Ooooh, looky, it's the second annual springy MMP!

I am buying my mom and grandma each a very nice set of 4 microwaveable graduated bowls with matching lids for mother’s day. I bought a set for TVMan’s house at WalMart a month or so ago and I just got around to using them this weekend. Nice, practical, affordable… What’s not to love?
I just bought some stuff including several Robin McKinley paperbacks on Amazon.com with gift certificates. Exciting!

Now I need another nap, one without phone calls.

Howdy Y’all! Just a quick post cause family is gatherin’.

I decided to spend the $1100 for the fix on twuck. Twuck will be relegated to runnin’ around town and haulin’ off stuff, which is ok bein’ as twuck is nine years old. The good news on it is they’ll have it ready by Wednesday, so I can bring BIL’s truck (he’s lettin’ me borrow it to get home) back and get twuck. One of the nice things about my current job is that I can do stuff like that. So, I’m feelin’ a lot better about it all now.

I reupped this past week. I figure it’s worth it to hang out in here if nuttin’ else. Besides, I couldn’t bear the thought of all the mournin’ that would go on if I didn’t stay.

Congrats on graduatin’ Donkeybear! I look forward to tales of graduation night escapades.

Yays, boos, hugs, congrats!

Later Y’all!

I just got pics from my mom so, check out the first 15 photos - they include a couple of me. There were a lot more, but most were out of focus - my brother is a worse photographer than I am.

Evening all. Another busy day over and with it the weekend!

{{{LiLi}}} Get used to kissing it better! Since HRH’s spectacular nose-dive off the bed last year (when was that? September? October?), she has tried to split her head open on the coffee table and yesterday fell over her own butt (don’t ask me how - I couldn’t explain even if I tried, and I was watching when it happened!) and face-planted into the rug, successfully cutting her lip open with her teeth! Most unfortunately, that one happened in front of MIL, who again went through the whole, “Give her water, give her water” routine. I got HRH to suck on an ice cube for a little while though and she was all better after that! Then today, she had her Hep A vaccine, but little trooper that she is, she was fine after about 15 seconds! In other exciting news, HRH has decided to skip growing canine teeth and is sprouting her first molar!

Speaking of things medical, I got my blood test results today - all normal, although my cholesterol is at the high end of normal (5.2), so there is no medical reason for me to feel exhausted all the time, other than having a husband and a 13-month old child!

Donkeybear, congrats on graduating!

swampy, yay for getting the twuck fixed!

Moooommmm, nice pics - you look lovely in your outfit!

You and the Mister looked very nice, FCM! Of course, there wasn’t any doubt that you would.

My son made some pancakes so I had two. This’ll give me a bit of fuel for the upcoming workout.

My life is so exciting, isn’t it?

G’mawnin’, all–well, I did manage to sleep in until 0930, yay me! Sucking up cawfee and trying to get motivated to do something. It’s supposed to be nice today so I was thinking of going out to replace my garden trowel (SpaceDawg got hold of the last one and ate the handle  ) in order to weed the front herb garden which has been taken over by the noxious Rhizomes From Hell™. All I gotta say is that the high fog layer had damn well better disperse pretty soon because of all the weather Oregon gets this spring high fog until late morning/early afternoon thing is the one I hate most. We hates it, precious, yesss we doesss…

Glad y’all enjoyed the Colbert clip–that was the most unalloyedly joyous thing I’ve seen on the tube in a long while. Warmed me cockles, it did!

jnglmngl, what kind of internet connection do you have–do you run a router? Stupidy routers going tits up can do really interesting things to a broadband connection…

donkeybear, congrats on the gradumatation–sorry you didn’t get a car!

Pardon me, need to go squirt a yowling cat–he gets so offended when he can’t go outside…

Purty dress, FCM. Looks like a good time was had by all.

jngl, your high school yearbook photos can’t possibly be as bad as mine. I look like a poodle in most of them (this was before I came to realise that curls + bangs = poof). Then again, the early/mid 90s weren’t exactly famous for their super-flattering hairstyles.

So I popped down to visit Grandmama at the nursing home this morning, with a nice potted azalea that I had picked up on the way. Only… she wasn’t there. One of the nurses informs me that “her daughter took her out for lunch.” Apparently my aunt decided to take my grandmother out on Mother’s Day weekend for a “family lunch” but decided not to invite any of the family. Nice, huh?

I left her a nasty voicemail letting her know how inconsiderate her behaviour was. I know that it was immature, but I was so livid at the time that I needed to tell her off.

ARRRRGH. I got to work, and there was no internet! It’s back now, obviously, but for an hour and a half I didn’t have it. That makes me want to scream.

I can’t respond to most of what’s happening to most of you, so hugs and boos and whatever as appropriate all around. Special scritches to Bernie. She’s such a sweetie.

Mmm I just had a couple slices of pizza. Mom bought this Ristorante pizza by Dr Oetker and we ate the spinach one… 1/3 of it for each of us (my son loves this stuff, he’s small but he puts it away when he wants to!).

Yummy…

VWife’s Momiversary present is out in the gee-rage and the front flahr bed as appropriate. Buying 18 azaleas at a shot with her in tow ain’t for the faint-hearted. Also bought hummingbird seed, veggie garden stuff, and implements of destruction. Now, if it’ll quit raining long enough to dig in the soil…

Time to go glam for the rodeo. Whoodah thunk a (former) city slicker like me would ever say words like that?

mmmmm pizza - that’s what I want for supper.

Unders are in the dryer (they’ve already been thru the washer) and I’ve got the dishwasher running, too. I really need to vacuum - Scruffy and Bernie have brought in all sorts of stuff on their coats, so the carpet looks a mess.

My cough has subsided (altho since I just stated that, I expect to start hacking up a lung shortly) but I’ve still got snufflies. I do not like being sick - have I mentioned that??

We didn’t unload the van. Maybe tomorrow we’ll feel better. I hope.

Whew, well that’s it. Graduation is done. I didn’t get a car either, chaoticbear, so don’t feel bad. I have to go nap now, because I didn’t sleep much last night on account of nerves, and my friends and I will be going out later to celebrate.

I am frequently that dork as well. Nice to know I’m in good company.

Listening to “Cash” on my computer. I graduate tomorrow; just got my final grade in the mail today–I got an A and she made some stupid comments on my final paper (the one that I just couldn’t do). She read my right (I hate when I’m seen right through, don’t you?). She knew it wasn’t my best effort. Still, I’m a PIA enough to be pissy about being called on it! Yes, I’ve had therapy… heh.
Nap time. The Husband seem pissed at me, but I have energy to figure out why (and don’t much care).

Turning cold here and gray. Not going to wear the dress I picked out due to not wanting to die of exposure. Will wear slacks and a nice top instead. Debating whether to return the dress (as soon as I do, you know something will come up suddenly this summer that I’ll need a shift dress for).

If all this wasn’t boring and mundane for you, I have a job for you: watching paint dry.

I wish I had pizza. I left two delicious slices in my friend’s fridge in Little Rock. And I can’t buy any pizza because my parents gifted me with two leftover half-foot long sandwiches and I got my leftovers and my moms from Olive Garden, so I’m fed for the rest of the weekend. On top of that, a roommate is having a cookout tonight, I don’t know when I’ll ever get all this food eaten! (Not every eye would weep for me, I’m sure!)

pprgrl, yay for graduating also! I didn’t mean to sound like a spoiled douchebag about the car, we had discussed it beforehand and they had said they’d help me buy one (my credit is turrrrible). And you know, even if my family did just have a car break and had to buy another one, along with two younger kids who are just now becoming of driving age, a car is the traditional gift for graduation, right? :stuck_out_tongue:

swampy, my escapades consisted of coming home and playing on the Internet for 8 hours until realizing it was 6AM, then taking my sleeping medicine and a double dose of muscle relaxers and waking up around 4PM, because a friend called me. I got really pissed off at the phone because I thought I was talking on it and he just wasn’t responding, but it turned out I hadn’t even picked the phone up. It was still laying in the bed and I was talking to no one in particular. Now if you want to know what I did the day of graduation, as in that morning, I’d have to tell ya via PM. I don’t want to hurt these poor MMPers. :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh well, I needed the rest.

MOTHERS DAY IS TOMORROW?! I guess I can just say that I gave her plenty of hugs yesterday while she was here and got to visit her, right?

Also everyone, I’m going to apologize in advance for showing you this site if you didn’t already know about it, but I recently discovered woot.com , a site that updates at midnight CST every day with some sort of fabulous deal, often on an electronics item. Now, I don’t have enough disposable income for most of them, and don’t need the other ones, so it’s not a big threat to me, but they also have a wine woot, which won’t ship to my state, but there’s one for T-shirts too. This is so dangerous. They’re 10 bucks each, SHIPPED. shirt.woot.com has today’s model, and I bought one. I had wanted to buy 2 of the ones last week, but couldn’t justify the money for them since I was about to take a mini-vacation.

(I’m having deja vu about this next sentance)

I asked Smokey what she was going to get me for Mothers’ Day, but she just looked at me then licked her paw.

Just got up from my second failed attempt at napping. Failed because after I’d been asleep for a significant amount of time TVMan came in the room and said, “Yep, it’s naptime!” And then, the lawnmower next door started. Oh well. Working on dinner now. Smells yummy yummy yummy!

Oh, yeah. Mothers’ Day.

I wonder what the baby is getting me?
Cripes, I’m tired. I haven’t done anything, but I’m really tired. Early bedtime? Maybe?

Rosie, whatever it is will be tasty then. She’s trying to tell you so.

I wonder if my daughter will remember that tomorrow is Mother’s Day? I expect she’s still distracted by that honeymoon thing.

Supper was leftover sketties for me and leftover chickie for FCD. We’re both starting to feel better, so yay! I’m a little snuffly, but if I can get a good night’s sleep, I should be as normal as is possible for me by morning. Then I can go back to work on Monday. Um, yay??

I see more medicinal ice cream in my evening.

 now I’m worried - because I know what kind of things she finds tasty
