Oh my, I had missed the published poet claim. Of course publishing these days isn’t what it used to be. Perhaps he’s referring to his SDMB haikus.

Obviously a lot of people lick him, he looks like George Clooney!

I’m aware of all this. It’s kind of my point, the lack of skill, thought and brilliance is evident. There’s some sarky witticisms there in his output, but that’s not haiku, that’s Parker.

I’m sure most published poets don’t spend much time to brag about their l33t poetix skillz on MBs either, just saying. It’s an observation of the imbecile in question, not published poets in general.

I like it well enough, to read, when done well.

Only taller.

Although, I must say, I kind of picture JoW looking a lot more like Mr B The gentleman Rhymer than George Clooney … for some reason.

“It was at one of these meetings that i met my wife, Morgan Fairchild! Yeah, that’s the ticket!”

Can you link us to this advice from “police and other professionals” where they tell the recipients of threats not to talk publicly about those threats?

Fair enough. I haven’t read the thread in question, as even good haiku aren’t my cup of tea.

Yeah, I also think he’s pretty obviously from the hosiery department.

That is of no concern to me. I was not addressing you. Please address your comment to others, if you must, but I ask that you do not attempt to engage me in this or other threads.

I can’t imagine why; the line “I have a pipe and I shall keep it handy …” was delightful in so many ways.

You know you have the power to control that, with the ignore function? But you jump straight to playing the poor put-upon powerless victim…

Fascinating (although as wildly inaccurate as almost everything else posted about me in this thread). Who is it you think is behind the sock? I might even be flattered.

Don’t usually do haikus, as it happens, but I like the nature of, and contributions in, that thread here. But I don’t do epics either - a poem should be concise, to my mind (what an opening! Do tell me what you think of my mind, I’m having so much fun in here  )

I can’t imagine being so insignificant in my real life that I’d feel the need to Pit an internet stranger I know nothing about by pretending to myself that my fabricated insults will matter as much to that stranger as they did to me, but hey, whatever turns you on. Which includes racism, apparently…eminently more pittable, I would have thought. The Japanese value haikus, considering the distillation of an idea to a tiny thing more impressive than the mere accumulation of words in an ‘epic’. But what do the nips know, eh? Go pit yourself.

Do not address me. You are of no interest to me.

If this is how you define victim-hood, there’s no wonder you have this delusion about feminism.

Well, I was only trying to help, but it seems you’re beyond help.

Like so many other words, ‘victim’ can refer to a wide range of impacts from a variety of actions. The victims of the holocaust, for example, and also the victims of a slushie attack in a high-school-musical tv show. But if this is an example of your intellectual capabilities, it’s no wonder you fell for the delusion of feminism.

I was using ‘victim’ in that case because j666 (who will never be embarrassed by that choice of name when s/he grows up ) chose not to take a simple action, readily available and widely known, to achieve the desired result. Instead, he/she/it chose to position themselves as the ‘victim’ of the monster who dared address them on a public message board.

I’m assuming all this nonsense will tail off when the schools go back in September. I’ll miss you all. Promise you’ll drop by and say ‘die’ during the next holidays.

Let me take a shot at it: Jack of Words is also Construct and Tithonus. What did I win?

Using ethnic slurs is against the board rules. No warning issued, but don’t do this again.

Ah, I forgot I was mostly talking to Americans, who were bound to miss that I was implying that the poster who appeared to be racist about Japanese culture would probably use that term to refer to the Japanese. My apologies, it’s not a form or class of expression that I’d use myself (though I do notice that the other n-word got used a lot in the PC Pit thread?). Might I suggest a list of banned words somewhere, because apparently at least some truthful descriptions are outlawed (‘bigot’ for example), ‘troll’ is verboten except here, and I don’t know about ‘Brit’ or ‘yank’, and such, which may or may not be considered ethnic slurs.

Never heard of either, so you’re just a loser. Keep guessing (though it’s a game you can only lose, that should suit you  )
