Some time back I was ‘spoken to’ at work for comments I made on Facebook regarding a stupid cow-worker and the fact she took an Excel workbook I sent to several people asking them to update and mark their changes. It came back to me completely reformatted.
RUDE
I did not mention names, however at the time, my company’s name was on my profile. (no longer), someone who was friends with the idiot pointed it out to her, she must have assumed she was the idiot (she was), called HR and I had my “talk” with the boss.
I only bring this up to say, for the past 14 months this banshee has been seated in the adjacent cubicle to mine. She’s loud, holds phone conversations at max volume, walks into the office behind us cackling at her own jokes and generally raises the decibel level by 73 million.
Thank Ja for sound cancelling ear buds.
Oh, my rant about reformatting other people’s spreadsheets? Yeah, we’re the IT department, where you’d think there was some modicum of professionalism there.
Ok, I’m done. Thank you for allowing me to vent in probably the only not-so-public forum where not a stinking soul at work knows I’m here…
Blurf I am irking. Where else would I be. I need to escort a new vendor through the gate at 1000. It is a Shark tour vendor. I shall get a contract and try to sell it.
I am proud to report that my mental is relatively healthy and the layin’ in of provisions has been accomplished. ‘Tis already hawt out so glad to be in the a/c cave. I may or may not go to the cee-mint pond. I bought some summer squishes and zucchini at the sto’. They are now sliced up and shall be roasted to be supped upon. YUM!
I think.
T hese 100+ hour irk weeks are wearing me down.
Not that it’s hard irk, just not enough sleep.
NOt so hot out today, I’m thinking of turning off the AC and opening the windows.
I’m hoping to get out and get some more yard irk done today since it’s supposed to rain for the next four days.
It may start raininng before I get out there today.
Hump Day. I seem to be over my jet lag which is a good thing. The heat broke yesterday and today it is low 70s and cloudy. I slept without a/c last night. Huzzah. Note to people: never put anything on social media regarding your irkplace. You WILL be caught.
Lawn mowed (almost passed out when I came inside, due to rushing to finish it and the heat/humidity, but a liter of Gatorade came to my rescue), cash obtained, and putting things for the trip on my bed as I think of them (camera is next). Still have to call the taxi service to pick me up tomorrow morning.
Hang in there, Sari. Just remember to “Think of England” and the paycheck…
swampy, my refrigerator is about cleaned out; on the frozen side is some fettuccini alfredo and cheesy garlic bread (guess I know what I’ll be eating when I get back) and I’ll finish off the last of the perishables about an hour from now. So shopping will be high on my list come 9 Fake Rubies (9 Jewel-Lie).
Cat Dude, was that a rant disguised as an MMP post, or an MMP post that you were ranting on about? Makes no matter, just curious. We all have (or had) cow-orkers that we had to bear; sorry that yours is right next door.
Juliet, hope the car dealership doesn’t see the patch and use ti to try and negotiate you downward.
Rainy day but we managed to get a little yard irk done.
I got to talk to my neighbor a bit. Now that school is out she is home and sitting out.
I made hamburgers for the kid. I have leftover deconstructed cabbage rolls.
I don’t know why I have been craving ice cream, I don’t really like it. However, I got a flyer saying that Bruster’s is opening up here on Friday. I do like their ice cream. It’s something to think about. Do I want ice cream badly enough to go out to get it? I also have a $25 gift card to Stone Cold Creamery and there is one of those around here too. I’ve only had that card for something like 5 years but it says it never expires. I have two other gift cards that have been sitting around for a few years, one to Red Lobster and the other one can be used at Red Lobster or a few other places, I think Olive Garden is one.
I suppose I should get around to using them or give them away to somebody who will use them.
If I don’t see you before you leave, have a nice, fun, and safe trip MetalMouse!
We have supped. 'Tis unogly hawt out! 97 Amurrkin with a heat index of 104. I had some cee-mint pond time early this afternoon. Just feels like we oughta get a tboomer, but don’t think we will.
Sunny we have two MMPs because I am an idjit and did not see Spidey’s before I posted mine. :smack: Thus far they have not been merged.
doggio, Kroger is the one store that I missed when I lived in an area without one. Around here, most of the Food Lions have closed and Asian or Latino markets taken their place. Albertson’s and Harris-Teeter have left the building to meet most of the Piggly Wigglys and BiLos. In my town, there is a Kroger, two Publix, a Food Lion (yes, one of the few remaining), FoodTown, three Latino supermarkets, an Asian supermarkets and a whole bunch of bodegas and small Asian markets, Tar-jay and Wally World. I don’t think I’ll starve.
We were fed pizza at irk today as a result of 100% participation of an employee survey. Of course, we had an HR session to go with it, but hey, they actually got the meal from one of the better pizza joints here.
Unfortunately, in my mother’s case, what keeping her comfortable meant was keeping her so doped up on morphine that she didn’t know where she was or who was with her. Still, the people there were really great.
Surprising that Kroger would completely abandon an area. Around here they are the cheapest of the three grocers*, although Thriftway has better, but more expensive, meat and veg.
I think I told you that Wifey had an attack of afib recently. Well she talked to her Doc and she wanted her to take Xarelto. (A blood thinner). Today I called Costco and asked for a price. $481.92 for 30 tabs!:mad:
She may have to go on Warfarin. It’s a nuisance, but affordable. sigh
It’s so nice living in a civilized country. :dubious:
