I have to cover up the tan line somehow, and bracelets never fit me properly. :stuck_out_tongue:

Wow, he must have been pretty young. Like, 20s?

That’s about how old I was when I decided to go watch-nude (I’m 52 now). Comments above remind me of the slightly panicky feeling it gave me at first. But in the end my stress level went way way down. I was no longer uber-punctual, I just got places early and hung out. I no longer knew nor cared how many minutes, exactly, it took to get from door-to-door, anywhere. Etc.

Now I’m just not into time.

  9. Do you sleep with it on? No
  10. Anything else you want to share? **I like watches and have a bunch of cheap ones. Of course, right now, the one I’m wearing is the only one with a good battery. I wish it had Roman numerals on the face. **

  6. “above” the knob (closer to your elbow)
  7. Analog
  8. leather and nylon
  9. Do you sleep with it on? When I forget to take it off
  10. Anything else you want to share? Digital watches tell you how long after the hour it is. Analog clocks show you how much longer until the next hour. In my experience, you almost always want to know how much time UNTIL something; not PAST something, which is why I think analog watches/clocks are superior. And they must show the numbers; not just dots.

  4. Right.
  5. Top.
  6. Judging from my tan line, on it.

  1. Female
  2. 25
  3. Right
  4. Right

  6. Again, depends where it ends up.
  7. Analog
  8. Snap closed metal
  9. Sometimes, though I generally take it off.
  10. The last watch I had was a cheapo ten dollar one from the cart at the mall, but when I broke the knob on it I couldn’t find one that I liked as much so I shelled out more for a Fossil watch that looks almost identical (slim and silver). I love it. I also have multiple watches, but I almost bever wear them. Nana buys me funky watches from places but they invariably have huge faces and feel awkward. I prefer slim watches.

  9. Do you sleep with it on? Yes
  10. Anything else you want to share? If it ain’t Swiss made, I don’t wear it. It’s my own little way of having something with fine engineering in it even though I probably will never be able to purchase a fine German automobile. If I’m going out of the country, the Swiss watches stay and I wear a black Casio G-shock.
  1. Your gender (I assume wristwatch wearers are mostly men, but I see women wearing them now and again). Female (I’ve never observed that more men wear watches than women - if anything, I would think that it’s easier for guys to pull their cells out of their back pockets than for women to go rummaging in their purse)
  2. Your approximate age (to the decade, if you don’t mind) 24
  3. Are you right-handed or left-handed? Right

I put it below, but the strap’s a bit loose and it slides around a bit7. Analog or digital? **Analog. Always. When I got my first watch (in grade one!) my parents got analog, and wouldn’t let me have a digital one for a few years to make sure I learned to tell time. Now I see time visually, as part of a circle, and 20 minutes means much more to me if I can “see” it on a watch. Plus, they’re prettier, at least for women.**8. What is the band made of – stetchy metal, snap-closed metal, leather, fabric, plastic? Snap-closed metal
  7. Do you sleep with it on? No
  8. Anything else you want to share? I’m also obsessive about knowing the time. The only time I don’t care if I’m wearing it is if I’m working at the computer.**

    Below.
  7. Analog or digital?
    Analog.
  8. What is the band made of – stetchy metal, snap-closed metal, leather, fabric, plastic?
    Fabric, with velcro
  9. Do you sleep with it on?
    No
  10. Anything else you want to share?
I misplaced my watch a few weeks ago. Somehow, through middle-aged absent-mindedness, I lost my watch within my own apartment, and hours of searching have been fruitless. So I’ll get a new one – but that’s why I don’t buy expensive watches. I’ve gone through probably twenty in my life, and four in the last three years.

As indicated above, I am pleased to see that there are a few of us who wear our watch on the same hand with which we write. My wife (who is also left-handed, but wears her watch on the right) and I had an argument about this a while back which culminated in her calling me a traitor for wearing my watch on my left hand.

  1. Your gender (I assume wristwatch wearers are mostly men, but I see women wearing them now and again).

Male.

  1. Your approximate age (to the decade, if you don’t mind)

I’ll be forty in August.

  1. Are you right-handed or left-handed?

Right handed.

  1. Which wrist do you wear your timepiece on?

**Usually left, but It’s on the left right now, because I have a 2nd degree burn and a lot of gauze on my left thumb. **

  1. Is the face of the watch on the top of your wrist (back-of-the-hand side), or the bottom (palm-side)?

I usually wear it back of the wrist, but if I’m playing in the SCA, I’ll turn it around, so at a casual glance, it might look like a bracelet.

  1. You know that little knob on your wrist (the condyle, I think)? Does your watch rest “above” the knob (closer to your elbow) or below it (closer to your hand)?

**Above. I have skinny wrists. **

  1. Analog or digital?

**Analog. What race in this backwater of the galaxy is so primitive as to think digital watches are a good idea? **

  1. What is the band made of – stetchy metal, snap-closed metal, leather, fabric, plastic?

**Snap closed metal. **

  1. Do you sleep with it on?

**No, my sleep alcove is sans chronometers, I don’t really want to know how much sleep I’m getting or not getting. **

  1. Anything else you want to share?

**I prefer analog watches. I don’t think I’ve ever had a digital, but probably I have. Interesting story behind my current watch. It’s the best I’ve ever had, purchased with the refund from a wedding set that never got used. Jewelry store didn’t give cash back, only store credit. Hadda get something. **

  8. What is the band made of – stetchy metal, snap-closed metal, leather, fabric, plastic? The nice analog has snap-closed metal, the crappy digital has velcro (hahaha)
  9. Do you sleep with it on? No!
  10. Anything else you want to share? Sometimes the velcro watch smells horrible because I wear it while working on messy things and all the sweat soaks into the fabric. I have to wash it every now and then.

  2. Your approximate age (to the decade, if you don’t mind). 21

The knob is closer to my hand than my shoulder.
  7. Analog or digital?
Digital, other than when I’m doing a non-treadmill workout, so I can have a stopwatch.
  8. What is the band made of – stetchy metal, snap-closed metal, leather, fabric, plastic? The everyday analog one is black leather, the gym watch is fabric/velcro.
  9. Do you sleep with it on?
No. It would quite literally keep me awake.
  10. Anything else you want to share?
I know I’m an oddity for my age/gender, but I feel absolutely naked without a watch. I like the convenience of having the time Right There, and I like the way it looks as well.
  1. Your gender (I assume wristwatch wearers are mostly men, but I see women wearing them now and again). Female

  3. Are you right-handed or left-handed? Right-handed

  7. Analog or digital? Analog
  8. What is the band made of – stetchy metal, snap-closed metal, leather, fabric, plastic? snap-closed metal
  9. Do you sleep with it on? No
  10. Anything else you want to share? I have about half a dozen watches, most of which my husband has bought for me. Right now, I’m wearing a decent gold-coloured, brushed stainless steel watch (Paris Hilton brand , I think) that hubby bought for me a couple of years back. Interestingly, precisely none of my watches have a second hand on them!

3. Are you right-handed or left-handed? Right

7. Analog or digital? Analogue with digital time, date, stopwatch, countdown timer selected by pressing one of the four buttons and I find it hard to remember which.
8. What is the band made of – stretchy metal, snap-closed metal, leather, fabric, plastic? Snap-closed metal.
9. Do you sleep with it on? No
10. Anything else you want to share? I usually only wear it when I go to work and it comes off as soon as I get in the door. I bought the watch from the Ship’s Store at McMurdo Station in Antarctica in 1992, I think. The watch I took with me stopped because of a flat battery and I couldn’t get a new battery during winter so I spent $US125 on a Citizen yachting watch. I guess the choice was between that and a cheapo Timex. It’s had about a half dozen batteries since and with the pressure testing it costs me $NZD30-40 each time. Should have spent twice as much and got one of those Seiko watches with the movement-activated charging.
