Aw, welby, don’t worry, you’ll get to play with it soon.
I had to do that to my girl, too, so I know where that killjoy welbywife is coming from.
Flashpoint: Look, your mom said we had to hang onto these gifts because she doesn’t have any room for them!
Me: Uh-huh.
'point: Don’t tell her I’m gonna open mine.
Me: WHAT?
'point: Yeah, but you have to open yours, too.
Me: WHAT??
'point: LOOK A SWEATER! JEANS! UNDIES!!!
Me: sigh We’re opening them WITH HER at the party on Satuday. Now I have to wrap them back up.
'point: I LOVE my sweater!!!
Me: sigh
…but I love my sweater, too. And I can’t wait to open it again at the No-L party on Satuday. …you wouldn’t think we were almost 30, would ya?
I got my Secret Santa gift a while ago but was waiting for the Secret Santa thank you thread, then realized “Duh, it’s probably all in the Secret Santa thread” so here I am.
I just wanted to say thank you so much. I absolutely love my gift. It’s a yoga/relaxation CD, some green tea bath accessories, some green tea and a tea cup all on a lovely bamboo tray. The CD is incredibly relaxing and the bath things smell really nice. I know I was probably supposed to wait until christmas, but I just couldn’t.
Duly received: One University of Tennessee Mug and Shot Glass, thank you! What’s funny is that my parents met at that other orange-and-white UT, but I’m very happy to have both.
Mugs are always welcome, and I love getting things from around the country.
I got my package today. And managed to not open it long enough to finish a round of finals studying. And briefly considered trying to wait longer. And decided there was absolutely no way.
Brynda, thanks so much! I got Splat, complete with a Splat Mat. It’s goopy, and throwable, and generally cool.
Ok, I haven’t seen any posts from my victim…I am starting to get worried!!! Please post, if you haven’t already, and let us know if you received your gift!!!
I nominate Baker for the gift of the year. A home made hand knitted afghan. It is beautiful. You have made my wife extremely jealous. And the fruitcake smells wonderful. Can’t wait to try some. On those cold nights when I am toasty warm I will remember you. Thanks a million.
TOYS! Space Scramblers to be exact. I’ve already had more fun rearranging the pieces on them. And the purple bag is nifty too!
Thanks SecretSanta
Yes, OxyMoron, that was me. I figured that since not everyone can have the VOL area code (yes, it really does spell that), then they need something with orange on it.
No problem, although I must admit that the final choice came down to my NewlyAcquiredWife. I was not sure what character to buy, and she informed me that everyone loves Dopey, and I was an idiot for not knowing that.
I also received yours, and while the CD mailer box gave away the TYPE of present, I’ve no clue what the actual present is yet, thanks to your stern warning of “DO NOT OPEN UNTIL XMAS”…
But I am launching a pre-emptive thanks to you anyway
oooo!
I got mine. Tis from ** Oxymoron**. I would looooove to know what it is, but my mother said I am not allowed to open it. Mind you I’m 23 years old. She pointed out that there were 2 WARNINGS to not open til xmas. I reallllllly wanna peek. But I guess I’ll have to wait til xmas.
Thanks in advance!! I’ll squeal and gush when its opened though.
I feel so hypocritical! I put those warnings on because I didn’t wrap your present. (My grandmother would be very disappointed in me.) I opened mine without thinking much, still feeling guilty that I hadn’t wrapped yours - and of course it wasn’t wrapped either. I think only Martha Stewart actually likes wrapping things.
May I suggest we adopt a Uniform Wrapping or Non-Wrapping Rule <grin>?
*racer72, you would actually have recieved the afghan about four days earlier, but I wasn’t quite finished crocheting it yet. I usually have one in the works for gifts as needed, most people like them and I glad you did!
BTW, that’s not a fruitcake. It is a German stollen, recipe for which came from the mother of my former boss. She was a German national, and when I helped her make it the first time I had to convert all the metric amounts to our American unwieldy system. Several other people wanted the recipe and they say they say metric is more “confusing” I prefer it myself.
I tried some of the stollen last night, it was very good. My grandkids even liked it. I can’t really tell you how much I appreciate the afghan. My mother use to make them so I would receive a new one every few years. But she died about 13 years ago and my remaining afghans are getting a little ratty around the edges. It brought back a lot of wonderful memories and I can’t thank you enough.
I finally got off my lazy butt and sent mine out today. I went to the PO and there was no one there! So I picked up an envelope to send it in and when I turned around there were four people in front of me. I couldn’t believe it.
I also got mine yesterday. I have not opened it yet since it will be the only thing I get to open on Christmas. I did eat some of the cookies though. Thanks whoever you are.
