Mist and Murk in the MMP!

Overly, that’s great news about your mom not needing chemo, AND that she’s able to take care of her feedings, herself!

As for things around here, they’re ok. I had to explain to my doctor why my A1c was through the roof, though. I had my 3 month doctor appt., today. Oh, joy. I’m glad it’s over. Really, though…I need to pay more attention to my BG. I’ve been so lazy about it all. I know better, too. Jeez.

I heard from sari - she’s fine. Just taking a break for reasons. Since my mind always goes to the worst-case scenario, I envisioned her trapped under her overturned truck. Yeah, I know…

Meanwhile, supper was pretty good. I think I’ll have wine again tonight since it helped me sleep so well… even if it’s not all that tasty.

Chug! Chug! Chug! Chug!

(I’m sitting here stitching cross-stitch with a cat. It amuses me to pretend I’m some virile 20-year-old frat boy.)

Wouldn’t it be easier to use a needle instead of a cat??

Dishes done. Wine slurped down. I can feel the effects already, so I anticipate good sleep. It’s raining, but tomorrow is supposed to be dry. We shall see.

Well, the Coast Starlight runs from Seattle to LA. I rode the Starlight from Eugene to Frisco about 40 years ago and it sucked, and I loved it anyway. I hear it’s much better these days.
Anyway, if you drive or ride the train you’ll travel within 20 miles of me, so if you’re willing, we could meet up somewhere. I promise I’m not an ax murderer. (I broke my ax.)

Mom, I’m sure if you looked around you’d find a wine you like. Or maybe try some ciders. Or get some ‘product’ from Shoe, whom I’m pretty sure isn’t a frat boy.

Well, cats do have all those pointy bits that feel like needles … :cat::tiger::leopard:

The rent was right. I miss Belltown, but at least I have free parking (or no bus ride). Last year we bought a building in Burien, so we’ll be moving there. It might be time to start telecommuting full-time.

shoe, you just answered my question about medical MJ in states where recreational is legal. Tennessee is considering making medical legal and I would qualify. I’ve partaken of it and it is quite a bit stronger.

swampy, I used to stew squirrel in gravy. Since it’s pretty tough, it works better with a stewing application. And for your entertainment (watch til the end for laffs):
McDonald’s Deformed Farm

dicey, my grandmother used to make springerle. I haven’t had any for years.

I’m glad your mom escaped having to go through chemo wordy.

Mooooooom, have you tried Gewürztraminer? It reminds me of reisling, but with an appley note. It’s not dry, more medium to sweet.
Gewürztraminer

Irked, got my award parking placard, swung by Aldi on the way home, then the Arby’s drive through. I was beginning to feel a lack of energy, so I figured that the BG was down a little. No, when I tested before supper, it was 42. :open_mouth: Thank goodness I got a cookie with my meal. :stuck_out_tongue: It’s back up to 85 now.

Today was another day of tech hell. IT finally contacted me at lunch time. They did a remote thing, then told me that they would have to kick the issue upstairs to do a reinstall. I finally just changed out the keyboard (an offense that would have been fireable a few years ago, as it was considered an IT only job) on the other computer that I was using and made sure all of my files needed today were backed up. Monday, I’ll back everything else on the hard drive up.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

Yeah, I walked right into that one. I claim pureness of intent. Thank you J. K. Rowling, you’ve poisoned that for the rest of us.

I meant modifying some of the behaviors of teenagers, not the little darlings themselves.

metal mouse if you end up coming back on the California Zephyr out of San Fran instead of the Southwest Builder out of LA, let me know. I’m just a short stroll from the Lincoln Nebraska station and I’d love to hand you a good picnic meal and a couple of our local ciders as you pass through. A quick Mumper hug could also be arranged. The Zephyr would take you through the Rockies and the Sierra Madres. Just putting in my bid early. The trip sounds wonderful and one just like it is on my bucket list. Amtrak does some great discounts and deals if you sign up on their website.

: heaves bags of small packages onto belt :
: heaves sorted bags back to other side of belt :
: heaves bags back into truck, since there’s not enough enough room in hub :
Supervisor: “Whoops, wrong truck, you need to have the bags into this other truck”
: heaves supervisor into machinery :
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off for a fun Friday night of heaving.

Yay for no chemo, Wordy!

Ripple would have texted us if that happened.

swampy is a lot of things, but you’re right, none of them is monastic ascetic. Monkhood would be wasted on him and I’m pretty sure his sweetie would have an opinion.

:joy::rofl::joy::rofl::joy::rofl::joy:

Just to be clear, I’m not an axe murderer either. When Son # 2 moved away he took all the good tools with him. Now I have to do everything with my bare hands…and then wipe my hands on my jeans.

So we are back to the frat boys, are we…

Guilty!

Hades Annex is about the most miserly call center I’ve worked in. Our QA agent makes the same pay as any rookie fresh from training.

TVCTPMO has a postal division. Ordered new kitchen toy, projected delivery 12/7 (Moanday). USPS took it on themselves to drastically alter this to today. Package tracking reported delivery. No package to be found, and we’re tucked back in a niche that would make it hard for package pirates to even find our door (grocery delivery and Amazon have enough trouble with that). Contacted MegaMart I ordered from, problem now solved with the original purchase refunded and a new order submitted to be picked up at a B&M store near me. I do wish they’d offered me the option of having the original item shipped to a store to be held for pickup, instead of insisting on sending it to my home address. This is problematic when both of us irk full-time. The Princess and the birdbrain are lovable, but not good at accepting deliveries.

On a good news front, DH’s ortho appointment today yielded good news about the bones in his leg finally deciding to heal, dammit! Pending approval from the occupational medicine doctor next week, he takes the next rehab step, into something called “work hardening”, to get him strengthened and toughened enough to resume playing with wiring, which could be within the next couple of months.

Miniature Emperor leftovers from last night are projected dinner tonight, consumed on the “forage when you feel like it” plan. I do also need to add a feline manicure (pedicure?) to the to-do list for the weekend. Tomorrow is errand day, with some cleaning. Sunday will probably be more cleaning. Yay.

If doing all four paws I guess that would be a manicure and a pedicure.

Just the front. Her hind claws never really seem to need human intervention.

Hey mouse! The Southwest Chief goes right by my area. If you take that one I’ll meet you in San Bernardino or Riverside and hand off goodies for the trip back to Chicago. Just let me know!

Axes are messy.

mouse~we’re fighting over you! If you pick me I get you a corsage and still respect you in the morning.
