Phouka, I sent your gift by USPS, and it left my town before I went down to New Orleans for a visit (Dec 11-Dec 16). Fool that I am, I did NOT get a tracking number … looks like I will re-send and you’ll get it for a New Year’s present (but probably NOT by Jan. 1) … unless I hear from you otherwise and it miraculously appears!
And, FWIW, I’ve not received a mysterious box from any Doper. This Christmas mail stuff is weirder and considerably LESS RELIABLE than in “the old days.”

YAY! So glad it finally arrived!
The U.S. Postal “Service” returned the box I sent to **phouka **-- in smithereens. There was **NOTHING *****IN ***the box, except an “apology letter” from which I quote:
“We realize your mail is important to you and you have every right to expect it to be delivered intact and in good condition. The Postal Service makes every effort to properly handle all mail that has been entrusted. Unfortunately, occasional damage may occur to individual peices of mail.”
Yeah, right. It was a perfectly STURDY L.L. Bean shoebox, packed tightly and taped securly.
Long story short – I have re-purchased. I will re-pack and re-ship, which I would have done today, but we got slammed with a massive snowstorm (think of midcoast Maine) and I simultaneously caught a cold.
I will say “Bah! Humbug!” to the USPS and a belated Merry Christmas to phouka :mad::(:smack:
