Howdy Y’all! Back from dealin’ with the locksmith and plumber. The plumber called while I was there and said he could come on out right then so I said sure. Who does not dream of spendin’ an afternoon dealin’ with door locks and urinals? Next up, the makeage of tacos. (OLÈ!)
Got the new squirting toilet seat my wife ordered. Now I get to install it. Can’t wait for the first guest to lean over and say “what’s this dohickey for?”
I am still hanging in! So far anyway
Glad to hear the oil issue is fixed.
Didn’t get much done today.
Went to the park, then to PetsMart. I want to get a new harness for Ripple, but I didn’t see anything I liked. I also wanted to get a little stainless bowl for Antlers, but they are a lot cheaper from Amazon.
I paid some bills, ordered some stuff for my mother for Mother’s Day, and ordered a gift for my son’s birthday.
I may order a harness from Amazon, but I’d like to be able to try it on him before buying it.
My son is done with school, except for his finals. He had one big writing assignment due, but he did such a good job on the rough draft that the professor gave him full credit for the assignment and he doesn’t have to turn in a revision. I warned him that since Ripple will be at day care tomorrow, we are going to do a lot in the yard since we can leave the gates open and not have to worry about Ripple running out. Now that he has the patio cleared, he wants to dig up some of the bricks, level the ground, and put them back. He can do that later, I want more of the trees trimmed back and all the branches taken to the dump. With all the rain we’ve had everything is overgrown. He just whacked the front yard a few days ago and it needs it again.
sari, I highly recommend this harness: BEST PET SUPPLIES Voyager Black Trim Mesh Dog Harness, Baby Blue, Small - Chewy.com That’s what I started Nelson with when he was a puppy and when he grew out of his first one, it went to his petite auntie. A small fits a 13# Nelson, but also his 20# brother or a 20# beagle houseguest. Scale it for Ripple from there.
Congrats to the grandson Cookie!
I’m keeping Nelson out of our local dog park for a couple of weeks. He had an accident in his crate again today. I’m thinking there’s a rotovirus going through there. It wasn’t as bad today as last week, but we’ll still take precautions. Besides that, it will give us the opportunity to check out other parks.
Laundered, got my eyes checked, too a nap. Making Baked Fried chicken for dinner.
I like that harness, and the price is right.
I was looking for one that Ripple doesn’t have to step into. The other thing I don’t like with the current harness is that it turns sideways on him, and it’s a pain to keep adjusting the straps. Also, because of the way he’s built, the harness has to go on the right way, if I am facing him, the side with his tags needs to be in my right hand. The day care never gets it on right, either they put it on the wrong way and it is really tight, or they don’t get his legs through the holes properly. I think because some of them are still a little afraid of him and don’t want to bend down near his face. I’ve heard though, that the ones they don’t have to step into can come off if they pull backwards. Ripple has a thick neck, so a collar won’t work on him.
I know I could get him a harness at the daycare, if I don’t mind over paying for it. I was really disappointed with the selection at PetsMart.
Tacos (OLÈ!) got made and consumed. Then some binge watchin’ of Nurse Jackie. After spendin’ a day with laundry, sprinkler systems, door locks, and a leaky urinal, I am one tahrd bear!
sari, it’s a good harness for a thick chested dog. I pick Nelson up to harness him, but Copper the beagle and his brother Winston just gladly stepped into it, no problem, I velcroed the top and snapped the buckle. The buckle has two D rings that you can snap his leash into together. Nelson wears his tags on his collar, but you could put tags on one of the rings.
Just cut a heliconia flower from the yard.
Fairly busy day. Dropped off a letter to my Edward D. Jones office and found my agent has taken a new job. They should have somebody on duty by next week and I have a month to make a decision, but it is a botherment. Also picked up dry cleaning from last week (still in car) and got my 2020 tag for the license plate ($172.50, most of it tax). And then coached soccer. So been pretty busy. Mac-n-Cheese has been consumed and internettin’ is underway.
Nut, what with college and all, I took you to be an young’n; mid-30’s is almost a grown-up.
Sari, glad for Sah-son on his classes and hope Ripple likes the new harness.
Cookie, those one of those Bidet seats? Used one in China and been thinking about getting one for the house here; let me know how you like it.
LA John, sounds like the camera place values it’s customers.
FCM, some folks wear reflectors, other’s are just trying for a Darwin Award.
Everybody else, have a good evening and we’ll see you on Hump Day, when I have my dental appointment…
Bedtime!! I is tahred!!
I on the other hand, had a Class III (the highest) reflective vest, a headlamp, two light-up, blinking armbands, a BaS (bright as #!+ - 2+ miles visibility, up to 930 lumens) multi-LED light & still got sideswiped by the @#%^&* bus. Goddamned RICO organization - of course the video wasn’t working properly on that bus that night  so the sonuvabitch literally got away with the crime.
Didja knock first, or just barge into his office?
Rusting Rat They are a good sto’. Highly recommend them for your photo, video, &/or audio needs; also drone, PC, home security, & some other electronics that I’m not thinkin’ of.
Bumped into an old teammate on the trail tonight; ended up catching up over a beer when I got back.
What the 'eck happened, I had room to go before the top of the page & now I’m not even near it.
Cleaning out the camera; almost deleted 100+ pics that were not backed up yet. :smack: Some really good ones in there, too. Time to call it quits & go to bed before I do any more damage.
That doesn’t happen with film.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 68 Amurrkin out and clear (dark) with a predicted high of 91 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. Today I shall lay in provisions, sloth for a while, make sup (shrimpies ‘n grits), and go over to the church house for mid-week Eucharist and to haul the biiiiiiiiiiiiiig trash cans down to where they go for pickup tomorrow. Sloth time will likely include some quality cee-mint pond time. I have the last of this cycle of church leadership thingy this weekend. For some reason I had thought it was next weekend, but ‘tis indeed this Firday and Sattidy. So, off to Honey Creek we shall go Firday mornin’. Round two will crank up in December. I suppose this means I should catch up on my readin’ for this weekend. Bother.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas, alack and bother of bothers, I must purtify and don appropriate bein’ about the public attire and go to the Pubic Sto’.
Happy Hump Day Y’all!
It’s a holiday in France. Between May 1st (holiday in a ton of countries), May 2 (holiday in Madrid, which somehow manages to affect all of Spain if only because there’s less political news than other days), Armistice… this month is going to be very confusing for me in terms of “which day is it? Is my phone correct? Are we sure it is this day?”
The sun has been abed all morning but finally came out, yay.
I remembered my almonds today, so I can start with a small victory.
Other than that, just another day in paradise. Happy Wednesday!!
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Clsoing shift today.
unless you open your camera, and expose the film to light.:smack:
Happy Hump Day!
It’s a chilly 61 degrees outside, cloudy with a high of 70 predicted.
Not bad weather to do yard irk.
I slept horribly again last night. First my bladder woke me. There was no breeze and it was hot. Then Ripple jumped up at the window and was growling at something. My bedroom is on the second floor, I don’t know what he saw out there, but he sure didn’t like it. I looked to make sure nobody was on the porch roof trying to break in, although I suppose it would be a stupid person who would use a ladder in the front of the house. Then again, people who break into houses are often stupid.
I’ve already loaded up a few branches in the truck, and I realize I need a bigger truck.
I may have to make several trips to the dump, and I think they charge $10 to drop off yard waste.
