(OLD) It's Tax Time in the MMP!

Yes.

Music is a wicked means of torture in episode three of The Walking Dead, “The Cell.” Trapped in The Savior’s main compound and surviving only on dog food sandwiches, Daryl undergoes systematic musical torture at the hands of the show’s big bad, Negan. The notorious villain’s go-to abusive tool slowly wears down the listener’s brain until it’s psychological mush.

Daryl is first broken by the constant repetition of “Easy Street” by the Collapsable Hearts Club — a tinkly, banjo-heavy track with a cheery message that transforms into something all too unsettling in Daryl’s torture chamber.

Okay, thanks!

Just adding another element to your day. But at least his output resulted in good input! I’m glad that Shadow is doing well for an old man kitty.

I’m sorry it’s so stressful, Taters. I don’t blame you for not having the energy for that BS. Here’s hoping that the days slow down a little for you, at least enough so you can catch your breath.

metal mouse, I didn’t get a chance to check with librarian friend. Unfortunately, she’d rescheduled it because of testing this week and forgot to tell me. But I am planning on going next week and I can ask them, if I don’t catch her sometime this week.

Of course it is! You must always believe the pets and/ or the children in this one!

Niner, I’m glad you had a good time at the conference, though I’m sorry you’ve once again deal with snow. Grrrrr…

FCM, I’ll be keeping my anti- rain fingers crossed for you!

shoe, your cross stitch is gorgeous! I used to have patience for it but I’ve had so much pulling at me that I can’t concentrate well enough anymore.

pilot , coconut hard caramel sounds very medicinal. I need to make some coconut cookies now.

metal mouse, I don’t blame you for being done with the fence people. I’ll be crossing my “let the house get back to normal” fingers for you.

Hubby and I were proud of CtE today. They didn’t call to come home at all. This is the first non-stressed day they’ve had in probably months. I’m hoping this continues until next week, then next month. The kids only have about a month until finals so I’m really hoping they can make it that last month.

BtY, on the other hand, is in small amounts of trouble because he brought his phone in to school. It’s supposed to stay with me until I confirm his school work was finished. If he doesn’t leave it with me, it becomes a wrestling match. Next week will be different, if I have to make him give his Dad the phone before we leave to go to school.

I get to spend 5+ hours at the library tomorrow. My branch is having a repair fair and book sale. I’m volunteering to help check people in. I’m looking forward not only to it but to pick up several books that are waiting for me. And, while I’m gone, Hubby and the kids are supposed to do some housework while I’m gone. It’ll be nice to come home to clean(er) house.

Now I think I’m going to go outside on the porch with a book and read while watching the rain come down. I’m feeling peaceful right now.

Afternoon. I wanna thank you all for the support yesterday. It means a lot to me, truly.

I do believe I shall recover, but I may need one more day to be pitiful. However a nameless someone is tending to disagree with that notion. I may need to resort to whimpers and sad puppy dawg eyes.

shoe very cool spiral. In my yute I did needlepoint but my eyes are getting old.

Speaking of old, I can’t remember N.O.L. Doper name. Mumper name was nooner I believe.

Swampyyou take as long as you need.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! You made a funny joke!!!

In the world of boat ownership, ain’t no such thing! But we can spread out the chores, ignoring some things so we can go places and do stuff.

Poor baby… :kissing_heart:

I got all my stuff priced and packed and ready to go. We went to MIL’s to deliver her meds and return her VISA. We hung around visiting a bit, hearing some of the same old stories again… she’s so lonely.

Supper was Friday Fish Fry at Cracker Barrel. We’s both stuffded and chillage shall ensue for the rest of the evening. Just checked tomorrow’s weather - two sites have t-storms starting in the evening, one shows them around 2 - here’s hoping majority rules! And I hope lots of people come with lots of money and buy all my stuff so I don’t have to bring it back home. I’ll try to post pics of the setup before things get started.

But for now, the recliner beckons!

That’s a pretty spiral shoe.

cat glove, over the years, most of the Muslims with whom I’ve worked tended to bring in treats for their cow-orkers in Eid al Fitr. Many times, we covered for them for prayers, or, on evening / overnight shifts, when they broke fast, so they showed their appreciation. I really liked it when they would bring in samosas. Yum!

Got everything done except going to Lowe’s. It’s supposed to get down to 39F tonight, so I decided to put off putting out plants until next weekend.

Sis and BIL just hit Memphis, so I’ll see them in 3.5-4 hours. They switched one of the dogs they’re bringing because she had a minor seizure (she was the runt of her litter and has experienced them most of her life). I worry a bit about that, since she’s Nelson’s mother. His father was left at home, since his diet isn’t as restrictive as his littermate’s. Now for supper KP.

So the hot weather was only here for loading the truck. Got thunder bumpers happening now and supposed to be in the 50’s for the next week. It just feels like I’m gonna lose power. Huzzah.

@purplehorseshoe

Lovely needlework!

While I was sleeping:
Spot: < comes out of couch >
Darci: “Oooo! play?”
Spot, arching back: “OH HELL NO.”
Roomie: Best not, Darci."
Darci: “OK
Also, roomie ordered pizza, and when the Pizza Hut guy knocked, Darci hid in the recliner. So much for the “guard dog”
and Darci and I took a slightly longer walk today. She’s improved a lot in 26 hours.

Yay!

Love the spiral, shoe.

Joy.

I can help with that

We went out for Thai food for an early dinner (got there before 16:00). I had 3 sticks of chicken satay, a Thai beef salad (5-star spicy), and two Singha beers. The Missus had shrimp & pineapple curry, 1 stick of chicken satay, a Thai iced tea, and one Singha. It was good.

**Doggio ** if I could master Darci sad puppy dawg eyes I would be emperor of the universe!

doggio Those are some impressive dawg eyes.

The rumbling of thunder turned into nothing, so I got the first mowage for the year done. Good thing, cuz it’s supposed to be crappy weather for the weekend, then I go on the road for a week. So what if’n I’m the weird neighbor mowing at 8 PM. Y’all wake me up catching the bus at some ungodly hour.

Are you as smitten as you sound?

It seems as though you are!

Darci is a good hitchhiker and knows she needs to always know where her towel is because who knows when she is going to travel again. Can you go to the thrift store and buy more used towels in her preferred color and make paths for her? (Of course she is worth new towels, but if she is used to old beat up towels that is what she should have for now.)

QFT, I kissed my share of toads before I found my prince. We all remember how it was when we were your age and most of us are pretty happy we aren’t anymore.

Oh, hurray! I’ve never heard from anyone who has actually participated, I’m glad your littles enjoyed them. Before the world ended, I was in the habit of leaving thrift store books where children would be waiting. You know…food stamp office, laundromats, bus stops, etc. The folks at the food stamp office would fuss about people stealing the books but I was happy the books left with children.

I need to start doing that again. I wonder if the folks who hand out the produce boxes would hand them out to families with children…I’m going to a BBQ hosted by a member of the board tomorrow, I’ll try to remember to ask her about it. They ask if we have dogs or cats when they hand out pet food, so they will probably be OK handing out books as well.

Please don’t stone me, but despite her having the voice of an angel, I don’t like her genre of music. I super admire her as a person, though. I know that folks out this way love her music because I sometimes buy one of her CDs to donate to the library and the library folks always gush about how popular she is.

I’m thinking you are right. I know that I used to always be burnt the first month on a new job because I was using my mind so hard.

Looks out open window, looks at calendar, reads your post again. I’m glad you enjoyed the Conference, I always try to attend things like that knowing that I am going to learn something. Positive thoughts, right?

Why? Not being snarky here, just confused.

Some arts and crafts projects just seem more fun than others, LOL!

Shoe, that is beautiful. I am always so awestruck at your wonderful use of colors, you are truly talented.

That is great, sadly many folks don’t get the tutorial and use their cane wrong which is worse than no cane at all.

Did you ever watch Sherlock? The first episode with Dr. Watson using that too short cane had me lecturing him within 5 minutes, LOL!

How could he possibly be so crewel and heartless!?!?!

I have 10. Gordie was a hoopy frood, too.

I was smitten 2 minutes into the visit with her and the foster dad.

She was also in an episode of The Orville(as holo Dolly Parton)

JtC, no offense taken. Different genres for different folks.

Waiting for a lull in the storm to take Nelson out. Sis and BIL are somewhere between Memphis and Nashville, with an ETA of 2150.

Thanks, I always get a little nervous when I confess to not liking her music because some folks don’t take that well.

I didn’t share the big news with everyone during my last post because I got interrupted…hubs bought a supersized curved monitor which arrived today. I look at it and think that I would totally hate it, but I’m not the gamer he is. He seems very happy, so I’m happy for him. GG of course helped every step of the way…except for the part where hubs knocked a glass off the desk and his first words were SHIT! GET GEORGE OUT OF HERE!!!

I got the maters in today, we had to buy small starts in 6 packs, so I picked the ones I wanted and will bring the others to my friend after dinner. I’m also going to give her birthday plant to her because I know she won’t want me to give it to her at the park, she’s going to be dragging enough stuff around already.

I totally read that as a year (not a time) and was like, “Jeez, these people drive SLOW!”

The thunder bumpers decided to come back, to the extent that the house shook from thunder. Yikes. I don’t know as I have been through it like that, outside of the hurricanes I’ve been in.
