I’ve had my gift waiting to be sent out for a few days now, but with final exams underway I’ve been really busy and haven’t gotten to the post office yet. I’ll be sending it off tomorrow, I really hope it makes it in time for Christmas or at least not too far afterwards. I’m sorry, Santee.
Then again, according to Finnish tradition, Christmas season lasts until January 6th, so hey! Another bit of Finnish flair for the gift.
I got my gift today! Yay! Did I rip it right open? Hell yeah!
Thank you, LoganDear, for the cool book of logic puzzles. It will be hours of fun for me 'cause I love logic puzzles. You really are a dear and I appreciate the early Christmas cheer.
On another note, my package is sitting in my car, waiting to be mailed. It rides around on the floorboards, emitted guilt rays at me as I drive. I’ll try my very best to get it in the mail tomorrow. If you live in the upper Midwest, don’t worry – you have not been forgotten!
DeVena, I’m glad you like your gifts! I made the jewelry and the bookmark, but the bunny just seemed to call out to be sent to you when I saw her. You had mentioned “purple” and “frou-frou girly stuff” and I don’t think there is anything much more frou-frou than a bunny in a purple ballerina outfit!
My package went out today - after 3 attempts with no results. Even getting it out today was a trial because the lady at the PO kept making me fill out the customs forms over and friggen over again. But, it went and should be at it’s new home by next Friday.
I had a false gift arrival yesterday. I was so sure that the package on the couch was from my SS. But, alas, it was from my first stepmother (the ex-nun who likes to send me Randy Travis Christian mix CD’s for Christmas).
So, I now have yet another religious mix which I will never listen to, socks I will never wear because they’re size 9 and I wear kid socks, and a pretty green scarf. And best of all, I still have my SS package coming!!! I’m so excited!
I can (and frequently do) go a month without checking my mailbox. Now, I have checked it 6 times in the last 4 days.
Mine went out today, finally. The stupid postman won’t say it would get there by Christmas, even though the website says if you mail by the 20th by priority mail it will be there in time. Oh well, it’s only going about 400 miles and it has a week.
I did get my gift, my mother was right. The return address just said SDMB secret santa with a Maryland zip code, I believe, but it got here. I’m saving it for Christmas, unless I shouldn’t, and if so, let me know.
It’s official…I have the best Secret Santa ever (even if she forgot to include her user name).
A package was waiting for me when I got home and it was filled with all kinds of lovely goodies. She gave me a pretty beaded bracelet which will go well with the sweater I am wearing tonight, a snowman christmas ornament which brings my grand total of christmas ornaments owned to one, two very yummy candles (one of which sadly did not make it intact, but I might try to melt it into another jar because a fudge brownie candle should not go to waste) and the most interesting item, a can of green boiled peanuts. I haven’t decided whether to eat them or leave them on the coffee table as a conversation piece.
I haven’t received anything yet. However, I just received a mystery package. The cost of it must be well over the SDMB limit. It said that I myself ordered it, but had no price or any other information. It is a book called Weird U.S.
Alas, the mystery package at my house was not my Secret Santa gift. I’m still waiting, but very patiently, since mine hasn’t been sent out yet. I wanted to do so yesterday, but traffic was worse than expected and I got home too late to have time to find a box and rush to the post office. It’s going out tomorrow, I promise. And it’s going to be full of all kinds of wintery goodness.
My secret santa presents have been purchased and will go to the post office tomorrow. Hopefully, they will arrive safe and sound just in time for Christmas! I do hope that my giftee will like them!!
