anyone who has voted for you up to and including any votes you received on Day Seven. Night Seven votes will not count until Night Eight, and so on.
Night six.
I did block **Amrussell **Night seven - but nothing happened.
I didn’t block anyone Night eight - I didn’t want to risk blocking a doc. I thought since AH hadn’t said anything about comming into power we might have an extra doc.
Maybe we somehow can use me blocking someone as a way to test if a claim is true or not?

It depends on the nature of the claim but I’d say not if people know you’re doing it. If you announce that you’re blocking (say) special ed and that night nothing happens it means that either:
a) you blocked scum or
b) scum did nothing to get us to lynch special ed.
Similarly, if you’re blocking a specific claim, nothing is easier than for lying scum to do nothing (indeed, if they’re lying then they can’t do anything) and then say, “See, you blocked me and nothing happened.”
Probably the best thing is for you to block people without saying who. Scum can’t give up their kill on the off-chance that they’re the one being blocked, so you’ve got a chance of catching them.
As this makes you an investigator, you’re now a good target for NK. If you haven’t already voted AH, you should probably open that option up.
