Mafia Reunion - NIGHT ZERO

Errrr… you are running down a dark hallway, apparently I ran down an alleyway, so I guess I am NOT behind you after all. What’s that I see lurking up ahead, then…?

Signs point to yes

Okay. This night is kind of boring, so it’s story time with Uncle Sachertorte:

The story of the so-called Monkgate:

Long long ago there was a mafia game hosted by Blaster Master that was quite large (like this one!) and had 4 Masons (like this one!). But in the game long ago, they were called Monks.

Early on, Monk storyteller got killed in the night and the monks were all very sad. :frowning:

The game was designed to have lots of kills, but the killing roles got killed and the game moved very slowly.

Monk sachertorte went on a fabulous European vacation in real life and was away for two weeks.

Townies were angry at sachertorte for leaving them (we had a lot of attrition and substitutes in that game)

Scum were super nice to sachertorte because they are lying scum :smack:

Just before Monk sachertorte left, Monk nesta was forced to claim

Monk sachertorte decided not to claim with her and stay secret since Monk Cometothedarksidewehavecookies was also there and still kicking and hidden.

Monk nesta was viciously murdered by scum :frowning:

Monk sachertorte was touring the Mediterranean with Mickey Mouse

Town was not doing so hot and lynched many non-scum :frowning:

Scummy scum Idle Thoughts claims Monk! :dubious:

Monk Cometothedarksidewehavecookies counterclaims

Scummy scum Idle Thoughts has scummy scum I-don’t-remember-who also claim to be the 4th and final monk

Monk Cometothedarksidewehavecookies isn’t able to have Monk sachertorte counterclaim with her since he’s living it up on the Disney Magic. (sorry)

A convenient excuse Scum/Town proclaim.

“Hey I’m back, what’d I miss?” Monk sachertorte returns

Then shit gets real.

Much arguing and stuff.

Mystic-of-some-sort (backup Investigator) MHaye interjects, “I investigated sachertorte, he is Town”

“But he could be recruited, you don’t know that he’s still Town” scum proclaim. :frowning:

More arguing and stuff.

“Uh, bullshit” MHaye proclaims, "I investigated sachertorte and he came back as Monk. Monks are immune to recruitment.

“MHaye must be scum too!” the scum proclaim “sachertorte must be the whatever-the-godfather-was-called-in-that-game and MHaye was recruited” :dubious:

“Seriously?” Monk sachertorte was getting tired of the bullshit.

Discussion of Occam’s razor blah blah blah.

Idle Swings and is found to be scum, huzzah!

Monk sachertorte is super mellow from meditating in the Mediterranean and isn’t dealing well with some of the game conversation and leaves the game (one of my biggest regrets) :o

Other weird stuff happens. It was a pretty weird game.

Endgame Monk Cometothedarksidewehavecookies has to choose who is the final scum, rereads the entire game and nails the last scum.

[At least, that’s how I remember it  ]

It was admittedly before my time, but I think for whatever reason, it is a readily available example, one eight letter word instead of communicating that scum should not claim mason. … And yes now, that you say this, I think indeed that was the exact situation, again, as I’ve been told.

I’ll show my age, or lack thereof. … I see this, and I’m like, Holy Highlights Magazine for Children Batman!

But uh, yeah, Sunny This is why you can, and should, just say “Monkgate” instead of what, three dozen lines of text?

Pretty solid memory. And it absolves current mods of any wrong doing. I like it.

**Yes, each Day will have its own thread. And I’m glad. It was one reason I wanted to host over on Giraffe.

If one of you would design a script to count votes like Giraffe has, it would be the same as there.**

Oh, you’ll fit right in here. Where are you in Oregon? I’m a former Eugenius.

**Got deleted.

Dark Red is my version of “green”. It’s a little reference/throw-back to my modding-mafia days here on the Dope. I always used red instead of Green. No idea why.**

Well, since you did…

Agreed on Toejam and Boozy. Septimus and Nanook seem to fit into that limbo state, and as for me, well, I asked three questions - one because the only reason I could see for Plum’s question was preparation for an eventual fake claim but wanted to hear his words, one because I thought Texcat could be claiming miller but really don’t know if patsy is always feminine or not, and one because there was a $5 bet.

I think the word was smudge, but there could have been another one.
6 is still not “almost everybody”, unless you have very short nights!

Wasn’t Monkgate also the one where Idle used like 5000 point font to shout his innocence to the rooftops for the first time? Or was that a different game?

Neta agree on jsgoddess too, reminds of cheerleading scum.

Zeriel, Monk Zeriel. Not Nesta.

sorry. mind is fuzzy.

The script should pretty much work as is - you’d need someone over here to actually host it – or you could ask giraffe very nicely to allow the script to run against the dope boards in addition to giraffe

Haven’t caught up yet just got pm. Notifications seem to be off for Tapatalk. Gotta feed the kids then play catchup

Oh, I thought you were joking. Patsy is a girl’s name here. Diminutive of Patricia, never of Patrick. That’s why I said she. Of course, a patsy could be male or female, but Patsy just looks like a girl to me.

Thoughts so far:
[ul]
[li]Multi-lynch This is a nutso number of people, and we are going to need to be able to narrow things down at a higher rate than 1 player per Day. We can also potentially hit multiple scum in one Day; I like those odds. Also with this large number of players, we are going to have a diverse number of suspicions. This will be helpful to divide and conquer.[/li][/ul]

[ul]
[li]**No Lynch **The disadvantages of this are basically the opposite of the advantages of multi-lynch. If we are ever at a spot where this is worth entertaining, I think we’ll know it and we can worry about it then.[/li][/ul]

[ul]
[li]**Lynch the Lurker **I think this is a good option in this game, since we’ve got multiple lynches Daily. I’m really liking multiple lynches the more I think about it, y’all. We’ll want to focus on lynching lurkers that will actually provide us with info in their deaths, i.e. they’ve voted or been voted for, when employing this strategy.[/li][/ul]

[ul]
[li]Power Roles They all seem pretty straightforward and not overly complex, nothing wackadoodle. I’m not assuming as such, but I’m leaning toward the idea that 3rd parties are going to be fairly traditional varietals as well. The switches are the only thing kinda throwing me off, but I think I get it in a general sense. Eeny-meeny-miney-moe, but no one player knows whether they’re the eeny or the meeny.[/li][/ul]

[ul]
[li]Powerless Role (aka The Patsy) A D1 claim makes sense here. I have to agree wholeheartedly with whomever said it would be funny if it were **Idle **in this role.[/li][/ul]

[ul]
[li]Night Zero Suspicions I have none yet. I’m a little impressed that anyone does.[/li][/ul]

Albany.

Oh good. My cunning plan worked.

**I’m not sure how to do that, so I did PM giraffe to ask. Anyone know how to make it work on here? How to host it, or whatever?

Even if we do use it, we will still keep track manually and the vote counter is not final word on who dies.**

Here it is, by the way.

I am that girl’s stupid sister. I see her go, then I see the monsters eat her head, and then I say “But she might be ALIVE!” and charge after her.

Which I guess is my way of saying that I think you can live without your brain. Sorry, sis.
