(Old, or maybe we mean Aulde) Happy Christmas MMP

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off today. I shall go over the river and through the woods to The Quay for early Christmas dinner. Unless we don’t, since they are Down With The Sickness, in which case I will make deviled aigs for myself.

Nope, a human Messiah. I just can’t draw hands.

I get pop ups for things Roomie buys, so a lot of it is IP based.

Merry Christmas to all who celebrate.

Made Paul Hollywood’s scone recipe this morning, and served the scones with homemade strawberry freezer jam that’s been hanging out in the freezer since 2021. Then I baked a pumpkin pie. While it cooled, we went for a long walk, as it’s sunny and warm (11 C / 52 F).

As it’s just the two of us, our main meal will be chili (beef with beans), followed by pie. Later we’ll zoom with my parents, followed by Doctor Who.

Super exciting, right?

Mornin’ all. Gray, warm, & breezy here ~3 hours post-dawn.

Her Ladyship’s Son & Fiancée and arrived on Sat evening having flown from Hyderabad via London. So jetlag was the order of the evening.

Sun for all of us was all day at Daughter’s with the Horde. For the first time in years, Daughter has no infants, so we had full frontal 2, 3, 4, 4, 5, 6, & 9 yos for about 8 hours straight. Everybody can run, squeal, and beg for attention. 3 can talk, the other four kinda. Such fun.

We’re about to leave to go there again today for more like 10 hours.

Merry Xmas day to all!

You just don’t get opportunities like this often enough:

My wife, for breakfast, has an instant oatmeal packet, a banana and an orange. Today, Mr. Banana wasn’t looking all that jolly. I said to her You sure you wanna eat this? Why not? she replied. I turned to the formerly yellow-skinned fruit and sang You’re a bad banana with a… greasy, black peel! :notes:

Merry Holidays, everyone.

Why it is Xmas morning and a Monday I need not care about traffic . Expect mild and cloudy weather and I will spend daytime calling around to persons across time zones.

Have a merry and joyful one!

Half past six, and I’ve almost finished a very large mug o’ joe. Santa came and left presents, so I put Mrs. L.A.'s presents with them. When Santa Mrs. L.A. wakes up, we can tear into them.

Everyone talks about Die Hard being a Christmas movie, but nobody ever mentions The French Connection.

Happy X-mas to all who celebrate, happy moonday to e’rey body else. I’m visiting my folks in Maine for the long weekend. My baby sister (she’s 45) will be arriving in a couple hours.

A merry Christmas to everyone who celebrates!

swampy, your goddaughter cracks me up!

'Tis a rainy morning here in middle Tennessee (yes, Nelson wore his ducky slicker this morning), but mild temps. Currently, KP has been done and I’m coninuing caffeination and watching a biography about Toulouse Lautrec and fixing to mess around in the studio once a small reddish doggy feels like leaving my lap.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

That sounds absolutely divine! Hubby’s making qweesh for breakfast, the kids are diving into their gifts and I’m kicking back being a shlub by noodling around online.

All gifts are opened and loved. I got Hubby a bunch of Magic: the Gathering stuff that he is geeking over. BtY is currently putting together a knock-off Lego Dr Eggman from Sonic. CtE is playing their new Pokémon game. I got a couple of coloring books, a long sleeved shirt, a Pokémon plush, some Doctor Who stickers and a bunch of Ferrero Roche. We’ve got jazz Christmas playing through YouTube Music. The only thing better would be if we got snow. But… Tennessee.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful day with family, friends or enjoying the silence. Love to all my Mumper friends!

“I got a man in Poughkeepsie who wants to talk to you. Have you ever been in Poughkeepsie? Huh? Have you ever been in Poughkeepsie?”

Merry merry! -2F here, so waiting for the sun to warm things up before taking the boys for a hike. Much merrier this year–last year Lucas took off Christmas Eve morning and didn’t come home for 12 days. We were sad. Now he’s got a brother and he’s a much happier pitty!

Hubs has already gotten a couple, LOL!!!

BFF’s daughter is having her baby shower the beginning of February and we have been invited. I’m pretty sure the invite wasn’t just a gift grab, all of her daughters really do seem to enjoy our company and will seek us out for chats during gatherings. All that being said, neither of us have ever really enjoyed baby showers and we are hoping that buying off the upper end of her registry will make up for our non-attendance.

Once the pork butt is out of the smoker we will head to Prescott for a day of tourist stuff (almost everything at the courthouse square will be open today) and a 1700 dinner at the Hassyampa Inn and then home because tomorrow we need to head out early to catch the train.

VBC doesn’t really seem to mind when our schedule changes, but GG is already getting naggy and we are just beginning the vaca with family stuff.

Merry Happy Kwanzaahannuchachristmasholidays from me and Bob.

About time to make myself cup :coffee: #2. Definitely a pajama and slippers day. Can’t see the grandkids-heavy duty Covid at their house (still) since the 13th and I’ve had to stay strictly away, so a very Scroogey, Grinchy, bah humbug Christmas for me. Plus the winter storm with this ice and snow seals the blue Christmas deal. Just me and my cat, sharing the electric lap throw, watching the big fluffy (and treacherous) flakes come down.

But I am celebrating all my magic imaginary Mumper friends, you all are great at hanging in with me and you guys get the credit for me getting through it. Thank you from all the grey, gloomy recesses of my heart!

And a happy Xmas morning to all. Gifts were exchanged last night, did really well on the gift front. A little bit of snow this morning, but nothing sticking. Watching early CSI: Vegas shows for entertainment but have books and puzzles to keep me entertained.

Take care all.

Merry Christmas! :christmas_tree:

  • Back Door Santa | Clarence Carter
  • Carol Of The Bells | Rockapella
  • Christmas Eve (Sarajevo 1224) | Savatage
  • Christmas In Hollis | Run DMC

  • Christmas Medley | Barenaked Ladies & Sarah MacLaughlin

My new ornament storage containers arrived at around 2pm yesterday, and I started undecorating shortly thereafter. I took my time, including a long break, but got everything organized and packed up and put away in time to watch Die Hard last night. I even did the shelves/books/LEGOs rearranging that I’d had in mind since last month. Everything isn’t completely back in place in the third bedroom yet, though, because I’ll need access to one of the big Rubbermaid containers in order to put the wreath hanger away whenever I take the front door wreath down (likely tomorrow).

At around noon I’ll get in the car and head north to meet my dad and brother for lunch. Christmas Day traffic is usually on the light side, even on I-495 (:crossed_fingers:). After we eat we’ll go to Dad’s place for a little while, but I’ll want to be back home by dinnertime in order to feed the doggy and do some final slothing. I have four work deadlines and two personal training sessions between now and Thursday night, so it’ll be a busy three-day week…and I owe my trainer a session, so I’ll schedule that for Friday or Saturday (depending on when I can get together with my BFFs).

Heck, I’m neither young nor a mother but I totally know that you have to use the one you were gifted so it can be seen!

Yeah, IMDb trivia says the stunt coordinator dropped him on “2” instead of “3” to get a better reaction out of him.

Perfect! :joy:

D’awwww…

Ugh, sorry about the disrupted plans/grandkids time! Hoping you (and the cat) can find some peace today. :two_hearts:

I thought I was being so clever!

I intentionally bought a cheap ($25) frame that was too small for Mrs. L.A.'s patient’s drawing, and put the $150 gift card right in the middle of it. (And the Tournée du Chat Noir print to fit the cheap frame.) Mrs. L.A. didn’t realise it was a gift card! She thought it was just branding by Michael’s! After she put the frame away, I told her the gift card was for $150, and that I thought that would be enough for a nice frame. She said, ‘What gift card?’ She was surprised and happy that that actually was a gift card. I guess I was too clever by half.

Oh, and the print of the patient’s drawing will fit the cheap frame. I kew I should have gotten a table-top frame!

Can’t believe I’ve missed the last two MMPs. I’ll catch up with y’all later on, but I wanted to be sure to say Merry Christmas to all who celebrate! (And a very Happy Monday to those who don’t.)

Sure a lot of sirens for a Christmas day. We live at the intersection of two very busy streets and a freeway, so sirens are to be expected, but it seems like a lot for a holiday.

Not a happy holiday for some people.

We just heard several gunshots outside. It’s still duck season here (until January 28th). People are shooting their dinners. The saddest thing I ever saw was when I was working in San Bernardino. It was an industrial area that still only had very few buildings, so it was empty streets and empty lots. A duck had been hit by a car, and lay at the side of the street. Her mate was pacing around her, looking inconsolable. I decided then that I would only eat farm-raised ducks.
