Ooooh, looky, it's the second annual springy MMP!

It’s early. I’m awake.

Oh well, I promised TVMan that I would actually do a little bit of cooking this weekend including breakfast this morning which will be pancakes and sausage. At work this week I purchased a gallon of a Mediterranean Feta dressing and I’m going to marinate some chicken in it and fix it with some lemony/parmesan rice for dinner.

Believe it or not, he said ok to going to church tomorrow. But, no, swampy, we won’t be jumping out from behind anything to surprise grandma. She is 78, after all. :stuck_out_tongue:

The sun is rising, birds are chirping, and I’m still awake. I guess it’s time to go brush my teeth, take some medicine and zonk out.

I’ll report back later.

Oooh, honey balls (shut up! Stop snerking!) from Athens! Yum. I still think my cake wins, though.
Erk. Nap sleep training is going quite well. Night sleep in the crib is not going so well. Argh.

Bathtime. Back later.

rosie! PM for you…

Up and off to work. Teh sick is back. bergh.

Up. Caffeinating. Blergh indeed. I finished the first, longer chunk of Mr. Stupid Idiot, but alas, have the second, shorter (but still FAR too long) chunk to finish this weekend. Plus I have a pile of laundry to do, plus a little picking up around the house so our neighbor who’s going to feed the cat while we’re gone doesn’t see what the house usually looks like. Oh well, my excuse – and it’s a damn fine one! – is that I’ve been working hard!

I missed that Colbert Report with the astronaut interview, so really enjoyed seeing ig, SmartOne. That was a delightful way to start off the morning, thanks!

Hugs, yays, boos, get wells, etc. as appropriate. I’m off to work. Blergh.

Good morning, everyone!

I’m being a slacker this morning. I got to sleep in until 6:30, woo-hoo! Poor hubby had to work on Saturday again. I guess he should just get used to it. But for sure he gets next Saturday off, because we’re going to Denver. Yay!

I bought my shoes and bag last weekend, and my dress the week before that. I really need to buy a new bra, but I donwanna go shopping again. I am the anti-shopper.

I made sausage and ham-n-cheese omelettes for breakfast, and tonight they’re taking me out to Carabba’s for dinner. Mmm.

Sorry about your truck, Swampus.

Pie, I’m glad y’all are getting along better.

Mom, I’m sorry you’re sick, and hugs for the Bernster.

Muppet, yay for The Boy!

Hang in there, Taters.

Ok - I better get moving. Or check out the rest of the Dope. Hmm, decisions, decisions…

“The ultimate product placement”–I love Colbert. That astronaut was great!

Up, eating oatmeal and prepping for soccer. I dunno what you all do to prep for soccer, but I flatiron my hair.

Whoever told me to put baking soda in my shampoo to rid my hair of residue deserves a Nobel peace prize. It works like magic and my hair looks good. Thanks!

Off to visit Grandmama Dearest and wish her a happy Mother’s Day. I think I’ll pick up a nice potted plant on the way - she doesn’t have much room for clutter in the nursing home, but flowers and plants always seem to be welcome (I’m pretty sure she gives the old ones away as new ones come in).

Then dim sum. Then gardening. It’s a nice day.

Problem is, I have to get this cat off my lap first. Sigh.

Back from breakfast and Lowe’s. We were getting prices of the stuff we’ll need to build the apartment downstairs. Dang, building materials have really shot up!!

Both of us are feeling particularly crappy, and the drizzly day isn’t helping much - it’s in the low 50s around here, so it’s not very spring-y out. I should be napping. Fat chance.

<sigh>

And Cleo continues to hiss at Taz - she’s a brat!

Pie reply for you
weird dreams - one revolved around a smallish horse who knew how to clean up after himself, and when I questioned him how he was able to do so without opposable thumbs, he demonstrated how he used his front hooves to scrape it all together, then drag hay over to cover it up.
I have no idea where he or the hay came from

another dream was me watching a remake of an old movie that involved secret love affairs and betrayal - no idea what the movie was, but the soundtrack was Led Zepplin because my alarm had gone off.
I am going to sing karaoke tonight. Yay!

Morning all! Sorry to hear about twuck, Swampy; hope you’ll make the best decision about it’s fate.

I was up earlier, caffeinated, then went back to sleep. Then just a while ago, while surfing and getting ready to post on here, I all of a sudden remembered that it was -today- that my subscription ended and I needed to re-up! I think I made it in time. Good grief, I just keep forgetting things.

FCM, I’m thinking of Bernie and hoping that she’ll be okay–good idea to talk to the vet though.

Day six … yesterday was a stressful day, I guess, because I thought about smoking all day long. My brother says that it gets better, that I’m just getting the physical addiction out of my system now. I can’t give in, though, and won’t. I’m a non-smoker now! I may be imagining it, but it seems that I’m actually breathing more easily now and even doing little things like standing up isn’t as painful as it had been. Probably just wishful thinking, but that’s what it feels like.

Probably heading out later today; it’s cool and a bit gloomy here, at least it’s stopped raining.

I’m up and caffienating and have some laundry going. It’ll be ready to toss in the dryer in just a few minutes.

Today is another workout day, and after that, I’ll have to clean up again and head to the store for drinks to bring to my sister’s place tomorrow.

We went to dinner last night with the kids and came home. After we came home, some friends called and asked if they could drop by, so they came on over and we all watched a movie together.

I’m sorry about the truck swampy. Have you made a decision as to what you’re going to do re: engine replacement or head replacement?

taxi, hugs to you.

**FCM, ** I hope you and the mister get to feeling better soon.

I re-upped earlier this week. I figure I easily get $7.48 worth of entertainment from this place every year.

Alas, I don’t think Bernie will ever be OK. She’s old and every time I pet her, I feel more tumors under her coat. I’ll be amazed if she lives to the end of the year. She’s been a good dog, but I’m enough of a realist to know she doesn’t have much time left.

I’m sad to hear about Bernie, FCM. Here are a few more complimentary skritches for her.

Yay for graduation, donkeybear!

Sorry about the truck, swampy.

Hope Nat catches onto the night-sleep-in-crib thing soon, LiLi.

Dinner sounds yum, Pie. Do you deliver this far away?

It’s very nice out right now. Allegedly 60 (although it feels warmer) and sunny. I’ve been to the credit union and cruised over to Lowe’s and Home Depot to consider buying potting soil for containers. Both places were too crazy for me. So I’m going to plant everything that’s going in the ground, mow the lawn, and then go back to get potting soil.

It’s supposed to rain tomorrow, so I suspect I’ll be planting in the garage, but at least it will mostly get done.

I spent around $170 at the nursery this morning; just about everything was 20% off (plus I got a little pot for free because they didn’t see it till they’d already rung me up), so I’m not terribly distressed. I think I have all the plants I need for containers now and most of the ones I’m planting in the ground. I’m also doing a bunch of seeds so that August and September will be all flowery with stuff that’s different from earlier in the summer. We’ll see how that works out.

I’m headed outdoors to plant stuff. Back whenever I take a break.

Hugs to all I missed…

GT

I re-upped around the end of March. I figure the $7.48 is the cheapest I’ll have to pay for entertainment. Besides, what would I do if I couldn’t see my Mumpers?

Poor Bernie. I dread the day that my doggie is too old or sick to go on. Since he’s a largish dog, he won’t be around as long as little dogs. He’s around eight or nine years old now and I can tell age is starting to slow him down.

I’ve missed most of the MMP the week… tried to keep up but it’s been nuts at work and I need to keep an eye on my trainee.

Yays! and boos as appropriate leaves a huge pile of hugs for anyone who needs it

I dunno what to get my Momma for Mother’s day and it’s tomorrow! Maybe I should run over to the spa place and get her a pedicure gift certificate, she’s never had one (that I know of) and we’ve talked about it a time or two. I think she’d like it. I also cut out a recipe for pancakes with a cranberry mango topping that looks yummy. It calls for fresh mangos though, and I don’t know if the store has any, so I may sub in canned mangoes, but I want to try it. Make some for her and for me.

Yays, hugs, boos to all, and a lit candle for swampy’s twuck.

Took Zeldadog out to the greenway for a walk. Now she’s all worn out (for the next twenty minutes). Forgot to go to the library, though, so I have to go back out.

I am not looking forward to tomorrow. I’m seriously considering going on a media blackout so I don’t have to hear about Mother’s Day crap. (For those of you who missed it, my mom kicked it back in July. Yes, she would have referred to it as “kicking it.” Morbid sense of humor, that one.)

HeyHey, Kids! *Krusty fanfare

My internet has been…hmm… thready and weak? I had zero connection last night but now I have limited 'net so I suppose this is some kind of improvement.

Yesterday, I was at my favorite thrift store (Village on Elston Ave) and checking the books when I made a great find. It was a yearbook from my high school during my junior year! I think mine is still at my folks but I haven’t seen it in years. I was the dork reading a book at the thrift store, laughing out loud. I was able to determine the original owner so I’m planning to look him up to see if he intended for his yearbook to be for sale at a thrift store. I took the book to work today and my coworkers and I had a laugh at my weak photos. Dang, what I wouldn’t do to go back to high school.
I’m a little freaked out by the image invoked by whoever mentioned the broken hand stuck in the alternator belt/pulley.

I was once very nearly driven crazy by this same thing. It turned out that I was logging in with the guest password instead of the admin PW. Worth a shot, anyway.

Ah, the dilemna of what to get the moms for Mother’s Day.

We will have to buy three gifts (one for my mother, one for my sis, and one for the MIL). I figure I’ll get them a plant basket or some kind of unusual plant.

Because I’m probably buying plants, I don’t have to worry about fit.

I have no idea what I’ll receive. Probably a planter or hanging basket too, although I’d really like a tree to replace the coral bark maple that died a couple of years ago. I loved that tree.
