Moanday Means A New MMP

Going car shopping tonight!

Our original plan was to get my hubby a newer Subaru to replace his 99 Forrester, but we’re not finding decent ones in our price range; either their meh cars that are cheap (but better than his bucket) or barely used, still rather expensive cars. And he insists on a Subaru. But we need a more reliable family car; my car isn’t in great shape, either, and I have family that lives hours away and we need a better, more reliable car, for the family. So we may end up getting him an older Tribeca (2006), which is still a vast upgrade from his bucket, but is KBB valued at around $4500, and getting me a 2013 Chevy Equinox to be the family car. We are able to get both of those cars within our budget. So we’re kicking the can down the road a few years on getting him a new car with the plan that when we replace his Tribeca, he’ll get a new Subaru.

blurf Today is payroll day nd I cant get into the system. No one can get in so it’s not just me. I guess I will keep trying.

Happy Firday all.

**Juliet **- I don’t envy your car-shopping adventure. I hate having to buy a new vehicle. Mostly because of cheezy salesmen. There was the one I asked about safety and maintenance, and he answered me with comments about colors and vanity mirrors… Then there was the guy who tried to tell me how to drive a stick during a test drive. I’m pretty sure I’d been driving a stick longer than he’d been alive.

Altho when I bought my Scion in '06 and our Sonata in '12, we had professional sales guys who didn’t treat me like an airhead who only cared about cupholders and seat covers. Still, I dread the day we have to replace the Sonata. It’s creeping up on 150K miles, and I’m hoping to get it to 250K at least. Spousal unit thinks I’m crazy but if our abused Aerostar made it nearly that far, I’m sure this one will easily.

Still rainy hereabouts. We need a few dry days so we can mow - not sure it’ll happen this weekend. Oh well…

Phew! Remembered to write down the radio presets before the battery gets disconnected/replaced.

Happy Firday!

It’s cool and rainy outside. I turned off the AC and opened the windows as it was cooler outside than inside.
Ripple is happy to have his window open again, the better to snoop on the neighbors. He is the nosiest dog.

Nothing special on the agenda for today, just irk and house irk.

I got less than 5 hours sleep last night so first thing to do is take a nap.
Especially while Ripple is taking one.

Moooommmm, the funny thing is, I’m the one who is concerned about safety, gas mileage, service records… if the salesman starts talking that stuff to Romeo thinking I’m too woman to handle it, he’s in for a rude awakening. Plus, I have OCD, so I’m going to notice every little ding, scratch, scuff, stain, etc. Romeo wouldn’t notice if the mirror was hanging off. (Okay, he might notice that.) I’m the one negotiating price 'cause I can be a dig my heels in bitch if I need to be. Ain’t nothing getting past me.

So yeah, it would be nice to come home with a better car tonight. But not if it’s not worth it.

It’s pouring buckets with flood warnings. Ick. At least it’s Firday.

Are you outside in it? Because that would make you a wet one, wetone. :stuck_out_tongue:
Would that be a wet two?

Howdy Y’all! I have mowed two, count 'em, two yahds today. Now I am inside, all cleanded up, have et and in chill mode. As predicted, our rain chance has gone from sixty percent to twenty percent. Next time before I mow I’ll call TWPTB to notify 'em so they can adjust the forecast accordingly. I foresee nappage in short order. I’s tahrd!

So tired from last night’s escapades. Great times, but I’m exhausted. And I can’t sleep now because the school next to me is having a noisy event. Just my luck.

Six whole feet of mowing! Wouldn’t it be quicker to use clippers? :stuck_out_tongue:
I’m away for the wickend (again), unsure about intertubez; make sure to use Coasters.

I feel very relieved. I had a second appointment at the women’s clinic, to have another mammogram of my left breast Turns out it was just overlapping tissue. There was one very small "nodule: but the doctor went all the way back to my last mammogram and the same thing was there with no change in ten years… So no worries there.

This calls for a beer, or a margarita. of course, if there had been something truly sispicious I’d say the same thing.

Spidey you back talkin’? :dubious:  Love that song!

I have ush duty for Frank’s funeral tomorrow. A large crowd is expected. I must be on point tomorrow. Herdin’ Whiskypalians, Luteruns, and assorted others will be hard!

The other day I asked my pharmacy if they could get my prescription renewed for blood glucose test strips. Well, this morning they sent me an e-mail saying they were ready to pick up and the cost would be $475.00 for 400 strips. I decided to see if I could get them somewhere else cheaper. I found them on Amazon for $45.00 for 200 strips, with free shipping. :dubious: So I ordered them from Amazon. I guess I should call the pharmacy and cancel my prescription, huh?

Baker, I now know more about your breastses than I ever expected to know.
Glad to know there’s no worries there.

Wifey has gone off to the coast with a couple of her painting buddies to paint landscapes and stuff so I am without adult supervision again. I’m not sure quite what I want to do with myself for the next couple of days. Mow the lawn maybe?
I suppose I could go wild and make a tuna noodle casserole again?
Decisions, decisions.

I just found out this afternoon that an old guy who was a range officer at the rifle and pistol club died and his service was sometime today. The person who put up the notice posted all the particulars except the time, but I expect it’s over by now, and I don’t do funerals and such anyway. Oh well. He was a staunch conservative but I liked him anyway.
Maybe I’ll go upstairs and clean a gun in his honor.

Home after a very aggravating day. I should irk tomorrow but I don’t think I will. Unless I sleep very well and feel like it in the AM.

I don’t know what shall be supper and don’t even care. My neighbor gave me some black bean chili that is very good but a tad spicy. There is stuff for sandwiches. I ain’t cooking anything.

I am irritable.

Blurf

I’m awake now.

Last night I went to Ottawa to see my favourite band! Got home on a late-night-early-morning bus.

Did you get your car yet Juliet?

bumba, I’m insulin dependent and use a Kroger (Fred’s to you) meter and strips. Strips are $22 for 100 and easily available. It isn’t a fancy schmancy meter by far, but reads within a couple of points from the one at the doctor’s office (we check this periodically).

I knocked off around 2:30 this afternoon, grocery shopped and took Nelson to the dog park. It was a bit cooler today, so there were other pups on the small dog side. I now have a sleepy pooch.

This weekend is a busy one. Tomorrow, I’m down for two hours staffing the gate at Pride, then I need to go to Tar-jay for a toaster and an electric screwdriver to replace the ones that bit the dust this week. I’m fixing cabbage rolls for supper then and making an extra pan that I’ll bake Sunday for the brunch/board meeting of my heathen group. Tonight, I’m just watching some interesting genealogy stuff on YT.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 76 Amurrkin out and partly cloudy with a predicted high of 96 and mostly cloudy with possible rain/tstorms/apocalypse this afternoon. We shall see. The big item today is Frank’s memorial service at one-thirty this afternoon. I made chikin sallit last night and this mornin’ I shall make little chikin sallit sammiches for the reception afterwards. I made a lot of chikin sallit, some of which shall remain at da cave for munch purposes the next couple of days. Fun day ahead. Rah.

CupCakes yay for everything bein’ OK!

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, onward into the day with the makeage of little sammiches and purtification. Yee and Haw.

Happy Sattidy Y’all!

Happy Saturday!

Another cloudy, rainy day.

I slept in until 7:40 this morning and would probably still be asleep if Ripple hadn’t stuck his nose in my face.
He’s on my list this morning, not for waking me but because he won’t leave the cat be.

Nothing special to do today.
SSDD

There will be some more shenanigans tonight. Must prepare.
