May Flowers in the MMP

Slow down, Grasshopper. Compose the picture, and compose yourself. See the picture before you press the shutter.

Worked, came home. Hoping the Avs can beat the Sharks.

18 muzzle loading cannon indicates that you have a Napoleon complex.

Street photography - Manhattan. However, digital gives me the opportunity to tweak my setting & take another shot, or from a different angle. I can do 1000ish photos (JPEG & RAW) from internal memory; no need for a pocket full of canisters that need to be periodically swapped out.

Napoleon hadn’t yet reached great heights (Hee!) when these were used; he was still a little one (Hee[sup]2[/sup]!) being single digit years old.

Speaking of which, do you know why the Frenchman dynamited his kitchen floor?

He wanted to see linoleum blown apart!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis <snerk>69! <snerk> Amurrkin out and dark with a predicted high of 90 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. I shall do some mowage over to the church house this mornin’ since I can’t be there Sattidy. Ima mow a big part of the front forty. There may or may not be rain on Sattidy so anything done beforehand is good. A couple others will mow some tomorrow. Sup shall be beastloaf, steamed cabbage, mac ‘n cheese, and cornbread. I shall also catch up on readin’ for DLDI and pack. It may or may not be rainy where I’m headed tomorrow. TWPTB are all willy-nilly.

CupCakes ick! Like MetalMouse said, the worst part is the prep. You really won’t know the procedure is bein’ done as you will be nice and sedated. On the bright side, if this colonoscopy is good, the next one will likely be the do it yourself kind.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then, I must make myself a bit presentable and go mow. Rah.

Happy Thursday Y’all!

Well, it’s already starting as one of those days. I woke way before my alarm - guess my body thinks it only needs 6-ish hours of sleep? Then when I was packing my lunch, I discovered that I didn’t have any more cucumber - dammit. And when I got to work, I found I’d forgotten my phone and my money. I did have $5 in my wallet and a couple of quarters, so I could get my morning soda, but there isn’t enough change in the snack bin to break the five. Dammit. I’ll talk to Becky when she gets in - she’s the keeper of the snack money.

It’s drizzly. But it’s my Firday, so there’s that.

Happy Thursday. I guess.

Morning all.

Been looking forward to today for a bit- what am I doing today, you ask? Nothing  First day in what seems like ages where I can just slob aimlessly without thinking I should be working on some assignment or other.

That said, I’m doing some washing, then I think I’ll go out for a bit- I’m getting a bit behind with the allotment, and I think visiting a garden centre for some vegetable plants is a good plan, as I didn’t get round to sowing some things on time. Doing fun stuff like pottering round garden centres doesn’t count as a thing.

Ps, most students here are substantially ickler than me too, though my course does skew older than average. This year I’m not the oldest, but asking round who’s coming back for the top-up course, next year I think I will be, by quite a bit. I make up for it by being in the beekeeping club, when I’m at least 20 years younger than the average, and everyone acts like I’m 12

Happy Thorsday!

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work. Going to the Pub after work to watch hockey.

Happy Thorsday.

It’s a cloudy 61 degrees, supposed to get up to 73 and rain later today.

I have some cute little white flowers out back. Don’t know what they are, maybe Star of Bethlehem, except they have yellow centers and my flowers have white centers.

Not much going on on the agenda today.
I need to get a dehumidifier and I can’t decide which one to get.
Indecision gets in the way of life.

No, **sari **- indecision is the key to flexibility!

Here’s hoping I have enough work to get me thru the day. I can probably drag it out - I’m a professional, after all. :stuck_out_tongue:

Morning all. Brother’s 65th birthday is today so I owe him a call. Stormy weather is in Mississippi and moving this way, so soccer practice is in peril. We shall see.

FCM, know how you feel, got to the Dentist’s office yesterday, hurrying since they asked me to come in early, and realized I had forgotten my wallet. Fortunately didn’t have a copay and wasn’t stopped for a traffic violation, so I survived.

All y’all have a good Thorsday.

**MetalMouse **- what a coincidence - my sister’s 64th b-day is today! So we each have a sib a year younger who share a b-day.

My youngest sis (who some of you stalk of FB) had her b-day on Moanday, and tomorrow, she and Mom leave from Baltimore for Amsterdam, via Dallas, of all places! They’re going to cruise around the British Isles, plus Norway, France, and Denmark for the next couple of weeks. I’d love to plan another cruise, but **FCD **is going to be pretty busy for the foreseeable future. Oh well.

Got two different companies supposed to call me today for long term contracts. No calls yet. Not terribly surprised since both callers are “super busy” but I’m nirvius anyweys.

(… I typoed super busty. Thought y’all would get a laugh)

Looking at my work so far I’m not so sure of mine anymore. :frowning:

Stop that!

I was awake for my first one and got to watch it on the monitor. The bad part was that the tube they used back in those days was bigger around and cut square across the end. Bigger camera I suppose.

Pics or it didn’t happen.

Making more sawdust today. Dinner tonight will be beastloaf (good use for the sawdust) and leftover steamed cauliflower.

Y’all have a great Thorsday now y’hear?

Well, the tunder-boomers showed up about an hour ago and they’ve already cancelled soccer practice, so I’m on my own today. Probably works out, I got my lawn aerated yesterday, so the rainwater has somewhere to go now…

FCM, I’m thinking about a Central Europe River Cruise in 2020, just a thought…

Nava, hope you get a good (and who knows, maybe busty) call soon…

All y’all stay dry now.

This nose zit is even more painful today. If this does not resolve on its own I will be off to the Dr. tomorrow and let him deal with it. Such a bother.

I paid bills and my boss paid a visit. That was at least three hours of him running his mouth. I don’t see him often and now I am glad. Such a talker.

I finally had lunch around 2:30. We are off tonight on a sunset dinner cruise with the company. I do not want to go. Hubby doesn’t want to go either but go we will.

Blurf

My terlit is kicking my ass. My wife ordered a new “bidet toilet lid” from Kohler. Has a little squirtie nozzle thingy that cleans out the nether parts. This means that installation requires putting in a tee fitting for the water connection. Simple, right?

A total PITA, mainly because the plastic threads on the old flushing mechanism are screwed up and I can’t screw the new fitting on there without it being cross-threaded. Off to Ace to by a new flushing mechanism. This, after rolling around on the bathroom floor for an hour trying to get this fucking thing together. And ya know what? No amount of cursing of even the foulest sort will make something go together that just doesn’t feel like it.

So I went for a walk to cool down, got the part, came back and had some lunch, and now am ready to go back in and tackle this no good motherfucking twat of a toilet seat. If you don’t hear from me again, it’s because I’ve slit my wrists.

So, you say you’re not fond of doing plumbing chores??

Roxy and I stopped for groceries on the way home. We’re having rotissed chickie for supper. And my weekend has begun.

**MetalMouse **- I’ve looked into the river cruises, but they’re a bit pricier than I’m willing to spend. I like the idea, but I’m not too crazy about the bottom line. Maybe if I hit the lotto.

Plumbing is the worst. I’m getting too old to be crawling under cabinets and crabbing around on wet floors. Anyway, I finally got the bloody thing installed, so now we can be delightfully moist, if we wish.

I like the idea too, but they are pricey. The part that I think is better is that there’s always something out the window to look at besides water. We have a friend that’s a travel agent, so we may get to go on one yet. It’s up to Wifey.

That sounds more fun than it actually is. :stuck_out_tongue:

I have a couple of Johnsonville Sweet Italian Sausages that I will cut open and mix into my hamberder to make beastloaf. That should make it more interesting.

It’s 82F here. I may have to get the window air conditioners out and in the windows soon. :dubious:

I’m ready for the weekend already. I’ve been spending half my irk days for the past couple of weeks learning to cover duties that I hadn’t formerly been trained to do whilst two of my cow-orkers are out. One is beginning a cruise and her flight leaves at 2 pm tomorrow and the other had scheduled a four day weekend for his birthday. Our last manager had approved both without taking into consideration that they were each other’s backup. I can now do the basic functions that I hadn’t been previously cross trained on, but am a bit nervous about trouble shooting if something goes kerflooie.

On the home front, I got a somewhat last minute invitation to a birthday party that sounds like a lot of fun tomorrow evening. No one thought to put one together until early this week. I swung by the Pubic Sto’ for a dozen aigs after irk. They’re boiled now and chilling, so I’ll devil them later. I may do what Mooooooom does and tae the filling seperately. Or not, since I’ll be taking Nelson, a lawn chair, an autoharp and a pennywhistle (we’re jamming around a bonfire), so the less I have to put together when I get there, the better.
