(OLD) It's Tax Time in the MMP!

FCM - I know it’s some entirely-benign homeowner-thing that I (having never owned a home) have just never heard of… But, rollsucking???

Ordinary mortals call it using the vacuum cleaner. :wink: Stolen from Nathan Pyle cartoons.

Now, now, let’s be nice about Nebraskans. After all, two of your favorite Mumpers are Nebraskans (me and hippie).

So Panamanian Vince and T, the woman who does not want to be there, were not there today. So I had 3 new people who never did the dumping before, along with TPTB, who were panicking that things were not going as fast as normal. Glad it’s Manhattan night.
Spot/Beeker is back to hiding. Just like the freaks, he comes out at night.

Naybe she’s related to W. Morgan Sheppard :stuck_out_tongue:

Also, my 2 cousins live in Omaha.

We had to let Ripple go this morning.

Ripple

My last day of paschal break.

Lager decided to wake me up by being sick. I got him settled and headed out for breakies.

I getting the laundry started. If I get really ambitious I may break out the dragon blood paint and get that bit of the wall done. My main focus is getting everything out of the laundry basket and bins to the storage room.

Purplehorseshoe, if my aunt appears in the mirror, totally on you!

Hi all! Good to hear all the new news. And, the world being what it is, where no day is ever free of bad news, sad to hear the sad news about poor Ripple. Big hugs to the rest of the Ripple family.

Saints Orville and Wilbur did not smile upon us this morning at 5am and once again mechanical gremlins reigned supreme for a while before being beaten into submission by an entourage of New York’s brawnier tool-wielders. Eventually the gremlins were dead, we launched, and the rest was easy.

Riding the train home now at 11am. Slothage and perhaps nappage shall ensue when I get home.

{{{{{sari}}}}} I’m so sorry about Ripple, you did everything you could for him and gave him such a great life. He couldn’t have asked for more.

{{{{sari}}}}

I’m so sorry to read this.

What a good puppy.

So sorry to hear about Ripple. It’s never easy to lose a friend.

Well, the plumbers are here, but between drilling down through the slab and cutting into the drywall it’s pretty noisy here. Since it’s nice outside I’ve opened the doors and let the drill smoke drift outside (and share the racket with my neighbors). Have called the carpet folks and will see about getting a handyman service to repair/paint the drywall. The carpet folks want to replace the entire great room with new carpet (“the insurance will pick it up”) but only about 5% or less of the room was affected. Really just need new padding.

{{{{Sari}}}}. You knew it was his time but ti still hurts a lot. Even for someone who never met Ripple (in-person, that is). Be kind to Echo, she is going to be confused for some time, I think. And be kind to yourself, that’s a hard blow to take even if you knew it was coming. And some more {{{{ }}}}

BBBoo, no offense meant for any MMPer’s residing in the Cornhusker State.

Niner, hope the symposium goes well and the weather is nice for the drive.

OK, need to call the Handyman folks and find out what’s what. Take care all.

{{{{sari }}}} :cry:

Why isn’t there a band called Mush Honey?

sari, I am so sorry about Ripple.

{{{sari}}} So sorry about Ripple.

{{{{Sari}}}} I’m so sorry you’ve lost a little friend (and Ripple was a wonderful name for a dog to have.)

metalmouse, it looks like it should be OK as long as I don’t run into any flooding? Might be snow along the route come Friday, so I should just be squeaking past.

{{Sari}}
So sad to hear about Ripple. I feel like I knew him. I will reiterate MetalMouse’s words: be kind to yourself. You are someone who is constantly doing for others. Put yourself first right now; you need and deserve at least that much.

I’m so sorry about Ripple, Sari. {{{{{Sari}}}}}

I like your Murphy bed Wheelz. In sympathy I want to tell you that I am currently sitting at a desk that took me 6 anna half hours to assemble. And I used to work in construction for a little while.
(Someday I’ll figure out why that bottom drawer won’t close all the way. :thinking:)

Today we’re supposed to go on a road trip to look at houses, but Wifey is still in bed.
That’s okay. I’m not ready to go out into the world yet anyway.

I used to have a sorta girlfriend in Omaha. Not Boo unfortunately. (I don’t think)

Good Toosday, everyone!

I dunno, we got some floozies (and ex-floozies) floatin’ around here!

Disclaimer: I have never - to my best recollection - set foot in Omaha.

Dammit. Ripple was such a good boy and so endearing. His time among us was way too short, but you made it all a dog could want. {{{{{{{sari and son and Echo}}}}}}}

MetalMouse, how old is the carpet? Just wondering if it’d make sense to replace it now, when insurance will pay, instead of having to do it on your own dime 5 years from now.

I’m hoping this isn’t a typo and that there really is a team devoted to loafing. Good luck and have fun navigating yourself very busy day!

I know where mine are: partying all with my undies and tee shirts in the laundry basket. It’s what happens during the amusement park ride in the washer where things get sketchy.

I ask because when I was in third graders and had Sister Mary Succubus (who lived to be 102, proving again that only the good die young), I had many stomach aches that eluded a diagnosis. School anxiety is a thing. I hope they get caught up on their school work.

…that’s where the corpses are. Much more effective.

doggio, it sounds like Spot LaBeeker is settling in nicely.
