[Old] Lets have a healthy breakfast in the MMP

I’m trying really hard not to cry at how badly I think I did with my hair. I bleached both mine and CtE’s hair and then, since mine said that the color needed to be put on freshly washed hair, I figured I’d do that tonight too.

I don’t like it. At all. I think the blonde looked better, and I may try to strip it back to that (at least it’s semi-permanent color instead of permanent). Here’s the outcome -

So… yeah. I’m hoping it looks better when it’s dry, but the kind of luck I have, I’m not going to hope too much.

Other than this, my day was good. Lots of games played, rearranging the living room, going to visit Dad, Chinese food for lunch, messaging from friends.

I need to cheer myself up a little, so I’m going to go talk Hubby into playing one of my new DC deck builder games. That always cheers me up.

Very special; love it! I’ve added it to My Wish List on Amazon. I’ll have to let my daughter know.

One other thing that helped make yesterday a clusterF was that when we went to the Sec of State for Hubs appt for a handicap hang placard, first we had to wait for 40 minutes past the appt time, then they refused to take the form because the Dr’s nurse had used white out on it since when she started printing his name, she must have misspelled it. Drat! Although I took BFF’s suggestion to go to a restaurant near her for a carryout of maple pecan salmon with 3 sides for Hubs. He enjoyed it so that made me happy.

Thanks Taters for the info about WildBirds Unlimited; I will checkout their website.

I’m so sorry {{Sari}}.

That explains how he can afford to live by the Bird Hills.

When we visited the ruins in Palenque, Mexico, we came upon a group of German tourists. They spoke Spanish with their tour guide and English with us. I was impressed.

My favorite coleslaw recipe is to go to Kroger and buy a container of it :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: However, when I was young and made it a time or two, shredding cabbage and carrots and knuckles, I’d use Marzetti dressing, it’s the best.

Maybe it doesn’t look quite as bad dry…

That’s cute and it really brings out your eyes.

realfish I like the turquoise. Dunno if that’s what you were going for, but it’s cool. 'specially if’n you unclenched your eyebrows.

Agreed the turquoise is good. It looked good wet in the 4-pic montage and this pic of it dried looks good too.

Just so everybody knows … If you click those pics to open in a new tab or window you can actually see her hair, not just the hairline, forehead, and face. Discourse is showing only a clip of the pic inline within the thread.

One thing it is not is subtle. It’s not highlights. It’s TURQUOISE hair, period. At first it probably feels pretty shockingly different to you. But it’ll quickly grow on you (heh).

Those aren’t worry lines. Those are “I’m trying to hold a pleasant face, and a phone without dropping it, and aim the damn thing, and tap the shutter button and …” effort lines. Ask me how I know. On second thought, don’t.

Just sticking my head in to say “Hiya!” and “May the Easter Beagle bring you lots of good things!”

I got sick and then got embroiled in family stuff and am now cooking. I’m hopelessly behind but did see the news about Ripple. Dammit. We love that pup.

{{{{{Sari}}}}} {{{{{Ripple}}}}} and {{{{{Echo}}}}} because this’ll probably be hard on her, too.

I’m sorry you got sick, I’m glad you are better. I hope your cooking is going well.

Yep, that’s what I was trying to say about once your eyes get used to it. Personally, I thought the wet pic was too brassy, the dry color is softer and more delicate somehow.

Today I wanted to freeze some carrots and saw that I didn’t have room to put a cookie sheet in our chest freezer and our fridge freezer is just as full. I pointed it out to hubs while saying we needed to start eating what we have for a while because there is good stuff in there. I just caught hubs looking at bigger chest freezers. :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

GG is going to be two years old tomorrow, our little jerkface is growing up. He is so very handsome and regal looking and has turned into a very good cat. He can still be defeated by turning a chair backwards, though. I think we aren’t going to need the baby gate much longer (COC hasn’t had a very good few days) and I’m wondering how long it will take to convince GG that there isn’t a monster loose in the house.

Had a Sazarac, and Asian BBQ chicken with asparagus and 'shrooms.

Looks good to me,

{{{{JtC}}}}

Oh, I like it!!

Yeah, I’d do that if it was a work thing, but I’m retired so have the time to do more for friend things.

Plus, I’m gooooood with knives. I should probably be on one of those Samari cooking shows cause I can chop potatoes two handed.

I spent most of my day on our porch, it was beautiful. At one point I had to duck and cover my head because of fighting hummingbirds, spring is in the air after all. Other than that, the birds were singing, GG’s fountain was blurbling (it is in the catio because we got tired of him splashing the water all over the floor) and I saw butterflies flitting around. Hubs sprinkled clover seed on the bare spots which I think did nothing (because the seeds needed water at least) but get him up and walking, but the birds will have a good breakfast in the morning.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 48 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 65 and cloudy for the day. Not exactly Easter type weather for ‘round here, but at least no rain. Maybe the humanlets can hunt aigs on the playground after church. Not that I will be anywhere near that. OK, since it is Easter, the agenda is quite full for the day, for us at least. We shall deheathenate large, and feast large. The ears of the chawklit bunny sittin’ on my desk shall soon be history!

Nellie sorry you got sick. Hope today is much better.

RealFish I think the hair looks good. Hope you are happier with it this mornin’. Makin’ a change like that can cause a freak out at first, so try not to worry so much.

JtC happy birthday to GG! I am sure he will be fussed over greatly today. As for coleslaw, mine is basic. Chopped cabbage, grated carrots, some grated onion (or not), salt, pepper, and mayo. It ain’t fancy but always tastes good. If’n I want to be fancy I use both green and purple cabbage.

Cat_Glove yay for gettin’ an appointment with the collision center so soon. That was nigh on to a miracle! Hope the rest of everything goes that smoothly.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then purtification for deheathenization must commence.

Happy Sunday Y’all! Happy Easter to all who observe!

It’s 35°!!! That’s just wrong! We might see 60° today since the sun is supposed to make an appearance. And I’ll be just north of Baltimore, so it’s apt to be chillier there. Dammit. Not the weather for an Easter bonnet…

FCD is dropping me off at Daughter’s place around 11, and we’ll head north with the kids. I expect FCD will futz in his shop or watch a lot of TV - he’s still coughing and congested, poor baby. I just need to remember the eggs.

I crocheted a basket and a couple of drawstring bags last night - they’re cute! Hope they sell. We also watched Casablanca for the gazillionth time, only because FCD controlled the remote. I’ve have found something else. Oh well.

Shortly, I’ll do a few chores, then shower and decide what to wear. Not looking forward to the drive, but the kids’ egg hunt should be fun.

Happy Easter! Chocolate pig-out day!!!

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off today It’s cold and damp, but at least the rain has ceased for the moment.
Happy Easter, Passover, and Ramadan, since all three fall on the same date this year. Except for the Othodox. Their like the car radio clock of faith this year.

Happy Birthday GG! :cat:

real fish, I keep my hair blonde as an everyday thing now, but when I didn’t, I would wait a couple of days after bleaching to add any color. You’ll see a difference in the coloring if you add some spray leave in conditioner to your routine to help repair any damage done by stripping it.

Happy birthday GG! JtC, are you wanting to make vinegar slaw (best with fried foods) or creamy? For creamy, I chop the cabbage, sometimes adding a bit of red, grate a carrot, chop a couple of scallions and make a dressing with sour cream, some vinegar, lemon or lime juice, a little sugar, salt and pepper. Depending upon the rest of the menu, I may add some celery seed, sumac or chopped cilantro. For vinegar slaw, I mix a mild vinegar with a little water, some sugar, salt, pepper, a slug of olive or other salad oil and celery seed. It’s hard to give you exact measurements, since I tend to do this according to how much cabbage I’m working with.

Happy Easter to those who celebrate!

Like others, it definitely isn’t Easter weather in middle Tennessee (46F when I walked Nelson this morning). I’ll take a small basket to the little neighbor girls, but otherwise, it’s another Sunday to me.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

Morning all and happy Savior/Bunny/Egg/Church/Eating Out Day (that should cover it). 48F here heading to 65F and at least the skies are clean and the rain is gone. Need to take the blower back to the Home Depot (it sorta worked) and take an on-line class for soccer, outside of that a day of sloth is hereby proclaimed. First Mowage of the year has been placed on the schedule for Tuesday, so I have that to look forward to. Hopefully will watch a little golf today.

JtC, so is GG out of or just starting the Terrible Twos?? And {{ }} to COC. As for the tree, how long is it going to take to get big enough for you to walk under it?

Real Fish, having so little of it I am no judge of hair, but I think it looks fine; just try a picture with a smile or laugh and see if it changes.

nellie, hope you’re feeling and doing better today.

Cat Glove, ah, the agonies of bureaucracy. Hope a corrected (and error-free) form can be provided quickly.

OK, need to get some stuff done and prepare for high sloth. Take care all.

Mornin’ It’s 8:30 now. I’ve been up since 6, mostly patio-in’, readin’, Dopin’ n’ caffeinatin’. Air’s warm while the skies are mostly cloudy here near the beach with our morning edgewater clouds. It’s bright blue inland and our clouds will burn off soon. Any mid-day easter egg hunts will need lots more sunscreen and shorts than umbrellas and windbreakers. Mittens are right out.

When sunrise happened it was very pretty, although from my vantage I can’t see where the Sun actually emerges from the sea. Though I can in the winter. Many churches of all denominations hold sunrise service at the beach. Officiants in their respective regalia down to their knees while barefoot and wet below. I’m sure they all had a nice spectacle for their various ritual incantations.

Her Ladyship had “suggested” last night that I feed before she emerges this morning, to ensure I was out from underfoot in the kitchen during the all-too-brief interval between when she emerges, a lot of last minute food prep needs to be done, and we need to leave for daughter’s house with the semi-assembled Feast-ette and all the many, many tools needed to finish it there. I’ve served with Army units that take less gear into battle. But she’s hella organized, everything is compactly packed for safe mess-free transport, and nothing is forgotten.

A great and restless mind in the service of such small things. But that’s probably better than the useless crap I devote my own great and restless mind to.

In any case, my feeding is complete and my own wreckage stowed away. Now it’s down to just letting the countdown to blast-off run while I fiddle w y’all and shower once that’s she’s awake and that’s available.

And here she is! Miss America!

Happy festivating all! Cheers!

A pretty Palm Sunday here in philly. I won’t be waving a swiffer like dogbutler, we get pussy willows on Palm Sunday. However, as I had an immediate audio/visual upon reading that post I will give y’all the same earworm it caused me. Jesus Christ Superstar (1973) Hosanna.wmv - YouTube

I go with aqua crush, or turquoise reef, and I can say it definitely dries lighter, and will tone down as you wash it. Use a lot of conditioner.

It looks good truepisces!

Sounds like she rock at tailgating

Thanks to all for the kind words about Bailey! She’s a very good and sweet dog. I had to hold her still yesterday while the vet poked and prodded the thing on her leg, and she was awesome: she just needed one sotto voce “Bailey” in her ear during the whole thing. I like to say that she’s a better dog than she should be, because I really didn’t train her much. Heh. Happily/amazingly, she seems to not care about the bandage one bit. I hope the vet calls tomorrow and we can get the procedure scheduled for Tuesday or Wednesday.

I also had the doc look at her teeth yesterday, because I’d noticed her pawing at her mouth a few times, and she does have some periodontal disease: she needs a dental cleaning under general anesthetic. I forgot to schedule it yesterday, so I’ll do that tomorrow (those cleanings usually need to be booked at least a month out). She’s had several dentals over the years and so far has never needed any tooth extractions, but I have a feeling our luck in that regard may have run out.

I’m very grateful that all of this stuff is relatively minor, but it’ll be a tough spring for my senior girl. :dog:

FCM and I live just close enough to each other to often have similar weather: it was also 35°F here when I woke up – and, like she said, that’s just wrong!! It’s supposed to hit 61 at some point. At least it’s sunny, and it isn’t windy. Starting on Tuesday we’re supposed to hit the upper 70s/low 80s every day for almost a week.

Easter dinner at my BFFs’ will be at 2pm; I’m aiming to arrive ~12:30pm. It’s just 9:30am now, so I have plenty of time to keep putzing around before I need to get in the shower and make myself fit to be around other humans. During the week I shower before I start work, but on the weekends I like to wait until about an hour before I need to leave: I take care of the dog, brush my teeth, and make my coffee protein shake just like any other morning, but then I prefer being able to feel “unrushed” while I sit at the computer for a while/do other stuff before showering.

It looks great! How was the assembly?

Looks good to me.

Awww, happy birthday to GG! :birthday:
