SDMB Secret Santa Exchange

I guess the postman snuck back after I left for work…

Thank you so much, Faerie Beth!

Things started off with a very festive card, containing a picture of a very handsome young man toasting the holidays with a glass of ginger ale! Delving in further amongst the inflatable cat-toys/packing shapes (the cats say thank you, also) I found a bucket of pomgranet mojito mix (look out New Years Eve!) and some wonderful fuzzy purple shoe/socks! And to top it off, not just one but two kinds of dark chocolate - Ghirardelli dark with raspberry filling and Hershey’s Cacaco Reserve Dark. I am in chocolate heaven!

Thanks so much!

I did see something - but I guess I didn’t look closely enough. I’ll take another look at it when I get home tonight.

And thanks!

The post office lost my package :frowning: . They’re looking for it and will call me if they find it. The carrier was there and he said he remembers having it but having nowhere to put it so he brought it back to the office. And they lost it.

Now, we currently live at one house. We are moving to another. Across the street. Literally. I’m looking at the new house from my living room window. The new house was not there two days ago (trailer park). The PO wasn’t supposed to start delivering packages there until next week but apparently they forgot that. He was supposed to leave it here. Not there.

So, I told them that if they find it, they can deliver it to either address. I hope they find it. It’s not like it’s a big PO for a big city. It’s a small office for a small city. More like a town actually.

That’s soooo much classier than the ones where the whites come out the nose.

I use the separator method from The Hours–dump the egg contents into your hand and let the white slip out into the bowls, keeping a loose finger cage around the yolk. Works well!

THEY FOUND IT!!!

Avarie 537 thankyouthankyouthankyou!!! Oh my god, this is the coolest secret santa gift ever!

I got clay! Ten bricks of Sculpey III (the one I use most) Polymer clay! I’m so excited. I was running very low on supplies and it was limiting the stuff I could make. This is perfect. Thank you so much!

I’m so glad the internet hasn’t been turned off yet, so I could say thanks!

And…

sent!

I still haven’t shipped my package yet, and am getting worried. I ordered something online for my person, and it isn’t here yet!

I think I’ll try to find it locally so I can mail the box by tomorrow.

Purple Haze

I was just about to post a :frowning: when our receptionist walked into my office with a box!

She was a little hesitant because the box was making noise!

I on the other hand was not worried a single iota about the boxes vocalization. I was too busy happy dancing that my Secret Santa was here!!!

Mama Zappa is my Santa! I am opening the box now. (I decided to open before Christmas!) Shaking the box produces a lovely sing songy sound. There are 3 packages nestled into the peanut packing. One has a giant red jingle bell with white glittery polka-dots. Aha! Mystery solved. The littlest one is wrapped in green paper. It’s a Scharffen Berger Nibby Dark Chocolate with roasted cacao nibs. OMGOMGOMG! I can’t hardly wait to taste it!

The next size package is wrapped in blue paper and is soft and squishy. Inside layer upon layer upon layer of tissue paper (that’s what made it squishy) is the most adorable little mouse ornament! He’s sitting on a piece of cheese. Looks handmade and I just love it! He’ll go on my tree when I get home. squee!

Next is a two parter wrapped in red paper with white polka-dots with the jingle bell attached. The bottom piece is flat. It’s a die cut Carolina Hurricanes indoor/outdoor magnet with the logo and a puck! Woot! Going up in my office right now. And inside the last gift is a giant Hershey’s Kiss. Yummmmmmmy! It says that a serving size is 1/5 of it. :dubious: This one will go home with me to be nibbled at over the next several days while watching TV.

Thank you so much Mama Zappa!

That happened to me last year…I ordered a nice assortment of gifts that I planned to box with some things I’d bought at a brick-and-mortar store. Ordered them December 4th and didn’t get them until around the 22nd! My santee was very understanding, though.

Count me among the gifted!

The good news: the cute new chick at the UPS Store knows me on sight now, always a helpful thing.

The better news: a box was waiting for me. Opened it to reveal a lovely wrapped package and an envelope with “Open me last” written on it. Fun!

Opening the wrapped box I find … oh! awesome!! An Arkansas keychain fob, a Razorbacks shot glass, and the new Princess Bride DVD with the upside-downy cover!! Thank you, so much, Woman of Scorn! I was just thinking the other day about finding me a nice shot glass for the occasional belt of vodka, and here you’ve gone and read my mind!

Omigosh, I almost forgot the envelope! Opening it, I find … oh, heavens, just the sweetest card ever with a very nice note. Jeez, hon, you’re gonna make me mist up here, if I’m not careful. I hope you have a very merry Christmas, Woman of Scorn, and thank you again!!

Not gifted yet. I mention it because if my giver has sent it, I don’t want them to think I’m ungrateful.

SnakesCatLady, You’re welcome! I was worried when I drew your name because Arkansas has no hockey teams! We’re kinda lame like that. Purple and chocolate I could do, though. I imagined much excitement in your feline family members once you put the fuzzy purple slippers on and run around the house! Our little one wanted some, too, so he could have muppet feet. You’ll have to let me know how the Pomegranate Mojitos turn out, too!

I was getting worried that maybe the package arrived at someone else’s house which is why I had to break down and mention it. I’m super glad you liked what I got you! I am building a shotglass collection from all 50 states, so I thought I might start yours  .

And Merry Christmas to you too. What a wonderful way to get to know someone!

Kat, were you able to get that noise stopped yet? I should have wrapped the thing…

Yeah, I unscrewed the claw part and messed around with the wires inside until it stopped. Of course, I couldn’t get it back together again, but my sister offered her fiance’s technical expertise to reassemble it.

I haven’t had a chance to get mine out, but tomorrow I will, and it’ll go priority. I don’t know if it’ll get there before The Day, but I hope so.

My coworkers liked the goodies, gigi – there was no way I could (or at least, should) eat all that stuff by myself so I shared my bounty with them. Not all of it, though! I almost hate the thought of eating the chocolate snowman because he’s so damn cute, but he’s chocolate. I’ll eat him soon. Heh heh heh.

We’ll categorize that one under Most-Well-Intentioned-But-Inadvertently-Obnoxious-Christmas-Gifts.

Okay, I’m looking at the very obvious rocking chair symbol on the card and the book bead tags. I should have figured that out.

But what do the other letters written on the tags mean?

Yes - I sent you a book. But there was a card too addressed to MsWhatsit.

I have a package waiting for me at the post office! Exciting. I’ll get it after work today (last day before holidays, whooo!) and report the findings as soon as I open it.
