I pulled the drain handle loose on the hall bath sink. In order to fix it, I’ll have to empty the cabinet and contort myself down there. **FCD **has had too many back surgeries to be crawling under a sink. It’ll get fixed eventually…
Tomorrow, we’ll fix the fence that had to be taken down to move the shed. After that, we’ll probably pull more wires. Good times!
Sunset and much ingestage of rum punch was had. I didn’t eat cause I had such a late lunch but we are home now, finally, and my duties to visitors are done I hope. But wait! There is still tomorrow. I am tahred. My usual 10 1/2 day was a 14 and a half hour day. Grandma Butters doesn’t like to do fun shit anymore. Poor **HRH Lucky Louie ** thought he had been abandoned. Poor little fellow.
I don’t remember if I mentioned our cat had a very swollen face\jaw the other morning so off to the Vet. Vet lanced the area after anesthesia and shaving her. A whole heap of pus came out and thus I have been having to pill her twice a day for seven days. We think she was in a catfight. I was dreading getting the pills in her and really thought it would be impossible but using a pilling device and grabbing the scruff of her neck she is easier to pill than Louie. One thing went right this week. She is much better. Always something around this house.
Short day tomorrow as I have to irk a half day on Sat. I wouldn’t go at all but it is payroll day and my folks like to get paid. Our company leaves early Sat morning so one more full day. I dare anyone else to visit for a while. My leave was approved so I shall be a slacker starting next Wed for a whole week. What in the world will I do with myself?
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN ‘Tis <snerk> 69! <snerk> Amurrkin out and rainy with a predicted high of 88 and possible rain/tstorms/apocalypse this afternoon. Where I am headed this mornin’ will have a high of 86 and mostly N.O.S. A rainy weekend is predicted on the home front however. We shall see. I really don’t want to go, but go I shall because obligated I am. Life is so hard.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas, alack, and bother, I must purtify, don appropriate bein’ about the public and amongst a bunch of Whiskypalians attire. Plus, I get to finish packin’. Rah.
I shan’t be postin’ tomorrow. Do try to leave the place in one piece.
aww, no swampy…that’s ok its 2:30 am and remember that rain forecast for this week I disdained ? well ill probably be taking uber in the rain with aunt because the clouds rolled in and it’s sprinkly outside … supposed ot rain until Tuesday
I’m off to bed in a few … probably be on tomorrow after my wild ride …
Today, we’re going to repair the fence post that had to be cut to let the shed into the yard. When **FCD **wakes, we’ll go get breakfast, then buy the assorted stuff we need. Hope we get it done before the rain moves in.
After that’s done, we’ll figure out the day as we go along.
It’s a cloudy 66 degrees outside, supposed to get up to 81 with a 50% chance of rain.
I can tell already that it is going to be a grumpy day.
My city is stupid. I can’t get a permit for the dump because the permits expire on July 1st. To take a load of yard waste to the dump is a minimum of $10, a permit is $15. I would rather pay $15 for a permit that expires in 7 weeks than pay $10/load. The nice man at the permit station acted as though he was doing me a favor by not selling me the permit. The woman at the weigh station looked apologetic for charging me $10.
And since there is nobody at the dumping site (separate road from both the permit station and the weigh station), what is to stop me (besides my honesty) from just driving straight up there and not paying at all?
Where is Swampy off to? I am at irk but just for a bit as I have made the decision to cook up a feast for our guests. I have to go grocery shopping first though.
**Butters **- **swampy **has some church stuff going this weekend - or so he says. For all we know, when he says church, he’s actually working in a sleezy strip club.
We ran some errands this morning, then I went to the credit union to straighten out something in our business account that, it turns out, didn’t need to be straightened, so yay! When I came home, I helped **FCD **fix the fence that was cut down for the shed move - we are now fully fenced again. Roxy and I have been lunched, and she’s down for her nap.
I think I’ll be helping **FCD **run air lines this afternoon. We shall see.
I decided we will just have our usual steak night so I stopped at the good meat place and got everything except I only bought 4 steaks and there are five of us
I decided we will just have our usual steak night so I stopped at the good meat place and got everything except I only bought 4 steaks and there are five of us :smack::smack::smack::smack: so hubby will go back and get the fifth one. I did actually get five but one is very tiny for the dog. Since steak and baked potatoes are the main things I can get a short nap prior to starting to cook.
Dear god, the pain. Doing that toilet repair has made me feel like I went 48 minutes in an NBA game. Found lots of muscles that apparently haven’t been used in about 10 years. Still able to take a (slow) walk around the 'hood on this beautiful, sunny PNW day. Gonna get to the high 80s the next couple of days. Unseasonably warm weather and the fire danger has now jumped to critical.
Got another project waiting for me in the garage, putting together a metal storage cabinet. Got it unboxed after my walk, but it’s going to have to wait to get built until I’m moving better.
Nap was mostly unsuccessful due to what I call nap-jerks where one is almost asleep and has a body earthquake. I know y’all have had them. Then when I dozed again my arm went to sleep so I just gave up. Company will over soonest to do some laundry. I have the oven preheating and the taters are ready to go around 1630. I want to eat by 1800 and have these folks gone soon after depending on the amount of laundry they have. Either way I have to irk in the morning and they know I am mostly antisocial so I will retire even if they are still here.
Hubby’s sawzalled hand is so infected he got an antibiotic shot as well as two different antibiotic pills. I am still dealing with the nose zit. I am going on record here it hurts bad. ThanksRed for the suggestion of topical numbing agent. We had some on hand and it helped. Maybe by tomorrow it will be less bothersome. I attempted twice to poke it with a needle with no success. Why me???
Some people brought their new (large boxer mix) dog (rescued from the shelter) to the park and the dog is not so nice. The man was keeping it on a leash, which is not allowed, but just as well that he did. Ripple went over to say hi and the dog jumped on him. After that Ripple gave him plenty of space. After a bit the woman took him off leash, and the dog did okay until a new dog went onto the small dog side. Then he (the dog) charged the fence, and I’m glad for the small dog’s sake there is a fence. Then somebody new came to the big dog side and the boxer mix charged the gate and wouldn’t let them in. The park has a double gate where you come in one gate to a large pen where you are supposed to take off the leash, and then open the other gate to let the dog into the park. The new guy finally opened the gate and the boxer mix attacked his dog. That is when the couple finally leashed up their dogs and left.
I was happy to see them go.
I am also very happy that Ripple is not aggressive. He’s suppose to be, but he just walks away from the nasty dogs.
He does play rough though, so I always keep an eye on him.
I finally ordered a dehumidifier, one that is too big for the space. This one also has an internal pump and a hose to pump the water. It weighs 40 pounds, so I hope my son won’t have too much trouble carrying it to the basement.
I finally ordered Ripple a harness, not the one you suggested Red, because that model didn’t go up to his size.
My mother got her Mother’s Day gift, but I think she doesn’t like it. I got her a dried fruit and nut tray, and some jams and jellies. Lemon curd, orange marmalade, apricot, and damson jelly. I always try to get her something edible because the last thing she needs it more stuff to clutter up the house. I also try to get her something the boys won’t pig out on, so she has a chance to eat some of it herself.
So much drama going on at her house, and I just don’t even want to hear about it.
An ex-friend keeps texting me asking for advice about her new job. She is afraid she will have issues with her new co-workers. I don’t say it, but of course she is going to have issues with her new co-workers because she has issues, which is why she is an ex-friend. I couldn’t deal with her issues anymore. I tell her this is a new start and I am sure her new co-workers will like her fine, get her in a positive frame of mind, even though I suspect she will alienate everybody within the first month she is there. She is the kind of person that if you say to her, you look nice today, she will take it that you are saying she is ugly all the other days. I can be friends with a lot of people, but not somebody that I have to weigh every f’ing thing I say to avoid offending her. That is too much work.
My mother’s been experiencing regular dizziness the past week or so. A few days ago, we got an appointment set up for her for Friday. We passed on going to choir practice on Thursday.
Thursday night/Friday morning, at 12:30, she got up to use the bathroom, kinda gliding around, using the furniture to help her keep her balance. When she was not ten feet away from the toilet in our trailer, I heard a loud crash and exclaimed, “MOM!”
She’d blacked out and fallen, ending up with some bruises. It took us awhile to figure out how to get her up. She’s a bit overweight, and I’m pretty weak, so me picking her up wasn’t gonna happen. Ultimately I got a folding chair; she was able to get into that, and from there to a standing position. Fortunately, she was able to hold it until she made it to the bathroom. For some reason, it never occurred to either one of us to call 9-1-1. (Kinda glad we didn’t, really. Money.)
Yesterday at the doctor, she was referred to a cardiologist.
made it back from the store shopping with my aunt can be annoying if shes in a mood …
It decided to drizzle all day and the nephew is here for the weekend basically …had tummy problems …
but other than that not much going on til moms day …
I actually slept in till nearly 6!! And the peasants rejoiced!!!
We’ll be working in the shop all day today - doing the wiring and the air lines. I’ll do laundry tomorrow, so if you notice a disturbance in the Force, that’ll be it.
