I think it was Tracey who was “keeping warm” with Stve.
Does that make Tracey the person writing the online diary at abc’s Lost website? I haven’t read it in a while.
According to Wikipedia, the diary writer’s name is Janelle Granger although she was also known as Mustang Sally.
First of all, watsonwil’s question from last week remains in effect:
- What is the significance of the black smoke?
It sure looks that way. But until someone on the show says so, or at least puts the pieces together, I’ll include it.
Yup
Not really a mystery. More of a cliffhanger.
We probably do need something here.
Am I including Arzt’s campfire gossip? No, sorry.
So:
- Was it The Others who took Walt?
- Why do they want with Walt?
- What became of Alex?
I also think we should include:
- What’s the deal with the transmission Boone heard?
- When did Claire and Danielle meet before - and whay did Claire scratch her?
in re Steve and Tracy: That wasn’t Artz gossip, it was Sawyer reading the messages in the bottle. And I said it just for fun, anyways.
Right! Good. I’m glad I got you guys to keep me on my toes.
If the boat people are the others, it means they’ve been on the boat, or had access to the boat for 17 years right? If they’ve been on the boat, then where did the gasoline come from? If they’ve had the boat for that long, why haven’t they tried to leave the island? How did they get the boat in the first place? They were in a plane crash too.
Ugh, the woes of a summer without answers
I was under the impression that it was Danielle that attacked her with the needle. But I suppose it could have happened during the captivity with Ethan.
Perhaps Rousseau tried to inject Claire, to innoculate the baby against the “infection”, and/or later saved her and the baby from Ethan.
Ronin, it hasn’t been just airplanes bringing people to The Island. Shipwrecks (like CFL’s group) have brought at least two groups (survived or not).
But the other Qs are good. Perhaps the boat and fuel are rewards from The Island but tightly rationed?
Oh, I thought CFL was from a plane crash, my bad.
No prob
I’m a Trekker, so naturally, I obssess over details.
Who says they haven’t tried to leave the island. Who says they aren’t going back and forth to the mainland all the time? And leaving our survivors stuck there.
How evil is that?
Touche, that would be nefariously evil. What if, they did go to the mainland and they took Walt back to civilization, leaving the adults to fend for themselves… God I need answers.

For easy references, here are the answers from this season: -
What is the source of the French Transmission?
ANSWER: Danielle, the survivor of a science team that was shipwrecked on the island, set up the transmission. The transmission is now believed to be under someone else’s control. -
What happened to the people mentioned in the French Transmission?
ANSWER: They were all killed, seemingly by Danielle herself. Danielle, however, is still alive on the island. -
What was the nature of her relationship with the Federal Marshal? Was it more complicated than it seems?
ANSWER: Not exactly complicated, but it had developed to the point where the Marshall was taking the hunt kind of personally. He at least believed that Kate was taunting him. -
What was the problem between Jack and his Dad?
ANSWER: Dad was “under the influence” durring surgery, resulting in a patient’s death. Jack revealed this to the hospital’s medical board, probably resulting in the loss of his father’s medical lisence. -
What was Jin doing for Sun’s father?
ANSWER: He was sent to intimidate a government official into not closing down dad’s auto plant. Not understanding his orders to “deliver a message”, he failed and was sent with a thug who was going to kill the official. Jin beat the official to a bloody pulp, thus actually intimidating him and saving his life. -
Who conked Sayid on the head?
ANSWER: If you said “Locke”, you were correct. -
What was in the letter Sawyer was reading that made him seem upset?
ANSWER: It was a letter Sawyer wrote to the con man who scammed his parents out of their money, eventually resulting in his father killing his mother and then himself. -
Who was the woman in the photo that Claire gave Sayid?
ANSWER: Nadia, a childhood friend of Sayid. Probably involved in resistance activities. Sayid was supposed to get information out of her, but he helped her escape instead. Sayid believes she is dead. -
What killed the earlier group? (We may be wrong to assume it is the creature!)
ANSWER: Some or all of them were killed by Danielle for reasons unknown. At the very least Danielle was responsible for the death of her lover Robert. -
Why was Michael so estranged from Walt for so long. Is it related to Walt and his mother moving around so much?
ANSWER: Walt’s mom convinced Michael to let her new husband adopt Walt and basically did whatever she could to cut Michael out of Walt’s life. The new dad, Brian, had a big law firm job that moved him around a lot. -
What exactly is the geography of this still-very-ambiguous land mass they’re stuck on?
ANSWER: According to Danielle’s map, it is an island. -
What is the relationship between Claire and the father of her baby?
ANSWER: The big jerk dumped her because he couldn’t handle the responsibility. -
How recent was the flashback we saw for Sawyer?
ANSWER: Sawyer’s orriginal flashback was not neccessarily in the recent past and was not directly related to his being on the plane. -
What is Sawyer’s real name?
ANSWER: James Ford. -
Who exactly is Alex?
ANSWER: Danielle’s daughter, taken by the Others. -
What exactly did Boone and Locke find?
ANSWER: A hatch in the ground, sealed with cement that they had a hard time breaking into. -
What is the significance of Kate’s toy plane? (Does Kate even know herself?)
ANSWER: Right now I’m inclined to believe the Marshall. The plane has personal significance to Kate beyond mere sentiment. After causing Tom’s death it has become something of a retribution talismen to her. This is not to say that there isn’t some other significance as well. -
Who is the man that Kate loved and/or killed?
ANSWER: An old flame by the name of Tom. -
Why was Sawyer getting arrested in Sydney?
ANSWER: Bar fight. He head-butted an Australian minister. -
Does Jin speak English as well?
ANSWER: No. -
What is the Black Rock mentioned in the French Transmission and presumably marked on Danielle’s map?
ANSWER: It is not actually a rock. It’s an old time ship. It is also supposedly the origin point of the transmission. -
Why was Hurley on Korean TV?
ANSWER: Because he won a multimillion dollar lottery jackpot. -
Why was Locke in a foster home?
ANSWER: Mom was in and out of mental institutions because of her schitzophrenia. Dad’s situation was murkier. According to him, he was unaware of little John. But he may just have been a lying jerk. -
In what way is Locke’s dad not a good man?
ANSWER: He conned his son out of a kidney for God’s sake! -
What did Kate do to put her in trouble with the law and make her so eager to run from everything?
Partial Answer: She was the mastermind behind a bank heist. More will be added as her rap sheet fills out. -
What happened to Jack’s marriage?
Partial Answer: We at least know that he went through with it, but is no longer married.

Note: After removing the “Officially Removed” questions, that gives us 75 valid questions. If we consider the two “Partial Answers” to have as much information as one normally answered question, that gives us 25 answers (you could also throw in all the hints and clues, but I think 25 is a reasonable approximation).
Thus 75 questions, 25 answers. One third of the questions raised by this show have been addressed. 33.3333…%

Regarding #4, we have a partial answer in that we don’t know WAHT it is, but the function is as a security system.
Well, we have partial answers for lots of them. But I’ve only tagged those questions where we have significant information that we may need to know. For instance, it’s important to know that Jack isn’t currently married. I admit these are editorial decisions on my part.
What about “Was Ethan one of the Pirates”?
And what was the connection between Ethan and CFL re Claire’s kidnapping?
Covered by question 22 (new list)
What connection? Who says there’s a connection? Any questions based on what we do know would probably be covered by #50 (again, based on the numbering of the new list).
