Secret Santa 2002!

Well, I got my gift yesterday. Being that I was out of work, it was waiting for my arrival this morning! I love presents!!!

I still have yet to figure out who my SS was…but I LOVE the fact that you live in a town that has my cat’s name!

Thank you so much for the lovely collection of fragrances by Elizabeth Taylor! I truly can’t decide which one is my favorite! (Though I’m sure my office mates are sick of me right now!) And the lovely box it came in is truly precious!!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I LOVE IT!

Now…since I can’t do it myself…reveal yourself!

I’m glad you like the brekkie items Tansu. When we were searching for ideas (reading your posts and stuff to get an idea of you) we found a thread saying how much you liked American breakfasts.

So… Tomorrow you can start Christmas with a hot bath* and pancakes with maple syrup.

The postman tried to deliver the package yesterday, but Kal had just left to take mum to the bus station. Phoned for redelivery today it has not come yet. Looks like it will be Friday or Saturday before it gets here. Oh well… extra prezzies

Here’s Lush if you need any more info about your bath bombs.

Enjoy!!

  • the cream coloured one is a Brandy Butter Ball - leaves you very soft and yummy smelling, the other is an Avobath Bomb - avocado - another skin softener. The Avobath has a bit of green glitter - so be aware

Well, my SS gift was Fedexed yesterday, and I was told it would reach the recipient today before five pm . . . .

Rest easy, Chique, the package just got here – filled with yummy treats (including a couple of chunks of what looks to be extremely serious fudge). Thanks for timing it so I didn’t have to agonize over whether to wait to open it or not – Christmas Eve is definitely not too early!

(omigod, are those krumkakke? I have not idea how to spell them, but my Norwegian stepmother, who I otherwise had no use for whatsoever, used to make them for xmas…)

Thanks! This sweet-toothed twickster is a very happy doper!

Let’s just say that Salem is really close to Roanoke.

** //\etalhea|)** thanks for revealing yourself! You’re a great gift selector!

I hope your holiday season is filled with tons of good stuff!!!

I never did figure out who gave me the pretty dreamcatcher. Can you reveal yourself, or do you want to remain secret?

Yay! Secret Santa comes through on Xmas Eve!

LordJim sent me a beautiful pair of sterling silver earrings from Bali along with a fantastic handmade card. Thank you so much! I will be wearing the earrings when I go back to work on Thursday (sigh).

Encinitas, I’m glad you like them. I confess that I had help. I wouldn’t want to mislead anyone into thinking a actually had that good of taste.

Jane D’oh, the gift was absolutely wonderful! Thank you from the bottom of my heart! (and the card was adorable!!!)

Santa showed up at my house today dressed in a FedEx uniform bearing my Secret Santa gift.

The excitement at the DWD house was high upon the arrival of the celebrated package. Mr. DWD brought the box into the kitchen, where I was preparing a pot of beef vegetable stew, and with a big smile on his face exclaimed “This must be for you!”

I quickly washed and dried my hands and then ripped into the box. No waiting for Christmas for me, my friends, oh no! I’d been eagerly anticipating this little treasure for several weeks now… keenly searching the house and garage for any hint of a delivery. Oh sure, there had been some false hope, as I had also made several purchases to be delivered to my home for the Holidays and would come home from a long day at work (can you hear the dreary work-gang music in the background?) to find yet another package that I had ordered and would have to wrap.

Anyway, as I commenced to ripping into my delivery, I realized I was not alone. There stood my hubby, as anxious and eager as I was to see what my SS had sent to me! He reached in and pulled out some of the packing material and said “Hey, you got some nice bags here!”… and we laughed. We knew the best was to come. BTW, Jane, you did a fine job of packaging it all up!

Finally, I came to a wrapped parcel amid the packing, and knew that I would soon be in SS heaven. I tore off the paper as quickly as I could, and opened up the beautiful box to discover…

Old-fashioned kittycat print ornaments! Beautiful ornaments! And as I sat there and brought out every one of those ornaments, my heart filled with joy and my eyes with tears. My hubby grinned from ear from ear and told me that my gift was so neat.

Do you know what’s the most wonderful thing about all of this? That so many people, most of whom have never met, or only met a few times, can bring each other wonder, comaraderie, and joy in these troublesome times.

So, I say to you all with a smile on my face and joy in my heart:

** I wish all of you the very warmest of blessings this holiday season!**

Love,

DWD

WOO!! I was SO worried it wouldn’t show on time…do you have any idea how often one can refresh the UPS tracking page in an hour?

And yes, krumkakke. I’m guessing they’re a little wilty by now but damn they’re good

Glad you liked it, hon

Thank you Cranky!
One more excuse to get my butt over to BeagleDaves’ house.

I wanna play with SeaMonkeys too!

I got my stuff mailed out today. Nothing like the last minute.:frowning:

Not telling who my giftee was and spoiling at least some of the suprise, but when you get it please let me know.
It was my first attempt at making your gift and I’m dying to know if it fits and how you like it.

Cool! We waited patiently until this morning to open our presents (unlike SOME people whose screen names I won’t mention).

Shirley Ujest, the VERY first person to reply to this thread way back on Nov 11th, sent me a BEEEE-YOOOO-tiful Snow Globe with a snowman, and a 1959 Cadillac with big ole fins and everything, slung reeeeealll low. Purple, even. As cool as it gets.

THANK YOU!!!

FairyChatMom (I figure you must be my SS, since the return address on the package is Orange Park), thank you for the penguin magnets! And especially for the chocolate. I’m just going to have a time keeping my husband from eating all of it!

OK, I opened mine this morning. A book, “Who’s who in Classical Mythology”! I love it. I had forgotten that I mentioned my love of mythology, and I always enjoy reading reference books cover to cover.

Thank you, Arachnidlove (you gave yourself away). I really do appreciate it!

Merry Christmas!!

Badge

**Uncle Bill ** You are *very welcome *. And I want you to know that I antigonized over what to get you (as you posted nothing to the Wish List) and right after I mailed everything off, you *post * your wishes. Naturally, this has caused great consternation up here at *Chateau Ujest *

Everyone in Miami needs a low rider, albeit a 1:18 in size.
( I can never resist snow globes. I bought three for myself that day.)

I’m really happy that Badge liked his gift. I wish you a very Merry Christmas.

I was so excited this morning when I tore into my gift. Its a postcard book of poetry. Its really beautiful and I haven’t read all the poems yet. I especially liked the card ** Oxymoron**. Made me feel like you really cared about your secret santa.

I am really touched and filled with happiness for everyone.

I got the most wonderful coffee cup from True Pisces. Thanks so much. The card was absolutely beautiful and I hope that you also have a happy holiday season. Thank you so much!!!

Yeah, Geobabe, it was me! (It was I? I was the one?) Since we’re fellow Floridians, I thought it would be silly to send you something that said Florida, so I looked at your list. And, frankly, I don’t think you can ever have too many refrigerator magnets!

As for the chocolate - that’s one of my favorites. It was a major effort to seal it in the package! It spoke to me. It said “Please don’t send me away!!!” I hope you enjoy it!

[sub]PS - according to the USPS, you package hasn’t been delivered yet… I was really worrying that it got lost and you’d be giftless, so I’m glad it arrived safely![/sub]

Enjoy the poetry, Arachnidlove, I’m so glad you liked it and the card. Merry Christmas!
